I can not connect to the server

I just installed lion and server lion upgrades. At the beginning everything was fine. I was trying to change some of the parameters of the site. Since i restarted the server it does not recognizes the user/password. It does not open the application. I am logged in as admin. I have even created a new admin user but it does not allow me in. When I hit return the window shakes indicating it does not recognizes the password but how is that possible since I just logged in with that same user and password. The only thing I can think of is that I have changed without realizing the permission for the application to query the system passwords. But I have no idea how I could have done that. One more detail the server site can be accesed as an internet client... so I know it is running.

Try the following:
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo

    Here are some things to try:
    Close itunes
    Check your internet settings.
    Control Panel – Internet Options – Advanced
    Check SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0
    Uncheck “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)”
    Click Apply
    Click Okay
    Open itunes and try again
    And, you don't need to turn off the firewall, just add itunes and itunes helper to your security software firewall.

    Whenever I log into icloud.com
    Using what version of which browser?
    iCloud.com requires Safari 6 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later. Have you tried all of those?
    If you have, have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
    For the first tine since 1989 I'm thinking about buying a PC.
    You'd have exactly the same problems on an 8 year old PC too. It's a bit unreasonable to expect such an old Mac to continue to be compatible as software is constantly updated.
    Saying that, I'm still able to access iCloud.com successfully in Safari v5.0.6 on a PowerPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.5.8, so the problem you're having is likely to be a browser issue, not something inherently wrong with the computer.
    Since all this crap started, Mail won't download my Mac.com or me.com email.
    The iCloud.com website is totally unconnected to Mail's ability to download email via IMAP. Have you checked the mail server settings are correctly setup and up-to-date?

    You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
    Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
    Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
    If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

    Got a Verizon 3G IPad 2 (second one actually). Had the same problem w/both IPads when trying to set up a Verizon Data plan.  I follow the instructions in the manual, but get the error, "connection failed", "connection to the server was lost". "Please try again later".  Again, this is me 2nd IPad in two days, with this same problem.  Has anyone else experienced issues connecting through 3G? 

    Well I called 611 but she told me that since my data plan wasn't set up yet that it wasn't related to that. She suggested I unplug my home router and then plug it back in.  I explained that none of our other devices were having problems, but she recommended this as a first step. Then, if that didn't work to do these steps to reset my ipad2.

    All I had to do was unplug and replug the router. It put up a message that the password was incorrect. (I'd tried putting in the correct password earlier but it hadn't worked. But after the unplug/plug, it worked!!!
    Forgive me if I think this is the stupidest problem/solution I ever heard, but I'm just so glad it's finally working again! I decided to register here, so I could share this fix, in case the next person googles this issue and might be helped.

    i don't think anyone on the forums can offer more than reiterating the info in that message 1 link about your hosts file, making sure you have no antivirus/antimalware/firewall active, making sure you don't have any nanny controls limiting access to certain websites and making sure you're not behind a proxy server.

    After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning network issues:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    Follow these steps to troubleshoot the above issues:
    Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap and Forget this Network.
    Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
    Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
    Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
    Update your device to the latest version of software.

    I'm seeing increasing problems with Safari being unable to connect to websites. When the problem starts to manifest itself you see the error:
    Safari can't connect to the server.
    Safari can't open the page.

    Clearing the cache and resetting Safari will make it go away temporarily, but it always comes back.
