Apple mobile device usb driver not digitally signed
I installed(updated) itunes 12.1.1.4 64-bit on wildows 7. Then, it can not recognize iphones and ipods any more.
I tried every means to fix this, updating windows and itunes, uninstalling and installing, rebooting and restarting.......
Finally, I find that the apple mobile device usb driver is not digitally signed. I found this when I open the computer/manage/device manager/portable device/iphone/update driver. Windows installed mtp usb driver for apple products and indicating the related apple driver software cannot be installed.
what's wrong with this? should I wait until apple solve this problem?I suggest you try the "for older video cards" version...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

So I connected my iPod to iTunes and an error message came up saying it needed an updated version of iTunes 64 bit and I was missing the Apple Mobile Device USB driver so I downloaded it because another discussion said that was the solution. I did but it wont show up in my device manager or services. Can someone help me figure out whats wrong?

TS1538 What do I do after step 6 in "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed"?
i'm very confused about step 5, "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed" > "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed", what do I do after step 6? I looked for and found the entry that recognizes the device as a camera, "Apple iPhone, now what? I'm trying to resolve an issue. After an iTunes upgrade in July 2012, I have not been able to get my iTunes to recognize any of my devices. I have uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes, all the steps. Now I'm on this one and I don't know what to do after this step 6. I looked and found the entry.... now what??? I am out of room on my phone because everything I buy on iTunes on the computer mysteriously appears on my iPhone 4, and everything I buy on my iPhone mysteriously uploads onto my iTunes the next time I open it. My phone will charge when connected to the computer, and Windows recognizes it and asks how I want to open pictures, etc. But in iTunes it will not show up under Devices. This is getting beyond ridiculous and I have to get some of this music off of my phone!
Found a possible solution for me.

I updated to iTunes 10.7 and now iTunes does not see my iPod touch. After the update I got a message that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver could not be installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 3 times, but still cannot fix the problem. I have followed the suggested fixes in Apple Support. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Try the actions here for that driver.

I recently purchased my iPod touch with no issues. After updating to iOS 8.1.1 I found that my iPod would no longer appear in the latest version of iTunes and when I searched for Apple Mobile Device usb driver in the device manager, it was nowhere to be found. I've already uninstalled and re-installed ALL components of iTunes and read every single help article. I've tried everything. What went wrong?

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver Not Working (Code 10)
i have a windows 8 laptop and the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" in the Device Manager recently stopped working, it has this little yellow triangle with a '!' in it next to it. i have restarted my computer/iphone several times, i've reinstalled itunes a few times, i've tried different USB ports and different cords.
it also says "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Please let me know if you have had and fixed this problem
thanksYep...^^
I just fixed my ipod nano problem on my own and figured I'd share as I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to trouble shoot all of Apple's problems...following everyone's tips...nothing worked until I figured it out on my own.
I'm running windows 7 and have an Ipod Nano (6th Gen). Hard drive crashed on computer. Replaced HD. Everything works fine now. Downloaded iTunes along with all other programs. Nano wouldn't show up or sync on iTunes. Said Device Driver Software was not successfully installed (some USB problems). Tried everything. Finally, I figured it out.
Disconnect Nano. Uninstall iTunes AS WELL AS
Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update. Apple only
tells you to uninstall iTunes and reinstall..restart computer bla bla bla. I said screw it and uninstalled all Apple programs (well, the listed ones above). I hooked up my nano to my computer to make sure the device manager recognized it without anything else plugged in...and it did. I unplugged it. Reinstall iTunes and all three other Apple programs listed above will also reinstall. I opened iTunes and plugged in my nano. It started with the "installing device driver software" and I was sure
it wasn't going to work. Well, it did work. My nano showed up in the upper right bar of iTunes and synced. Unreal... I unplugged my nano and plugged in the wife's. Once again, "installing device driver software." Voila! Her's showed up and synced too. I plugged mine back it to make sure it worked and it did. I'm done. It's working. Hope these steps work for you as well. -
My ipod will not connect to itunes. I reset the ipod touch. uninstalled itunes and installed it. Turned off firewall however the device manager still does not show Apple mobile device usb. What should i do next? I have windows 7.

Unable to install Itunes 10.1 or 10.1.1 -Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
Unable to install Itunes 10.1 or 10.1.1 and have it sucesfully install the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. It keeps coming up with an error that the driver is unsigned or disappears completely from device manager.
I have tried full uninstall including cleaning registry keys and file system. If I uninstall and re-install 9.2.1 usb driver works perfectly and I have no issues synching with phone or seeing the phone in Itunes.
I have tried repair installs, updating the drivers by pointing to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
I have tried removing all USB devices and having them reinstall from Windows after a reboot. Nothing seems to work.
I just got a new IPAD and cannot use it because I cannot install 10.1 at least to have it connect. It came with IOS 4.2.1 on it.I also encountered the same problem.
and yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes 10.1.1 bla bla blahhh....
Same issue!!! itunes cannot open cuz the mobile device support not started etc..
but when reinstalled prior itunes version 9.2 its gone
and issue fixed.
i can sync my 3G.
but not my 4G. it says you need to upgrade to 10.1 or above
spending the whole night to fix the problem which never occured b4
i finally find out one thing.
pl keep in mind im not a computer exprt
i tried this and it worked, i don know what fixed it, bt it works
try this at your own risk. some comp genius will tell us weather this way is right or not.
ok. lets start...
in your desktop make a new folder. name it Kmh_\CoreFP
try uninstalling the newer version 10.1
only the itunes not other mobile div suprt, application suprt etc.
dont mind the following order:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
and reinstall itunes 9.2
go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
you wil find a folder named "CoreFP"
copy it and paste to Kmh_\CoreFP
uninstall itunes 9.2
and reinstall itunes 10.1 again
go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
you wil find folder named "CoreFP"
find the difference in properties comparing the one u stored in Kmh_\CoreFP
ok delete it and replace it with the one we stored stored in Kmh_\CoreFP
restart the computer and start itunes now
what happens?
best of luck.
-Kmhm63
reinstall the newer version 10.1
I would suggest that you revert back to prior working version until Apple comes out with an update that fixes what 10.1.1 broke. -
Where is the link to download apple mobile device USB driver software
I need to download apple mobile device USB driver software but can't find it onlie. Advice where i can download it from much appreciated.
I had the same problem with my iTouch when I upgraded to iTunes 10. I'm not sure if my problem was the same as with the nano but every time I reinstalled iTunes and plugged in my Touch, I got an error message for driver installation and the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager with a little yellow exclamation mark. The error message that came up stated something about the digital signature of the driver not being right. The fix that worked for me was as follows:
Delete the 2 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver files. If you right click on the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver in Device Manager and select properties it will tell you where they are located in the windows folder. My 2 files for windows 7 64 bit were:
usbaapl64.sys
usbaaplrc.dll
With ipod disconnected, restart computer and press F8 to enter boot menu.
Select boot option without digital driver signature support.
After boot, connect ipod and driver should automatically install correctly without error.
Good Luck
I called Apple and they would not provide any unpaid support for iTunes issues. -
Apple mobile device usb driver
Purchased an iPhone4 (not S) a week ago. On initial attempt to sync to iTunes, phone did not show up in left pane of window. Called Apple support and after an hour of fruitless attempts to resolve by trying other USB ports, etc., was advised to unistall iTunes and all other Apple software in a very specific order and then reinstall. Following reinstall, phone was recognized and iTunes opened when phone was connected. However, since then, phone has failed to connect numerous times and only way I can get it to connect (other than unistalling and reinstalling all software again, which i have done twice more) is to open device Manager and unistall the apple mobile device usb driver, plug in the phone and then it reinstalls the driver and all is well until the next sync. Needless to say, this is a pain in the butt each time I want to sync.
Anyone have any ideas?? Running Windows XP Home on a P4 Dell system.Hi jfsleo,
