Try opening the device manager and remove your sound hardware and then rediscover. This works often. Let me know how it goes.

Its very strange, I created this file outside FCP, using video gallery software.
I placed in FCP and looking at the Wave Audio its a straight line. Means the audio is there with -1000db

You definitely need to resurrect the old password associated with the Apple ID you used to purchase the music.

An email will be sent to the email address associated with that account with instructions regarding resetting that Apple ID's password.
If you no longer have access to that email, the resolution to this problem becomes considerably more difficult. In that event you would need to contact iTunes Support and explain your dilemma.

is your ipod set to auto sync? if it is, you cant listen to those songs on your computer. if you want to listen to songs that are on your ipod on your computer, set it to manually sync or whatever. that should work.

I've imported from a video camera and the files on the laptop are not playing the sound, is there any way to retrieve it?

I have just uploaded a large number of files from a panasonic video camera on to imovie. I have never had this problem in the past, but when I try to play back the files on my laptop there is no sound. I have tried increasing the sound and normalising via the audio settings, and the sound is playing fine on the video camera. Is there anything I can do?

Hi, I bought CS6 some months ago, tried it briefly and it worked. Now, half a year later, I really want to work it, but it does not play, neither mp3 nor wav-files. Invariably, when Audition's transport doesn't start it's because you've lost the connection to your sound device. So go to the Preferences menu and Hardware setup, and re-establish it - you should be good to go then.
