I could not pair my iPhone 4 with Powerbook Pro 10.6.8 using Bluetooth. The code # is displayed, but refused.

I am not familiar with the Mini bluetooth system, but in most cars there is a possibility to enter it to see what it was paired to. In that menu delete all earlier devices that it was paired to. Set the bluetooth in the iPhone to off, then to on again, and then let iPhone and car search again: probably they will find each other again and then type the pairing codes.

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. All of the above information matches what I input into my iPhone, and it has worked fine since day 1, so I don't understand the malfunction.
Open /Applications/Utilities/Console. Make sure console.log and system.log are open (or see the File menu).
Try to send an email.
Look for new lines in the log files (it should scroll down automatically so the newest lines are at the end of the log at the bottom of the window). What do you see? (Erase or substitute for any personal info before posting.)
Do you use any firewall software or have you used third-party software or Terminal to configure the builtin firewall?

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store.
