Did you try updating it? The current version is 9.2.2
When re-installing it, did you delete the receipts first?

I CAN NOT open Iphoto with the new Mavericks????
I can not open Iphoto with the new Mavericks, I changed Dutch for English but stil nothing ....
Hi Kevertjes,
Thank you for the update. I recommend verifying that you are signed in with the same Apple ID associated with or used to purchase iPhoto on the App Store under the Store menu.
If you are signed in with an alternate Apple ID, I recommend signing out of the App Store, signing back in with the correct Apple ID, and then trying the update again:
Sign out
Choose Store > Sign Out.
Sign in using an Apple ID
Choose Store > Sign In, or click Sign In in the Quick Links section. The Quick Links section is located in the right part of the window shown when you click Featured, Top Charts, or Categories in the toolbar.
Enter your Apple ID and password, and then click Sign In.

I can not open iPhoto, are all my pictures lost?
I used iPhoto just yesturday, but today when I went to open it it would not open and instead showed a question mark where the application is in my dock. I am very worried that if I can not open iPhoto all of my pictures will be lost. My main concern is not necesarliy getting iPhoto to work but retreaving my pictures. They are very importnt to me.
Thanks to who ever can helpTo re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -

I can not open iphoto on my imac.. somebody knows why?
I have iphoto on my imac, but i cna`t use it anymore.. i can not open iphoto and i don`t know what happened?? Somebody know something about this problem?
With the lack of information this is only a guess: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I can not open Iphoto, my library crashed!!!
I can not open Iphoto, my library seens to be curruted. I tried to use option command function but nothing happens. I just can see that it is trying to update the software, step 1 of 11. Please can someone help me?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I can not open iphoto and itune anymore
anyone knows why i can not open iphoto and itune anymore/
I have rerun the applications install dvd, but it has not corrected the fault. When I try to open iphoto's I have an error message that says You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.
Peter,
the version you installed from the DVD is probably older than the version you used last with your library, so you need to update to the last version you used.
I have tried to update to the latest iphoto 11 but it wont download. Any answers please.
Where are you trying to download from? When you upgrade a version that is installed from the DVD, you need to update from the Software Update menu entry in the Apple-menu.
Also, iPhoto has to be called simply "iPhoto", not iPhoto '11 or something similar and to be installed in the Applications folder. Otherwise it will not be recognised by the updater.

Can not open iPhoto now that Yosemite is in place HELP..
Loaded update and now am without iPhoto....can I trash iPhoto and reinstall? Might that help.....right now when I hit open it goes to update library and stops responding.........left it 24 hours to see if it was actually process or just stuck....just stuck was the answer.....Don't want to lose my photos nor access to them.....I am not a computer person therefore got Apple so that I life would be easy....guess I was wrong....any help you can provide would be appreciated.
CYou need to update iPhoto to version 9.6 for Yosemite.
If you do not see an update on the AppStore Updates page, move the iPhoto application to the Trash (don't empty the Trash), then sign into the AppStore and download Photo from the main, "featured" tab. Type iPhoto into the search field. -

I can not open iphoto or itunes - message is that "the program quit unexpectedly"
I am not able to open iphoto or itunes from our family computer. It attempts to open and then gives the message saying i photo quit unwxpectedly.
Hello,
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying to open them. -
I have been trying to download the new Iphoto update but on step 5 0f 9 it hangs up at 97% and will go no further. Can not see my picutres in IPhoto of even close this without going to Force Quit. will not let me download any of my new photos from my camera. I have tried all the instructions in TS2383 but does not work
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and start again. -
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner. -
I can not open iphoto window says it is incomplete or damaged
There is a "do not enter" (cirlce with a diagonal line) sign over my iphoto. when i try to open it says iphoto can open, damaged or incomplete. Help!
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it doesn't then the problem lies with your current library. In that case if you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
