I can not edit my itunes account.

i am having trubal getting on to my itunes account to cange my information. when i push edit i get a message saying " we could not complete your itunes store request an unknown error occurred [-1202]"

The only way to set up an AppleId with a card is to so so when creating the ID.
You best option would be to set restrictions on teh iPad to prevent app and in-app purchases adn itunes purchases (Settings App > General > Restrictions [turn ON and set the code] > [turn OFF: Installing apps, In-App Purchases, iTunes Store, iBooks Store (and any otehr functions you wish to control)]

  • Is mandatory to have a credit card to my account? and if I do not have a credit card I can not make a Itunes Account?

    Hi people!
is mandatory to have a credit card to my account? and if I do not have a credit card I can not make a Itunes Account?

    Hi,
In addition to Roger's post, you will need a credit or debit card at a future date if you want to buy from Istore.
You can use itunes gift cards that have been purchased from external sources. Card needed if to want to buy gift card from Istore.

  • Can not edit a User Account

    Hello,
i have a Problem with the Server APP on my MacMini. I had to renew my Domain Name. Everything works good (DNS, Open Directory). But now i can not edit a User Account, or apply a new User on my Server.
The Plus / Minus Button is grey, and it is not possible for me to edit something under this service.
    I need Help, Please

Same problem here on an Intel iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.11 - would like to delete an outdated user account (standard), but would like to keep a safety copy of all files before deleting.
When using Accounts in System Preferences - and choosing "save contents of user's home folder to folder 'deleted users' " ... all I get is the endlessly spinning wheel along with the spinning beach ball instead of the mouse curser.
    Very annoying...
Is there any way around the Delete Immediately solution ?

  • I am in south africa, just bought a voucher for us$ to get stuff from US itunes....but i can not create us itunes account, i am in south africa, just bought a voucher for us$ to get stuff from US itunes....but i can not create us itunes account

how can i buy stuff in US istore with a voucher i just bought.... I am in South africa and can not create a itunes account in the US

You can't, you can only buy content from your own country's store - to be able to buy from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying from it. You will either need to make do with what is in the South African store (and I know that it hasn't got the same content as in other countries), or for music you could use other music purchase download sites that you have access to (and you can copy your own CDs).

I can not access my itunes account

Going on the page that you've posted from I assume that you've forgotten the answers to your security questions (?). If you have forgotten them and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use, or you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

When I try to restart Apple Mobile Device Service I get the following message: "The Apple Mobile Device Service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs". What does this mean?
During the last 48 hours I was able to see my iPad in iTunes only one time during many attemnpts to connect . I haven't been able to see it during the llast several attempts.
Any suggestions? The standard suggestions have not worked: i.e. stop then start AMDS; tuurn off iPad and PC, then restart both and reconfrom iPad to PC; reload iTunes.

  • I can not acces my itunes account or stores on any of my computers

I receive the error in iTunes - "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost."
I can access any other site, including to watch HD video, with no issue.

Same issue here. I updated to iTunes 10.5.3 (Mac) yesterday, and today I can't log in to iTunes Store or my account from my MacBook Pro. I suspect 10.5.3 updater is the issue, but can't be sure.
I get the following error message:

  • Can not get my itunes account verified.

Since updating my itunes account last April, I have not been able to get through the verification process. I click the "verify" to send a verification email, but it never gets to my email. I was with Apple's support for 45 minutes Sunday night. They say the emails were sent and did not bounce back, so I should contact my mail provider. I have checked my spam folder and even called my mail provider's support. They say nothing of the sort has come from Apple. I'm getting rather frustrated over all this. Has anyone had this experience and can anyone help? I can't download anything from Apple for my computer or iphone. Is there some special source for this email from Apple that is not recognized at my end? Thank you for any help.

We're not Apple, but you can contact iTunes Support:  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • I have a new computer and I can't access my Itunes account.  The message says that I am allowed to have only 5 authorized computers on this account.  I do not have 5 authorized computers on my account.  What can I do?

I have a new computer and I can't access my Itunes account.  The message says I can't have more than 5 computers on this account and I don't.  What can I do?

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out.  Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

  • I can log into my iTunes account but can not access my account details, what's wrong?

I'm starting a new discussion here even though there is really nothing new to add to this discussion:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3572699?start=0&tstart=0
I can sign in to iTunes with my apple ID no problem. However when I click account from the drop down menu (by my ID in the right hand corner of the iTunes screen) I get a sign in window in which my ID is filled in but it wants my password which I duly fill in . At this point the window just keeps coming back up for me to fill in. If I fill my password in wrongly I get red text telling me so.
So basically I can't view my account details even though I'm clearly logged in. I'm increasingly worried because If I can't access my iTunes account data how do I know my credit card is not being used by someone else?
I'm guessing it's a problem specific to my machine (MBP running up to date Lion) I'm wondering if it could be connected to the safari cookie problem that affects other issues with pop up windows as documented (and solved) here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3502463?start=45&tstart=0
Only I don't have that problem any more!
Help would be very much appreciated.

    Problem solved!
I started to suspect that the problem was with my computer rather than the apple servers.
Reparing disc permissions from Disc Utility seemed like an obvious thing to try but I thought I had done this without it working. However on OSX daily  I read..."In mac OSX Lion repairing permissions from the Disk Utility app doesn’t repair the users file permissions"! Hmm nice one Apple- reparing permissions does not repair permissions! It seems that you have to use disc utility from recovery mode.
I then followed these instructions on OSX daily (dot com)
Repairing a Mac Boot Disk with Disk Utility & OS X Lion
Reboot the Mac and hold down Command+R  (To boot into recovery)
Select “Recovery HD” at the boot menu
At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select “Disk Utility”
Select the boot volume or partition from the left menu and click on the “Repair” tab
Repair Disk is now possible, click on “Repair Disk” to repair the boot volume
Now verify disk permissions and repair them
This solved the problem for me
    Hope it helps......
Am I allowed to award myself a greenie? Well I'm going to anyway because it was a pile of work getting to the bottom of this and I hope it helps others.

  • I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but: 1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one... and 2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I

    I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
    1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...
    and
    2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • HT203167 When I purchased a new iPad it asked me to create a iTunes account I did so by mistake not realizing that you can only  have one iTunes account. All my music is on my original account so I want to stay with that account.

I have opened a second iTunes account when I purchased my iPad and downloaded movies and books to it that I have purchased on that account. All my music is on my original iTunes account so I was told at the apple store to keep that account only or I will loose all my music purchases. Is there a way to take my movies and books and apps I paid for to be put on my old iTunes account so I can close the new iTunes account I am not using?

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
