I can no longer watch online videos on my Ipod Touch
I used to watch videos online on youTubes and such but no longer it is possible.
I get the message " Cannot connect to You Tube"
Is it the same with Facebook and all other vids online?

Ipod touch 4 i can no longer watch movies, transferred to the ipod, on videos app it simply says loading and then stops. On my ipad mini with older ios it still works. So how can I fix this I have tried converting videos into different formats but it will not work.
Is IOS 8 really appropriate with Ipod Touch 4, if the older Ipods do not have the capability then why are we prompted to install new operating systems.

Yes, thank you very much. The problem was related to the Flash plugin. It had been disabled by Firefox 'for my safety' apparently. No supported versions available any longer by Adobe for ppc macs - had to download an older version from an archive site - fixed the problem. No more crashes on Firefox or Safari while on Youtube.

Why can't I add HD videos to my iPod touch?
So I recently bought an iPod touch, and I haven't had trouble with it until now. I downloaded a free TV show extra thing and it's in HD & SD, and it downloaded fine and everything. But when I tried to add it to my iPod, a popup comes up with the message: "Blah blah blah" was not copied to the iPod "Michaela's iPod" because it cannot be played on this iPod.
Why? I tried to do the "Advanced Settings" and convert it, but the convert option is grayed out and I can't choose it. I thought the iPod touch could play HD (and I do have another HD video on it currently), so why can't I add this new HD/SD video to my iPod? And I know there's enough space because I have 24.6 GB free space.It's the screen format see below.

Why can't I share any videos on my iPod touch?
Whenever I go to share one of my videos on my iPod touch, I select which ones I want and select share, but then no buttons pop up or anything. There aren't any options like when I go to send photos. Anyone have an idea of why this is happening?

I can no longer access the web on my IPod Touch through my home wifi network.
I have an I Pod Touch with operating system 4.2.1. It has worked fine the past year plus. Suddenly, I can no longer access webpages on it. When try to load a website, looks like it is trying to open the page, but it never fully loads and times out. My I Pod indicates that it recognizes my wifi network and I have tried resetting both my I Pod and my router. Weirder yet, I can access my Yahoo email on my I Pod and if there is a website link embedded in an email message, i can open it and access the page that way. Any link on the web page opened through my email however does not work. My home computer, which is on the same wifi network, is working fine. The only thing that did occur recently was a power outage.
Please help - this is very frustrating.LTE indicates cellular. Tap Settings > Cellular then switch Cellular Data ON.
If your Wi-Fi is working, then you should be able to access the internet.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
* No data is lost due to a reset

Use a tool such as MPEG Streamclip or QuickTime Pro to convert them to MPEG-4 or QuickTime and then import those into iTunes. Some AVIs can't be used in Mac OS X.

Can no longer watch tv videos at CBS, ads play but show won't
Sometime last week, week and a half ago, Web sites that I have been using have stopped working properly. One site is my college website, I could sign in but when I tried to get into blackboard or webmail there it would open the new window and then just sit there. The other sites are tv sites like CBS where I was watching tv shows. I can get the site, choose the video, the opening commerical plays and then it will say video is not available, but it is available and all the tv sites do the same thing. Now, yesterday, my school site actually worked. Haven't tried it today so I don't know if that is a fluke or not. But CBS is still not playing any show videos.
If you have the ! next to an item in your iTunes then itunes has lost the association/link. Did you move the files - if so return them to their previous location and iTunes will 'see' them again.
Search your HD with Spotlight - if they are not on the HD then the likely got deleted - then you will need a data recovery program to find them if they have not already been over written.
I use the 'keep' option of iTunes enabled - this way iTunes does the work and I only work from within the iTunes interface - that way iTunes knows what is there and what has been deleted/trashed.

My daughter and I bought new e-books and wanted to put them on our iPods to read with iBooks. First I tried with my daughter's. I added her books to her iTunes account. Her settings are set to sync all books, rather than selected books. I clicked "apply" then clicked "sync". Then I got an error message saying it could not add the 4 files (the four new books) because they could not be found. I double-checked and they were still showing up in her iTunes library where I'd put them but kept saying they could not be found when I went to sync. I also kept getting the message "cannot connect to iTunes store" which was odd but my daughter's had lots of issues with her iTunes before so before I pulled out anymore of my hair I decided to switch over to my account and put my new books on my iPod.
Umm yeah that wasn't happening either. I have mine set up to only sync selected items. I added all my new books into my iTunes. I opened up my iPod settings and went into the book section, found the new books I wanted to add, checked them all and clicked "apply" then "sync". I never got an error message, however I also didn't see the little writing during the sync that would say "adding [book title]" either. So I checked my iBooks account and sure enough they aren't in there. I tried several dozen more times, I even tried switching my settings to sync ALL the books in my iTunes and it would not add any new books at all. And before it's suggested YES, I had the room/space on my iPod for the files (same with my daughter).
This happend to me once before and I got totally frustrated and annoyed and ended up deleting every single book out of my iTunes, as well as deleting my iBooks app altogether. Then I readded iBooks and re-added a few books at a time to my iTunes account and synced and it worked fine. The next time I had a few books to add I held my breath sure it wouldn't work but it did. And the next few times was fine. Then today this happened again! I really don't want to have to take all my books off again (as I'm in the middle of reading one) and delete the app, etc. so I really hope someone can suggest something else. I'm about to just say screw it and sell my iPod and get a kindle or a kobo or something.Well, I can see a potential problem with that, although you must have made it work before.
I had a set up on a Windows computer like that, but the iTunes accounts couldn't communicate or share content. We consolidated, after much fuss, to one Library, one location.
This may be why your daughter has problems connecting to the iTunes store. The "server" is serving 2 accounts.
I am sure it is why the books didn't sync and can't be found on her iTunes account. If you look on her iTunes on the computer, are the book titles pale gray? is there an ! point on them? This means that while the computer knows they were there, they can't connect with the actual content. After all they can't be in two places at once. iTunes can sometimes offer to "rebuild the path" to lost files, I don't know it that would work here.
As for why they come and go from your device, I can only guess it is because they are not iTunes purchases. Just like my PDFs, iTunes tolerates them, but really doesn't know what they are, or what to do with them, so it does nothing. (unless you make it!) Not that iTunes treated the iBooks I did get from iTunes any better.
As I posted above, the only way I could get it to work was to delete stuff, which seemed to shock iBooks into syncing the books and PDFs. Maybe, finish the book you are reading, delete all then add new books? (Sorry,it's all I got)
If you are going to share content, one iTunes Library, but separate Apple IDs would work better. But that is up to you (I'm also a parent, I get it) I share with my 2 sons.
You mentioned a Kindle. I have one. Never use it, but it is an older one. The paperwhite seems like a good idea. It is absolutely impossible to transfer PDFs to the kindle in a print size big enough to read unless it's
24 pt type going in. Didn't work for me, might work for you. -
I can no longer connect to the internet with iPod touch
My ipod touch just stopped connecting to internet at home and elsewhere. Because it won't connect, I am unable to retrieve the serial number from the settings, which is what Apple support requires before they will help me. The other problem I have is that it won't stay charged and the date/time changes. This happened before I could make the most recent update. Any ideas?
What model iPod?
I suspect the battery is on its last legs or another hardware problem based on the numerous problems but try:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Can I watch videos from my iPod touch 4th gen on my tv
I have purchased a composite video AV cable to TV RCA cable to watch my videos from my iPod touch through my tv. The lead apparently works with all ipod touch and iPhone 4, and all software updated, but I can not change my video settings to play through the tv as I don't have the option to change to tv out.
Does anyone know how to get around this?

All connections are correct, the iPod states that the video is being played through a tv, but nothing shows up on my screen. And yes, I do know which channel to switch to. I just don't have the option on my iPod or iPhone to switch to tv out, whether the cable is plugged in or not. Every where I look for info it says I need to change my options to video out on my iPod settings, but it's not an option available. All I get on my tv is a plain screen as if nothing is connected. -
At a recommendation from my school, downloaded and updated my computer against the recent Flashback software. Now, one night later, I am unable to watch online videos, as the plugins are no longer working. How do I reenable plugins? I cannot see any obvious way to do this via Java Preferences, and the box under Safari Preferences for "enable java plugins" is already checked. What has changed, and what can I do? Since i upgraded my iphone 4s to iOS 6.0, i can no longer watch or view my Movies or Video's in my Music Playlist. I can still view them in my Videos which is not in orderly manner or arragement like i wanted unlike in the Playlist. There is some sort of restrictions i guess. I already checked the Allow All Movies but still the videos does'nt appear. What should I do?

Thank you very much.Similar problem here. My Ical refuses to edit or delete events. Viewing is possible, though sometimes the whole screen turns grey. Adding new events from mail is still possible. The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall.
