I can not install os x mountai lion
Hi,
I am trying to instal the new os in my mackbook, but I can not do it. I accept the terms and when I must choose in which hard disc I want to install the os. when I choose my hard disc, the only I have, I do my copies in an external disc, appears a note that told me: this hard disc is the one that I use when I do my copies and I cant not install the hard disc. How I could solve that problem.

Depending on the capacity of the startup disk, make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
Example: A 500GB drive would need 75GB free space minimum.
If necessary, you can use Safe Mode to free up space.

Thanks for the help. I could downloaded in an apple store in my city that had a better conection that mine. May be this information is helpfull for other one with the same problem. The file is very big so its necessary to have a very good connection to internet to downloaded in the right way.

Just what it says - install os 10.6.5 before proceeding further. You can either do so through Software Update or use the Combo update from Apple's download site.
You should repair permissions and restart your computer prior to updating and upgrading. -

Somehow, a Backups.backupdb folder got created on your startup drive.
You won't find it via a Spotlight or Finder search, so open your internal HD via the Finder.
That folder is at the top level. Just delete it. -
OS 10.6.8 on documents created by Pages 3 will not open

i was installing windows 8 on mac by boot camp and after i put the windows code and choose the partition i formatted the boot camp sector it said windows can not install on this sector because it is gpt
Reinstalling Mavericks depends on several factors:
if you erased your recovery partition
what OS originally came on your Mac.
I'll assume you don't have a backup available that you made before your mishap, because you didn't mention it.
That's really the take home message here: have a backup!
If you still have your recovery partition:
boot into the recovery partition (command R at restart)
use the recovery partition to reinstall Mavericks. see: OS X: About OS X Recovery
if you do not still have your recovery partition, then it depends on whether your Mac originally came with installer disks or not.
If it originally came with installer disks, you would boot from the installer disks, erase your HD, and then reinstall the OS that is on the installer disks, and then upgrade as necessary until you get to Mavericks.
If your mac did not originally come with installer disks, but you managed to erase your recovery partition, then you can try to boot into internet recovery (option-command-R at restart), and use internet recovery to erase your HD and reinstall the OS that originally came with your computer, and then upgrade to Mavericks if you need to. As said, I can't install OS X Montain Lion without getting this error message in the log during installation ; Failed to verify Essentials.pkg: xar_verify failed
I've read a lot on the forums and googling this error message, and I've been reading lots of people saying it's a RAM issue. So I recently replaced my RAM from original 1gbx2 to 2gbx2 sticks without any success.
Is there an easy solution for this problem out there? Or is it something else in the hardware that is faulty?
Worth mentioning is; the problem resides with my Macbook 13 inch late 2009 and i'm using a USB stick for the installation

SebastianSince Mountin Lion does not come on a DVD, did you prepare this DVD yourself? If so, how did you do it? Is it a full Mountain Lion installation that was placed on the DVD?
You might want to restart, hold the Option (Alt) key and select the DVD as the boot device, a hard drive that has been formatted will not show since that restart process only shows volumes that are bootable.
Select Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility.
Select the new Western Digital hard drive.
Select Partition in the DU main window.
Select Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) for the first partition if you want more than one.
Select from Options, GUID
Then Apply
Even though you did the format once, do it again incase something is messed up. Now close DU.
From the DVD ML Utilities you need to select Install Mac OS and point that to the Western Digital hard drive...if your DVD has been properly created it should have no problems installing on the new hard drive. -

It depends. If you purchase an OS upgrade it can be installed on up to 5 devices that are registered with your ID. However if you purchase a computer with that OS you cannot install it on other computers you own. The OS that comes with your computer is tied to the computer and not your ID.
