I can not sign in to FaceTime using my apple id

I can not sign in to FaceTime using my @mac.com apple id, each time i try encounter the following message:
The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try later. This has been an ongoing issue for several days.
I am also unable to access Facetime preferences
any suggestions for a fix please?

I was having this problem and was able to fix it by going to system preferences and adding my @me email address as an additional apple id - then I signed on to facetime using that sign on info and it worked.  Good luck.as

    Hi there
    I had the same problem and I found this answer to a similar question to ours, so I copied and pasted it for you
    Reset the device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds.  After it resets the message will be gone and you can go to settings > icloud and put in your password.
    That seems to be a bug with the password alert where it won't respond correctly sometimes.

    When i try to sign in to iMessage or Facetime using my apple ID it won't work. It tells my that my username or password are incorrect but i can use the same username and password to download from Appstore and to sign in on iTunes.
    I have the same problem on my ipod touch (4g).
    What do you think is the problem?

  • Can Not Sign In to FaceTime - states check network connection and try again - but network is fine.

    I repeatedly keep getting notified: Could Not Sign In. Please check network connection and try again. When trying to log into FaceTime. Also note that click FaceTime on bar that Preferences is not highlighted by light gray. I can log into my apple ID okay and log in to write this comment without any problem. I am trying to talk with my Grandkids in England from Arizona on the iPads that I sent to each of them from my iMac. What am I doing wrong - have been repeatedly trying for past three hours.

    Sometimes firewalls cause trouble with Facetime, iMessage and other Apple apps - please try to open these ports from your router firewall (or ask somebody to do it if you don't know how).
    Enable port forwarding on the following ports to use FaceTime and iMessage on a restricted network.

    I have a problem with my iphone4.  I was trying to activate my iMessage by using the apple ID but it was impossible.
    It says that the username or password is incorrectly, but when i use the same username and password for login in iTune (lets say) eveything is ok.
    This is very strange.

    I have the facetime in my ipad and click on it, it comes on and camera shows my face in the side it says to sign in with my apple id, I try to do it a message comes after a while saying couldn't connecte check your internet conection and the conection is fine?

    For some reason I can not sign into FaceTime or iMessage using my Apple ID anymore. They both used to work, but they just stopped..     If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
    It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.
    Plants vs. Zombies, and that is all for additional software on here
    FYI:  Some third party software can cause issues with the App Store >   Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text
    Apple is not responsible for incompatibility isssues with third party software.

    You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID.  You can only sign into an existing account on a PC.  You first have to create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.
