I can not connect my phone to time capsule..whats problem ?

my phone is connected to time capsule but no data is transfer,,,whast problem
time capsule is connect to my mac .and i can use internet ,but i cannot use for my phone...how can i solve it ?

Phones are more sensitive to wireless setup than the computer.. also the computer can use 5ghz.. only the latest iphones have 5ghz. I presume by phone you do mean iphone. Andoid phones actually have some wireless bugs..
Anyhow.. redo the setup of the TC.
Use all SMB names.. for everything (SMB just means windows networking.. it is the lowest common denominator.. everything works with SMB).
So names that are short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
eg. Time Capsule name. TC
Wireless name for 2.4ghz TC24ghz
Wireless name for 5ghz TC5ghz (yes, use a different name for 5ghz).
Hard disk share name.. Data (that is now default but occasionally different).
On v5 utility which you can still load into lion and works much better than later v6 utility.
Also set to fixed radio channels.. try in order, 11, 6, 1.
Tell us if you still have issues.
Did this just happen with the new firmware update to the TC?
What model TC.. A1xxx from the rubber base mat??
What OS is the computer running and what Airport Utility?

Lion 10.7.3 now can not connect to Brand new time Capsule

Guys This is getting old.....I just purchased a new time capsule and it is not recognized by either of my airport utility programs (new one with lion and old one updated to 5.6) what is going on? I unplug it recognizes and then it allows me to enter info ....I just want to use it to back up!!! and then tells me an error occured and it could not find TC so I start again and it's not there so I have to unplug again only to go back to the beginning!!!!!!! Is it just LION?

I had just gotten off the phone with a Apple tech ..whom had no idea what to do ..we tried everything and he basically gave up! I hung up and got it connected!!!!!........apparantly u can not just use this as a backup...when you first set it up..(as is one of the options)? That is how I/we kept trying to set it up because that is all I want to do with it....I had to click the setting for "JOIN" a network in order for the TC to then be recognized. It is a major flaw( among others) in their LION 10.7.3...even the tech said it is a problem with the software..because I filled his ear about how just last week My Airport icon was seeing nothing...There was no wifi! and no way to get on the internet ...So a great guy on this site( jgelements) talked me through restoring Lion which I did just yesterday and it took 5 hoursand I now have the wifi back (how long I'm keeping my fingers crossed)...and Yes I did have a previous TC but after lion it would no longer backup....I kept getting a message that it was full and needed to erased (which I know was incorect ) so after much deliberation I erased the whole TC and the next day it was dead! no light no sound DEAD! so I am half heartedly expecting this new one to not last long..seems Lion is just havoc and will continue to be. But thanks much for your response..I had just purchased it an hour ago and was excited about setting it up...and got thrown off the tracks and instantly posted ..and then called apple. How does a tech let someone off the phone with no answer? If I hadn't tried fiddling with it more I was going to return it...mind you I just purchased it for 319.00 w/tax and was not about to own a brick! Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Even my 12 year old Mac lets me download the newest iTunes. Of course I can't install it but any computer can download the installer files so we need to know precisely what you are trying and what error messages you are seeing.

Have you ever been able to recieve emails on the iPad and on that Wi-Fi network?
The quickest and most likely fix will be testing on another Wi-Fi network.

What TC model and firmware is it?
WD mybook are generally ok.. but the unpowered type will have problems.. you need a powered hub.
And some of the older TC will not handle all versions of some products.. WD keep changing them around.
It is often hard to figure out what works and what doesn't.
I am trying to assemble a database here.

Migration Assistant can not find my backups on Time Capsule

Yesterday I installed a fresh copy of OS X leopard and wanted to recover data from time capsule using migration assistant,the first time that I connected to TC using migration assistant it found everything on my TC and was calculation the size of that account there but suddenly it went away and now when I connect to time capsule it says (migration assistant) that there is 0 backup found. I can myself recover some data from time capsule which I stored just as a disk drive which means that the hard drive of TC is working , the sparsebundle is even there . but no result.
Even when I want to go to time machine with the icon in menu bar it takes too much time says; connecting to server but nothing happens !
Please help all the data from years ago are there !!

For backups on a Time Capsule, you may have to mount the sparsebundle first.
Open Finder. Click on Time Capsule -> Time Capsule Disk -> yourbackup.sparsebundle. Double-click on it and press Skip when prompted. Your sparsebundle should now be mounted on your Desktop.
Try to +Browse Other Time Machine disks+ via the ctrl-click on the TM icon.

How can I connect remotely to my Time Capsule now Mobile Me is gone?

I have a Time Capsule with a trio of external hard drives connected to it where I store all my files and backups.
In the past I used Mobile Me's Back to my Mac so that the USB volumes appeared in the shared area in Finder on all my Macs so that I could access my data from anywhere. Great... But...
Now that Mobile Me is gone, is there any way I can do the same with iCloud on a computer still running Leopard (and thus without an iCloud setup option in System Preferences)?

In terms of my network:
Provided by my local cable company, it includes a 1TB Time Capsule that acts as router and host to a USB hub which holds 3 external drives. The internal TC drive stores my data. One of the external drives holds the Time Machine backups from my various Macs, the other two hold media and backups for my kids' PCs, etc. Also on my network is a 5 port switch to accommodate my kids' game consoles and an old networkable DVD player. On the network are also two Airport Expresses. One of the Expresses extends the range of my wireless to the upstairs and the other hosts an inkjet printer. And, finally, on the network is a TCP-IP HP laser printer.
I have played a bit with apps like LogMeIn and Teamviewer and found they work well for things like baling my folks out of technical difficulties remotely, but preferred the Back to My Mac solution offered by Mobile Me to (relatively) safely and (totally) seamlessly mount my Time Capsule's drives as volumes in the Shared section of my Macs' Finder. No fuss, no muss! ...despite Mobile Me's less than stellar reputation, it worked perfectly for me.
I went back to work this week at my job in education and, at first, privately cursed our IT department for bumping up security over the summer break resulting in blocking my home volumes from appearing. Then I realized, of course, that since last I sat at my desk, the Mobile Me service had be closed down and that was the real culprit for the loss of my mounted home volumes.
And, as established earlier in this discussion, my old iMac was never going to play nice with Lion or better to move up to iCloud, so I was going to have to go back to the drawing board.
I appreciate your eBay suggestion. However, although not a domain client, as my old iMac does reside on the school board's network, I'm fairly certain the VPN route would not be an option. I don't imagine building a secure tunnel to my data storage at home would be a priority to our IT department! <G>
USB Flash drives are a pain to sync and keep track of, but I guess that is what I will have to do for work.

Can you connect to 2 different time capsules?

I have a time capsule airport extreme at home. It connects to all my devices perfectly. So, I bought one for the church because I'm there about as often as I am at home. I wanted to use my airport to extend my existing wireless network at the church (which is working properly) and also use it as an external hard drive (like I do at home). That way I can store all my files in two different places and not have to worry about carrying around a portable hard drive. But it isn't working at the church like I wanted it to. Maybe I set it up the wrong way, but it's been a while since I set the one up at home and now I don't remember what I did.

Apple routers can only wirelessly extend other apple routers.. so at home it might work if you have another apple router.. but not at church if you don't have..
You need to plug the TC into the main router by ethernet and bridge it.. then you can access over the main wireless.. or use a different wireless name on the TC and access it there.

Can I connect my Airport Extreme Time Capsule via ethernet to another router (non-Apple)?

I've been trying to figure this out for a few hours and have gotten nowhere. I have an Archer C7 AC1750 router set up in my office, connected to my Zoom 5341 DOCSIS 3.0 Modem; this has been my main router and has worked fine. I have moved some things around and now have my PS3 and PS4 in my master bedroom but can no longer hook them up via ethernet to the Archer C7. I have run ethernet through the attic into the master bedroom and want to use my Airport Extreme Time Capsule as a way to hook up the consoles via ethernet. If I can use the Airport Extreme to extend my wireless network back to the bedrooms that is even better, although that is an afterthought.
I am not sure what the settings need to be to make this happen. I have searched and tried a number of things but have not found a working solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please start over with a default reset on the Time Capsule. This will not affect any of the stored data that you might have on the drive. You can use the same device name and password that you used before if you wish.
Power up the Time Capsule for a few minutes. Then hold in the reset button firmly for 10 seconds and release. Allow a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a slow, blinking amber light.
Make sure that the Ethernet cable connection from the Archer router connects to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule
Open up AirPort Utility
Click on Other WiFi Devices
Click on Time Capsule xxxxxx
AirPort Utility will suggest a setup, which you want to ignore
Instead, click the Other Options button
Select the Create a new wireless network setting and click Next
In the Network Name box, enter the exact name of your Archer wireless network
In the Base Station name box, enter a name that you want to use for the Time Capsule device
Uncheck the box to use a single password
In the Network Password box, enter the password for the Archer wireless network
Verify on the next line
In the Base Staion box, enter a password that you want to use as a device password for the Time Capsule
Verify on the next line
Click Next and wait while the AirPort Utility creates a network
Ignore the step about unplugging the modem and click Next
Do not enable the Guest Network option and click Next
Wait while the network is being set up. When you see the message that the wireless network is available, click Done
The Time Capsule will now appear in AirPort Utility with a blinking amber light
Click on the Time Capsule icon, and then click on Edit in the next small box that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the window
Change the setting for Router Mode from DHCP and NAT to "Off (Bridge Mode)"
Click Update at the lower right and click Continue
Wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart and you should have a green light
It would be an excellent idea to power off both the Time Capsule and Archer router now, wait a minute, then start the Archer router and let it run a minute. Then, start the Time Capsule up and give it a minute
You should be all set. The Ethernet ports on the Time Capsule are now operable and the wireless network has been extended using AES encryption.

CAn't connect to Internet Through Time Capsule-Self Assigned IP Adress

My iBook battery died. After connecting to power source, I can't connect to the internet. I get a message that the iBook is self assigning the IP address. How do I correct this? I've removed the battery & done several restarts with no success.

Here's 10.4 directions, not to different from 10.5, see if it helps...
Go to System Preferences
Click Network
Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select your access point and Remove your access point with the minus button.
Launch your keychain access in Utilities and delete your access point keychain entry.
Reboot
Go back to the “By default, join:” page and click the plus this time to add your access point. Enter the correct password, save, reboot.

Can't connect Drobo 5D to Time Capsule

Hi,
I have just purchased a Drobo 5D and want to be able to connect it to the USB port on the back of my Time Capsule and use it as a Network Drive.
I also want to be able to use Time Machine to back up to the attached drive.
My first and main problem is that the Drobo drive doesn't seem to be visible when I attach it to the Time Capsule. Under the 'Disks' tab in Airport Utility 5.6 I can only see the Time Capsule device and its default partition.
However, when I attach the Drobo via USB directly to my MacBook Pro there is no problem, the drive mounts and I can use Time Machine to back up to it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I also had/have a problem with my Drobo connecting to my Time Capsule (TC).
I had always had no problem connecting a external drive to the TC, but once I got the Drobo (5D) it would never "see" the Drobo.
The TC would also have no problem seeing/sharing the external [2TB] drive within itself.
I then "experimented" with the Drobo by purchasing a brand new Airport Express (the one that now does "ac" signals), and found that it DOES INDEED see the Drobo - this would therefore led to the TC being the problem (I have the older, 2nd gen TC, built in 2009).
One more item I don't want to forget - initially the new Express did NOT see the Drobo, but once I checked the "Sharing" box (under Get Info) within my computer it did finally see the Drobo (but the TC never did or would).
I am now in the process of transferring all my data from my TC to the Drobo to try (as one last effort) to TOTALLY [Master] reset and wipe the TC to see if it will eventually see the Drobo. If it doesn't then that would mean either the 2009 TC is just too old (old firmware??) or maybe the TC internal USB is just bad.
I mean, once the new Express saw it [the Drobo], that says it ALL! (that the TC is the issue [bad] and the Drobo OK).
I will try to update this post [if Apple will let me re-enter] after I complete the TC data transfer, reset and wipe.

Can't connect ethernet cable on Time capsule without messing Time Machine

I just bought a Time Capsule couple of weeks ago.
I have a mac with time machine enabled on Wi-fi. I also have a vista that I can't get the wireless card to work properly... It keeps disconnecting and connecting from the internet.
So I decided to plug an Ethernet cable between the vista and time capsule. Everything was working great, except that Time machine cannot connect to time capsule as long as that cable is there...
Can't find anything to fix this...
So either solution is fine by me: either some tips on why Vista keeps dropping the internet connection or why my time machine can't back up with an ethernet cable plugged on Time Capsule.

I can't connect to internet using Time Capsule router.

My hard drive recently died. I took the iMac to the Apple store and had a 500 GB hard drive installed. I disconnected my Time Capsule so the Apple rep could restore my data. Now when I try to reconnect to the internet via Time Capsule router, it won't connect. The cable modem is fine, and the Time Capsule's status seems OK with the green light. It even seems to be backing up OK. I don't think I did anything differently, other than unplug it in order to have the Apple rep restore my data. Any thoughts out there?

It sounds like the cable company neglected to mention to you that you must completely reset the modem whenever you change the device that it is connected to. That's because the modem "associates" with a device and "remembers" the settings.
If you then change devices, the modem will "look" for the old device that was connected to it and it will of course not "find" it, so it won't connect.
That's why you need to do the complete sequence that I provided.
If you still cannot connect after the complete reset, then you may have a defective modem. I'm not trying to pick on the cable company....and yours may be an exception...but the last time my modem was having problems, the provider kept insisting that "everything looks good". But, they always say that.
I turned the modem off and called them back an hour later and they still said "everything looks good".
An Ethernet cable has a slightly wider plug than a phone cable. If that's the only connector on the modem, then it must be the right one. Ethernet cables do fail. You might want to check your cable, just in case.

The plex app is a client.. you must be running a plex server in your network..

Since the Apple Time Capsule cannot host any media.. since it has no media extensions it is impossible to support plex server on it. You must run a plex server on a computer or intelligent device.. TC doesn't rate as it is a fixed router with nothing to help you.
