You haven't given us enough information to do anything other than throw random guesses your way.
Version of Reader? File type? Downloaded and saved to your desktop or are you clicking a link?
Opening in browser or using File>Open in Reader?

Please follow the steps given below:
1.Delete all the files from following folders:
2.C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
3. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
4. And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
5. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Now, launch the product and activate again with a new serial number.
I hope this would resolve your issue.

You need to keep the keys pressed for several seconds. Close down Elements. Hold down the CtrlShiftAlt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys until you get the settings option. You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?Click on YesThen wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences. Possibly I have the same situation. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. I have posted a question and no one at Apple has responded to me yet. Diagnostics say my laptop cannot reach the Apple site. I have a desktop that accesses just fine via the same network. Clearly it appears to me a permissions issue with the new software that my laptop does not auto adjust to or for. I am running XP Pro on both machines and have no problem accessing the internet, as you can see.

In FF 25 on XP there was a star to left of navigation toolbar to open bookmarks sidebar, now it's on the right, but does not open the sidebar - what's up?

I want that little star back that opens the bookmarks sidebar. It's just to the left of the address field on XP in FP 25. But on Windows 8 in FP 25.0.1 it's not there. Instead there's a star that sometimes appears on the right of the address bar. But the star on the right does not open the bookmarks sidebar. It only displays a list of bookmarks and options, which do not include opening the sidebar.
Has this option been removed and replaced with Ctrl B?

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Apps will not open at login. what can i do?

hi,
i've set a few of my apps to open at login/startup. the problem is they never open, i have to open each of them manually. it is really frustrating. i've set my apps through System Preferences and the apps themselves. is there anything i can do to remedy this situation?

After my update to OSX 10.6.6 today I am not able to open my mail application anymore. I can't check my emails and I need to work on Monday! Who can help me please? I tried downloading the SecUpd2012-004.dmg and installed it with mail being in the applications folder. Still no luck! I also ran disk utility before...:(

Fellow user Grant Bennet-Alder offers this solution:
Some users have reported this problem if the Mail Application has been moved out of the top-level /Applications folder, or duplicated in another location.
When the Security Update is done, the old version of Mail is disabled.
The solution has been to:
1) make certain Mail is in the /Applications folder
2) There is no other copy anywhere else.
3) Once steps 1 and 2 have been done, Manually download and re-apply the Security Update (2012-004) by hand.

If the Mail.app has been LOST, it can be re-installed by applying the 10.6.8 version 1.1 combo update. But this update is quite large and it is usually not necessary:
