I can not copy the DVDs that I made with iDVD

I have a strange problem: I can not copy from a DVD that I made with iDVD (my footage, nothing with copyright). When I try to make a copy from the first DVD that I burned I receive the message that i do not have enough privieges. I checked the "Get information" tabs and I see at the end "Only read" (not copy). This was the 1st dvd that I burned with my new G4 with superdrive.
Any idea? Thanks for the help in advance

You don't have enough room for all of that. Run a disk repair and think about an external HD.

You should only have to worry about doing this, if you choose to erase and install Snow Leopard.
Snow Leopard by default upgrades your system, and thus a restore would only be necessary in an emergency.

There are many reasons this could be the case but whether an optical disc can be read or not is a function of:
The reflective media layer of the disc
Whether the burned disc was a DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW
The brand, model, and production lot of the disc
The specific frequency of the Write lasers that burned the disc
The specific frequency of the Read lasers that are attempting to read the disc
Are the Read lasers in the drive working (it is common for one set of lasers in a drive to fail while others continue to work)
How old are the Write and Read drives (laser frequencies change with age)
Is there dust on the read laser
Is there dust on the read lens
etc.
At one time it was estimated that fewer than 80% of all burned discs were readable in 90% of the drives. That has, I believe improved over time but at the same time it seems the faillure rate of lasers in the drives has increased but that may simply be the result of how many different read and write lasers there are in today's superdrives. Fortunately todays drives are a lot less expensive the replace -- now that Apple no longer installs optical drives in their computers.

I have asked this over and over all over the internet and no one has an answer. I enjoy my music for a while but when it is time to STOP THE MUSIC I have found but one way - Turn off or power down the device. This is so annoying I have stopped playing and stopped purchasing any and all music of any type. If I can not find a way to do so I will remove all music from my devices until I may hear of how to STOP THE MUSIC. I have seen it is done on Android devices but no Apple devices. Having supported, programmed, configured and taught college level courses for MS based and super computer hardware and software configurations for almost 20 years I am apparently ignorant of differential operations. Previously I had 5 choices on any hardware or software when playing anything like music, video, DVDs or anything similar. I had 'Play' 'Fast Forward' 'Fast Rewind' 'Pause' a n d 'STOP'. Perhaps Apple has found the STOP unnecessary but I thoro enjoyed knowing whatever I was playing had STOPped and could not continue unless I chose to go back to the program or equipment and chose any of the 5 choices except STOP again since I could not STOP a STOP. As I said perhaps I need to reconsider my choices and obvious ignorance. Thanks for all the help.

If I understand correctly, the partition will still be on the disk and therefore mounted on the desktop. You would need to remove that partition to remove the icon.
Be careful if you try this, don't upset the main Macintosh HD partition or you may lose the OS and your files.
And always have a full tested backup of your system before modifing disk partitions.

There is no BIOS in OS X. There is only the EFI stored in ROM that is not user modifiable. OS X is probably checking Bay 0 for the boot drive since that is where it should be. It won't check the Tempo drive since it is treated like an external drive. I suggest you open Startup Disk preferences to see if the Tempo device is selected as the boot device. If it isn't, then select it. That will probably shave off a few seconds in the startup time.

Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
On an iOS device you can only view the last 90 days purchases (and optionally contact iTunes Support if you have a problem with one of them) via http://reportaproblem.apple.com

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

I'm about to order the recovery discs from HP and with any luck be able to bring this laptop back to factory conditionn with all the correct partitions and sizes after I format the hard drive.

Yes our recovery disks will return your unit to the factory state. All the software that came with the unit will be reinstalled. Whatever you added you will have to reinstall.

I am running iDVD v 7.1.2(1158). I used to be able to make dvds that would play in a standard dvd player. As of today I cannot. I do not know what has changed and I do not know what needs to be updated. Can someone assist me?
The dvds that I can make will play from a disk image and they can play perfectly fine in a computer but not in a standard dvd player. I am using an external dvd burner, (The same one have always used) to create the dvds. I am using iDVD to author them.

- Video - StreamingDV .dv or AIC
- Photos as .jpg (only)
- Audio as .aiff 16bit 44.1kHz or 48kHz (ONLY - never .mp3 or directly from iTunes - all converted to .aiff first)
With this I do not mean any setting in iDVD - BUT the raw material used in iMovie / FinalCut / Avid 100 / Adobe Premiere

How did You Export from Video-editing program used ? I prefer
• iMovie HD6 - just drop the movie project icon (NOT iMovie Icon - the PROJECT one) over into iDVD big menu window (avoiding - drop-zones as they are for other tasks)
• iMovie'08 to '11 - Share to MEDIA BROWSER - AND AS MEDIUM - not HD or other resolution as iDVD does a bad downscaling job.
• iMovie'13 (version 10.0.x) - Share as 480p - Import this into iDVD
• FinalCut (Pro or Express) - Export as QuickTime .mov - NO QUICKTIME CONVERSION - IMPORTANT
• Adobe Premiere - I don't know - not tested Yet
• Avid 100 - I don't know - not tested Yet
Cleaning the DVD-burner - If it Burns DVDs OK then that's may be not the problem - But if it only burns CDs OK then either the DVD-burning-laser is dirty or broken.
It is very easy to kill this DVD-laser as it over-heats if one burns several DVDs in a row. I only burn three at a time - then let it cool down for 30 minutes till next batch of three DVDs.

To clarify my issue diesel vdub i updated itunes to 10.7 version after that every time i select some of my songs and click get info, it shows me a message that i tunes can't find the songs original location and a ! icon appears on the song selected after that. all my songs are in a external hard drive and it is connected to the pc and i can acces it but i really don't know what's wrong with the itunes or what it is
