Similar problem here. My Ical refuses to edit or delete events. Viewing is possible, though sometimes the whole screen turns grey. Adding new events from mail is still possible. The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall.

Hi. I have not used Roxio Jam for quite a long time and I just wanted to make a few CDs. Jam used to work easily and well. I have a problem. I can't drag and drop iTunes music files anymore and, now I have to import music one song at a time by using the "+" or "-" buttons on the bottom. What is going on? I trashed the preferences file and restarted Jam to no avail. I also have selected that Jam should open files with iTunes in the Jam preferences. I have a G5 DP 2Ghz PPC machine with OS 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2.1 and Quicktime's version is 7.6.4. I have 2 GB of RAM and the machine has dual 1.25 Ghz. processors plus a 500 GB HD. Can anybody give me any suggestions?

I found an solution.
Uninstalling AirParrot as well as the two offending AirParrotDriver.kext and APExtFramebuffer.kext files in System>Library>Extensions was the fix. All problems disappeared.

Where can I find the pop3 emails that have been downloaded onto my surface pro tablet?

I have thunderbird setup to include 5 different business email accounts. They are all setup as pop3 accounts. My dropbox will not syn anymore because I don't have any disk space on my computer. I have been told its because my emails have been downloaded onto my computer. I cannot find them anywhere and have tried cleaning up my c drive. Can you please tell me where to look for them on my c drive? I have already deleted thousands of emails from thunderbird itself but it hasn't made a difference in how much disk space I have. Thank you.

Did you compact folders after deleting. If not that is why no space freed up. Delete marks for deletion and hides the messages. Compacting removes them and frees up space.

I can no longer receive me emails from my .mac account on my iMac even though I have been able to receive it for the past number of years, I have an iCloud account and it is sending my mail to my phone but not my desktop. What gives...

I can no longer receive my emails from the icloud to my mac even though it has been doing it fine since I moved to the icloud a number of weeks now. I only get my mail if I log into icloud or I get it on my phone, it is not synching to my iMac. Can someone assist please.

I tried something similar by adding a new mail account doing the apple id etc but it worked in that it would look for mail but no mail would come even though mail still goes to my phone I was loath to delete my original account just in case the new one did not work as well. So I guess I am a little stuck now.. I hope you can help me to sort it out.

Ever since I downloaded 3.6.14, I can no longer check my email, go to FB, etc. without signing in first. I have since downloaded 4 beta...the same thing.

I have the pioneer avh-3400bh. Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should. Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information. Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control. the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything. I'm ok with having to resync everything once she gets home but it concerned me when you said it would, again, wipe everything once I plugged it in here. I don't care about having to reload music, contacts, & apps from here, but I would rather not lose all the pictures that she took while she was gone. If we did decide to go the whole start-over-from-scratch route on her end while she is there, could the loss of pictures be adverted if she created a backup of her phone, copied the backup to a USB drive, & brought the backup file home with her so I could restore it from here? When I plug my phone into another computer, I can open it through My Computer & copy the pictures; could I do that when she gets home before I allow iTunes to open & wipe everything again?
I guess the other option would be to just have her just copy all of the pictures onto a USB drive before she comes home, I'm just curious if it's possible to restore everything if she just brings the backup file home.

On my ipad, there are dozens of "recently purchased" songs supposedly available for download from iCloud. I don't recognize most of the songs - they could have been downloaded 6 years ago by my daughter. How do I get rid of them?

So there are all these songs, from ADELE to Zapp and Roger. I don't recall purchasing any of them. Some of them were clearly purchased years ago by my daughter, who now has a different account (and doesn't know the current password to my account).
They do not show up anywhere in iTunes except on the iPad. They are not downloaded to the iPad - but I don't want them to show up in the purchased index. How do I get rid of them? Do I have to join iMatch or whatever to do this?
Also, this may explain why we're being told our iCLoud storage is full - there are actually hundreds of these unwanted songs.
Any ideas?

Purchased music does not count against your iCloud storage and you cannot get rid of them in the purchased tab.

I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). You may be able to default to DOC, but have not tried same.

Google stopped supporting Exchange for free accounts as of 1/31/13. If you already had it set up that way on the device, it will continue to work. However, if you didn't, you'll need to set it up as a regular Gmail account.

The only workaround would be to purchase the current version of iLife apps from the App Store.
Lion doesn't support the old PowerPC architecture anymore, which is what iLife '06 was written for.
If the internal apps are universal, right-click on the mpkg and choose Show Contents. Then, dig through and run the specific installer package for each application.

Mac OS X does not offer a Clean install option. If by clean install you mean erasing the system, that is not recommended unless:
1. You bought a used/refurbished Mac and there is software on it without any accompanying discs, and it is older than July 20, 2011 in model release:

Or if it is at or newer, then erase it if it has applications installed that would not have been prebundled with it and you have no CDs for those applications.
You don't want someone else's software keys, or accounts, or to be running unlicensed software. At and newer Macs offer a built-in internet restore for their software with a command-R boot that lets you erase the system with Disk Utility, and then install from the internet the latest operating system.
2. You have a hardware issue and want to eliminate possible software issues as the cause when troubleshooting a problem all at once.
Issues affecting a new install have to be isolated before you attempt it. Unless you know it is software or hardware, erasing may only mask other problems.

With the imessage app that is pre installed on the device it only works with idevices. But there are many free apps for texting. For example text free is a great one.
