I can not open any new tabs anymore. Any Ideas

When i click on the new tab button it does nothing even if i right click on it and choose open.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • I can't open a new tab anymore; what happened?

In the last few days, when I try to open a new tab, nothing happens!

Go to '''Tools Add-ons''' in there, you may notice the ASK logo. If you have the '''Trillian ToolBar''' that could be causing it also. I just found out it is associated with ASK.

  • The + button or "open a new tab" does not correspond. I also tried with Ctrl+T but I can not open a new tab unless I click on a link in the existed tab. What can I do?

I have seen nothing relevant in options

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.

  • Middle mouse button will not open a new tab anymore

The problem started yesterday. I did upgrade from 4 to 5, however, it started a few hours before hand.
I tried restarting in safe mode, still won't work.
My about:config is the way it's supposed to be: (middlemouse.openNewWindow;default;boolean;true) and the other three options are false.
and i checked my mouse options through control panel and couldn't find anything.
    so now what
on a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge running Win7

I got this problem after upgrading the ultranav driver. Then I found a solution in the interwebs:
    Start > Control Panel
    Mouse
    TrackPoint
Choose Scrolling or Magnifying Glass Function: Neither
It did the trick for me. It seems that the driver "auto selected" "Scrolling"

  • I can not get a new tab to open. It opens a new tab when I go to Firefox Help but not when I want to open a bookmark of other web site.

When I click on the tab bar I will not open a new tab.

That can be a problem with the Ask<i></i>.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • I can not open the bookmarks tab or use the right mouse button in firefox

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1053467 /questions/1053467]''
I recently downloaded firefox to my new laptop. I can not open the bookmarks tab or use any of the right mouse button options.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • Even if homepage is selected it does not open in new tab

even if homepage is selected it does not open in new tab.when i opened Firefox the previous website which i opened is coming .please give me answer.

I guess it is too much to ask your users to middle-click the Homepage button to get their Homepage in a new tab.
I don't think Mozilla is even interested in "Enterprise" any longer. The new Fast Release schedule for Firefox doesn't meet the needs of the corporate community for long term support, so I guess they aren't valued any longer. Mike Kaply has written about this situation repeatedly this year. <br />

The only way i can get a new tab open is to click on a somewhere and hope it opens in a new window, can anyone help me solve this issue please?

  • I can't open a new tab unless I right click a link and hit "open in new tab"?

I can't open a new tab unless I right click a link and hit "open in new tab."
I click ctrl+t, click the new tab button, right click the tab bar and hit "new tab", and even click "File" and hit "New Tab", but it still won't open a tab!
This has been going on for a week!
I know it may not seem like too much of a problem since I can still open a tab, but it's terribly inconvenient that I can only open one by clicking a link.

  • I can not open iphoto and itune anymore

anyone knows why i can not open iphoto and itune anymore/

I have rerun the applications install dvd, but it has not corrected the fault. When I try to open iphoto's I have an error message that says You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.
    Peter,
the version you installed from the DVD is probably older than the version you used last with your library, so you need to update to the last version you used.
I have tried to update to the latest iphoto 11 but it wont download. Any answers please.
Where are you trying to download from? When you upgrade a version that is installed from the DVD, you need to update from the Software Update menu entry in the Apple-menu.
Also, iPhoto has to be called simply "iPhoto", not iPhoto '11 or something similar and to be installed in the Applications folder. Otherwise it will not be recognised by the updater.
    Regards
    Léonie
