I can not download an update.

Every day for the past week or so, I have received an Update notice. The notice says there is a security & stability update available and it is strongly recommended that I update ASAP. However, when I opt to download the update, my computer responds by attempting to connect to the update server without success. What should I do?

    All content from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it, so the id that shows when trying to download updates should be the account that 'owns' that app. Do you recognise the id that is showing e.g. has anybody else downloaded or synced content to your iPad ?

    It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

    You can't update on-device storage like that...you are probably referencing iCloud storage, which doesn't effect your on-board memory.  Plug your phone in to iTunes and download the update that way...no deleting apps or anything...it's much easier.

    Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    Note: Data will not be affected.

  • I can not download or update any of my apps on my ipad2.  Please assist.

    I have tried all of the following and none have helped:
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
    If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

    Gee, those suggestions look familiar to me.
    Are you getting the "waiting" icons or stalled downloads? Or are you getting the blank update page that many, many users are experiencing currently? The blank white updates screen is an Apple issues and you can't fix that. If the downloads are "waiting" ....
    Did you try tapping on one of the icons to see if you can pause it? Ifyou can pause one one of them, try pausing the rest of them and then tap on one at a time to see if they will start to download again
    Did you try rebooting your router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds?
    Do you have enough space left on your iPad to download or update your apps?

    1: the equipment you're using and any software you're currently running
    2; a brief synopsis of what apps or software you're trying to download.
    At the bottom of any community members' replies it will have a brief list of the equipment they have and whatever software they're running.
    Could you please be more concise with the details of what you are trying to do, and we are more than happy to help. Even more experienced members have problems from time to time.
    It would also help if you could take a screenshot to illustrate what you are experiencing.
    To do that, if you are using a keyboard, press 'Command', 'shift' and '4'. A 'crosshair' looking like a gunsight will appear on your screen. With your mouse, or trackpad, finger depressed, move the crosshair to the onscreen image, move the crosshair across (from the top left corner) and drag down (to the bottom right corner) until you've covered the area you want to show and just release your finger. the screen shot will appear on your screen. To show it as part of your query page, click on the camera icon and a window will appear asking you to choose an image or file. Click on the screen shot, and then click on 'Insert. Job done.

    I have tired several weeks to download the new update for itunes. I just bought an Ipad today and was trying to update it as well as my phone so that I can be up to date on everything. However, it says "The program can't start becase MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I have tried to reinstall it several times and nothing works. Any help is appreciated.

    With your MacBook, when you connect your iPhone to the MacBook, iPhoto should open up. It will download all of the photos to your MacBook, and when it's done, it will ask if you want to delete them. Do it then. Now, given the number of photos, this is going to take a while. Honestly, that's a lot of photos.
    Now, we can get more complicated here if you want, but I never store photos on the iPhone, except for a few of my kids and my motorcycle (don't ask, but for someone with a motorcycle, it's nearly equivalent to kids). Sort your photos by creating albums. Then go into iTunes, click on your iPhone (when it is connected), and one tab should say Photos. You can click on those photos you want to sync to your iPhone.
    This should be easy. If you have further questions, just ask, and don't forget to give me a "Solved" when you're done!

  • Can not download Redshift Udate 1.5 on my iPad2

    Good Morning!
    Since about two month (since Redsift 1.5) is available I can not download
    this update to my iPad2.
    Download is stalled after a couple of minutes and ends with a message
    similar like 'Can't Download - Done / Retry'.
    When I try to download the App via my MacBookPro, download is stalled
    after about 55-60MB too - no further error message.
    iTunes is up-to-date, my iPad2 is up-to-date with the latest software.
    No problem with any other App.
    I have removed the App a couple of times and tried to re-download, no change.
    I have completely restored the iPad2, no change.
    Does anybody have any idea what I can try next? At the moment I feel like
    a Microsoft user... never had such a bad experience with Apple since more
    than 20 years:-(.
