I can not eject my ipod from Itunes as the device icon no longer shows up in Itunes. I looked on line but none of the solutions were possible to follow as the various options indicated just weren't there!

Reset the device did not help me but it does triggers me to attempt to resend the PDF file attachment on email--and it works the 2nd time. My problem is now solved.
The Adobe Reader is very helpful--it allows me to scroll through the document easily, unlike iBooks, where I cannot scroll straight up or down.

Do you have a used device, or did you purchase the device new and set it up. If this was a used device, then the iCloud ID that you see is more than likely the original owner and they did not remove it from their account. The only way to activate the device is to make contact with the original owner to have them remove it. If you cannot contact them, then you will not be able to activate the device. There is no way around it and Apple will not assist you in unlocking it or contacting the former owner.

I just move from ipod photo to a new ipod video but after synchronizing with Itunes and try to eject it there is a message display that says that the Ipod can not be ejected because it is been used by other application. I hope someone can help me with this

This happened to me today. Are you using the iPod as a hard drive? If you are, then maybe there's something on your iPod that is open. You can't eject iPod if there's something on it that's open.

I can not open up itunes using the desktop icon

I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version if itunes. I cannot get itunes to open up by clicking on the desktop icon. I keep getting the message"Do you want to allow this program to make changes?" The program is Apple Inc. I click on yes but nothing happens. I have set itunes to run as the adminstrator. We'd better check to see if it's a compatibility mode issue.

In iTunes, under the "Store" menu, you can select "Deauthorize this computer". That will remove that computer from your iTunes account and free up a spot for the new computer.
If you have already sold or wiped your previous computers, you can log into your iTunes account from the Store menu in iTunes by selecting "View My Account xxxx@xxxx". Once you are logged in, about 1/4 the way down the page it will tell you that you have "xx computers are authorized......". Beside that you have the option to deauthorize all of the connected devices. That is the only option, you will have to deauthorize all and then set up the ones you want to use.
I think 10 is the maximum number of devices that can sync to one iTunes account.

Can not use SSH after renaming the device - 3640 Router

Used SSH to change the device name, wrote the config and logged out of the box. When I attempted to use SSH to get back into the box, it would not connect. The user and password is valid for apple not for I cloud.

You cannot create an iCloud account on Windows. You can do so on a Mac or an iOS device and then log into it with your Windows PC.

I have an iphone 5. When I attempt to use the same, the touch sreen responds CRAZY, or RANDOM, like an invisible finger is pressing another area of the screen. I can not consistantly or hardly OPEN the device by "slide to unlock".

The DEVICES section no longer appears!

Hello! Happens that there was a time when, if I opened the app on my iphone and had the desktop version running, there would appear a section titled "DEVICES". I thought it was a problem with my (then) current iphone, but now even with a new one, nothing changed. The thing is that that way I could add songs from my local files to MY MUSIC list, (that's how I listened to Taylor Swift on Spotify), but now I can only add local files to separate playlists, and now if I play MY SONGS playlist on my phone, it won't include these songs. Did this feature disappear? Is there a way I can do what I intend to? Note 1. Even though the DEVICES section no longer shows up, I can stream and control the music and volume from the computer to the phone, so... the computer does detect my phone (?). The devices section will be coming back in a future update.
In the meantime:
You won't be able to see an indication in the desktop client that the device is paired with the desktop client. But as long as they both are on the same WiFi network you should be able to trigger the local files sync by toggling the offline toggle on the playlist on your device. Just make sure that the local files are in a playlist of their own (not just the built in local files playlist) so that this will work.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. "iPod Touch can not be backed up. The file needed can not be found" This is an error message I got when trying to restore my iPod Touch today after the volume bar disappeared!

Today the volume bar disappeared on my iPod Touch leaving me with no volume control. When I tried to do a restore I got the message "iPod Touch can not be backed up. The file needed can not be found" I'm in a double whammy here. First off has anyone ever got and cured either problem?

Problem solved thanks to another post here on the same topic.
1-Opened i Tunes & Connected iPod Touch
2- Unchecked "Open iTunes when connected"
3 - Synched iPod
4- Hit "Apply"
5- Checked "Open iTunes when connected"
6- Synched iPod
7 - Hit "Apply"
8- Ejected iPod and closed iTunes
9- Re-connected iPod Touch
10- iTunes opened automatically!
