I can not add a wmv file to the library. It is not protected

Can not add a video file to Itunes library and even when I try to open the video using "open with Itunes", Itunes start but instead of the video I see the music library

iTunes cannot play nor convert WMV files. You'll need to use a third-party application to convert the video to a format iTunes can accept.

Yes, you can add an image.  Try the following html script with your image.name:
    <img src="http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/images/netscape.gif" width="33" height="32">

  • My itunes stops working when i try to add a music file to the library. how do i fix this?

when I open iTunes and try to add a music file to my library from my computer, I slecet the song and click open and then it just comes up with the error message saying that iTunes has stopped woking and closes the program... ive tried everything- uninstalling and reinstalling the program and even disabling my antivirus software. I have no other ideas about how to fix this?

If you are still having this problem, the fix below takes care of it.  It was posted in another conversation by Sony Singh. I did it, rebooted, and all works!!
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Hope this helps or you've already done the fix, especially since you posted in October.

  • Why can't I import wmv files to my library?

I've edited some home movies in Sony Vegas, and rendered the final files as WMVs to my hard drive. iTunes will not add them to my library - I get a little red ghostbuster symbol over the file icons when I try to drop them in.
These are home videos so DRM cannot be the source of the problem. Any ideas? Preferably ones that don't involve converting all of my home movies to another format? For testing purposes I tried importing an mp4 file - same problem.
    Thanks,
    Stacy

You'll need to clarify your question. MPEG-1 or MPEG-2?
QuickTime Player X or QuickTime Player Pro 7.6.6?

  • How can I add my own files to the TV Shows Library instead of the Movie Library?

I have my own TV Shows in m4v format.  I can drag and drop the TV Shows into the iTunes Movie Library.  How can I add my files to the TV Shows Library?  Can I group them by show in the TV Shows Library?

    Select the files in iTunes.
    Right click - get info.
Select the Options tab and set Media kind to TV Show.
Better yet, use something like MetaZ to tag the files before adding them to iTunes.

  • How to not add songs from Playlists to the library (duplicate entries)

In my iTunes library, I have lots of songs showing up more than once. When I right-click Get Info it seems this is because I have them on playlists that are also in the library. Songs in multiple playlists can even show up more than twice.
I know I can Show Duplicates but it would take me ages. Also I can't tell which songs are direct, and which are from a playlist, unless I right-click and Get Info individually (it probably doesn't matter, but I'd prefer to delete the playlist songs).
How do I edit the preferences so that this doesn't happen, and songs in playlists aren't added again? I looked around preferences and couldn't find anything that seemed to be what I needed.

"Go to Library - Music and click Show duplicates.
Select a duplicate and right click - Show in Windows Explorer.
Everything in the library should be pointing only to an actual file on your HD, not a song in a playlist."
...I'm not sure if you're saying that iTunes shouldn't be behaving like this, but it IS. I followed your instructions, selected Library - Music and clicked Show Duplicates... what I see is 511 entries, most in pairs, some triplets.
    Here's an example:
Two identical entries (bitrate, files size, duration, etc., all the same) for Get Me by Everything But The Girl... clicking Show in Explorer for the first entry opens an Explorer window with the filepath:
    D:\Music\Everything But the Girl\Amplified Heart
...clicking the second entry opens the SAME Explorer window with the same contents but with the filepath:
    D:\Music\My Playlists\..\Everything But the Girl\Amplified Heart
So are you saying that the only way to eliminate these duplicate entries is to individually click each one and check if it's pointing to the original song file or to a playlist that includes that song and then delete it manually? ...for 511 entries? ... and how do I prevent this from happening with any new music I add?

  • Can you add a WMV video to my ipad2, can you add a WMV video to my ipad

I just wanted to know if you can add a WMV file to your ipad2.

Your best choices are ProPlayer, AVPlayerHD (these two have exactly the same WMV decoder) or GoodPlayer. These all have different strengths and weaknesses explained in detail at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/playing-back-wmv-videos-%E2%80%93-complete-rou ndup
Note that the article doesn't recommend Azul Media Player - Video player for your iPad for higher (more than SD) -resolution WMV3 content. Less-demanding WMV3 resolutions and WMV1/2 play just fine in Azul, though.

  • My PC itunes does not add mp4 files in the library.

My PC itunes does not add mp4 files in the library. why?

YEs, files downloaded before Monday are fine, coul add them ti library.
I'Ve now changed the FTP client, from Transmit to Cyberduck, and can now add new files to the library. All files transfered via Transmit however remain unacceptable to iTunes. It is a pity, as Transmit is much faster and user-friendly.
HAve written to Transmit for their input.

  • Can't get a wmv file longer than 30 secs....

If I render my FCE movie (it lasts about 2'30") in wmv format I can't get the entire movie. I only get a 30 secs movie. Why?
I noticed also than if I render, say, an mpeg-4 movie (I get all duration movie) and then I convert it (with QT Pro) in wmv it reduces itself to 30 seconds....
What's the cause of this behaviour with wmv files?

The free app HandBrake cam deal well with .wmvs, converting them to DV etc..
Usually HandBrake is not recommended with FCE but using it on a .wmv file will not cause any degradation worse than the original.
    HB converts it to H.264.
You can then open it in QT Player and Export to almost any format you want.

  • How can I add an AVI file to iMovie?

I have iMovie '11. It won't let me add a .AVI file. If I can't add a .AVI file what is the best FREE software to convert it and what should I convert it to? Thanks!

I agree with the Streamclip suggestion for two reasons.
The first is that it is free and works well.
The second is that Streamclip is so essential that if one doesn't have it on one's computer, one is missing a very fascinating piece of software. Free, converts faster than anything Apple uses, and gives you a little window to see the conversion to make sure everything is going ok.

I honestly don't know if DW CS5 is compatible with Win 8.1.  The OS compatibility FAQ only mentions DW CS6 & CC.

  • Can not select a PDF file in the file uploader window after clicking the Browse... button for a file type input element.

After upgrading to 5 (this worked in 4) I can not select a PDF file in the File Upload dialog that appears when I click the Browse button next to an HTML file type input element. The specific HTML element source code has the attribute: ACCEPT="image/*". I can select image files such as jpg, png, tiff, etc. But not PDF. This worked great in Furefox 4 and works in the latest version of Safari.
The HTML code for the form element is:
    INPUT TYPE="file" NAME="file_1" ACCEPT="image/*" SIZE=35
The File Upload dialog lists all files with PDF extension as dimmed and not selectable in Firefox 5.
    Can you help?

    Hi Purush
Unfortunately we couldn't solve the problem. Our IT specialist checked it with SAP directly. SAP doesn't support the SAP KW solution anymore. Therefore we checked-in the document in ".doc"-Format.

No. To do so you need to install Flip4Mac WMV Player 2.4.4.2.
