I can no longer send picture e-mails from my ipod. Why?

I use to be able to send pictures from the Photos app to my e-mail. Now when I try & send them, I never get them. I also tried sending them to the Facebook mail, but again- never get them. No error message pops up on my ipod. Any suggestions?

Oh my goodness! Thank you sooo much! This worked. I can now stop sending the business e-mails from my personal account - ha ha. Since you helped me with this, maybe you can help me with one more thing. I haven't been able to attach to e-mails in this account for quite awhile now, just been using a jump drive, since a previous automatic update. I didn't obsess over it due to the fact that I could still send e-mails. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
By the way, you also put it in terms I could understand. I'm not computer illiterate, just not as up to date as I should be. Step-by-steps help alot! :D

I upgraded to iOS6 and can no longer attach photos to text messages, why would that be? Also since upgrading I find that the Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 4s is now grayed out. I recommend taking it into the store. Sounds to me like you have downloaded an app that has allowed itself to become the "primary" when sending and recieving images.... Apple is seriously dropping the ball!! Just the other day, I downloaded an app called v-downloader... Its an app that allows you to download videos through a 3rd party browser. Well what it did, was automatically place restrictions on my phone... I couldnt send pics, and it removed access to safari, facetime, messages, etc... so maybe try removing any recent app purchases. Also, I would reccomend that you restore your phone. it will redo the update off your computer and come through with less glitches
But I agree, iOS6 has been nothing but problems... I plan on removing the update when I get home

Can no longer send pictures in text that I once did. "Unsupported file type"

The other day my phone began saying I could not longer send pictures in MMS. Pictures I sent the previous week are now an unsupport file type. They are .jpg and .pngs. I have to take a screenshot of them all now, crop out the excess stuff, and then send them.

Taking a screenshot or cropping will tell nothing .mov or .wmv format for example looks the same, one is supported by Apple QuickTime the other with Microsoft Windows Media Player, it's all in the codec. What is the exact file type? Or in what format were they saved and with what?

Can no longer send outgoing e-mail

Up until last week, I was able to send outgoing e-mail from my me.com account. Now, I can't. I read somewhere that if you were away and connected to another server and then put the computer to sleep, that could be the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Since yesterday i cannot use iPhoto to send pictures with mail, it just does not open a new mesage in mail. can you help me please? have done cleaning tasks and repeired permissions already. thank you.

Have you deleted the iPhoto Preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help

Can no longer send pictures via e-mail

I just realized no one is receiving my pictures anymore. I can find them in my "sent" file, then forward, but I can no longer click on a picture and simply e-mail it. Not sure how/why/when this happened. Help! Thanks!

In the iPhoto preferences, you can choose which email application you would like to use to send photos.
iPhoto > Preferences > General
Sounds like you're using Apple Mail, but if you have Outlook installed, you may very well be using that.
How large are the files you're sending? Some email providers cap the size of an email to 10mb, so if you're sending larger or multiple photos, that may be part of the issue?
Not sure though if they're sitting in your Sent folder...

When I upgraded my daughters i-phone 3GS to the ios 6 , She was no longer able to send picture messages as a text . I have been on this phone for over 7 hours trrying to figure something. I use a free SMS texting app called Pinger. You can even make calls with it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "no longer get Safari." Look in the Applications folder to see if Safari is there if it is then you have Safari. If you click on Safari it will open (assuming it's not open already) and it will go to the page you set as your home page which you may have set as Google. From there you can navigate where you want.
If you are having other troubles please write a more descriptive post so you are drawing a picture for us. Remember we can't see what you can.

I use Hotmail for my business e-mail account and after an automatic upgrade I can no longer send out e-mails. HELP!!

When I try to send out an e-mail, it lets me enter the recipient's name and a subject but I am unable to enter anything in the body. I have not been able to add attachments for a while now because of the last time I upgraded. As I stated, this is my business e-mail and I really need it to be working. Can no longer send or receive email from any account after Security Update

I have a problem with my email in Mail. I let software update install the latest security update (007) a few days ago. I have not been able to send or receive my email since the update. I have several accounts and use Mail as my client for all. This includes my mac.com account, 3 att.net accounts and my website email. All give me the same error which is an SSL thing and has something to do with the certificates. I am able to receive email if I turn SSL off on the ATT accounts but not the mac.com (and if I try to collect my email with SSL off I get an angry message from ATT warning me I am not allowed to do so) and I cannot send any at all from any account.
The error message reads "unable to connect- there may be a problem with the mail server or network.... The server error encountered was: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificated issued to "mail.mac.com". The error was: An SSL error occured while trying to read data from the server. Verify this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct". It then states that the certificate could not be verified.
The certificate date on the mac.com account reads May, 29th , 2010.
I also have an iMac and a MacBook Pro which are also running Tiger. I have not and will not run the security update on these machines until I find out why it has messed up my email on the G5. I can still send and receive email with the exact same account settings on the MacBook so I know it is not the settings but something to do with the Security Update.
Has anyone else had trouble with this update? Any advice?

I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

Trouble when sending pictures by mail from iPhoto

Hello. Recently, while sending pictures with the mail function of iPhoto 9, some pictures have been transformed in tiff format (in this case the name of the picture is becoming PastedGraphic-1 (or2, 3 etc...).tiff.
The size of these .tiff files being at least 3Mo (or more), in general my messages never arrived to their destination.
This problem is not recurent: sometimes it happens, sometimes not, and you become aware of the problem when you receive an error messge of your internet provider regarding the size of the mail you sent and was not distributed because his size.
So this is a little bit boring....
Who got the same kind of problem? is there is a solution?

The original pictures are jpg. That's making this issue a little bit mysterious..
One more thing: last time I got the problem, I was sending 7 pictures from iPhoto: two of them were compressed in jpeg, the 5 other ones in this PastedGraphic.tiff
Total weight of the message: 21,9Mo instead of 1,8Mo. That's the difference!
