    Starting this morning, I am unable to sign into my Account on the iTunes Store. When I try to sign in, I get an error message:

    This is NOT a problem with the password on my iTunes Store account. I'm using my Apple ID which I've had for many many years and I've had the same password for many many years.
    And, right now, I am able to SUCCESSFULLY sign into my Apple ID on the on-line Apple Store on the web. So, I know that my Apple ID and password are correct and my account is working fine.

    Is Apple having problems with the iTunes Store and account sign-in authorizations?
    Specifically, I am clicking on the "Account" button in the iTunes Store. I am then presented with a dialogue box: "Sign in to view account information". My Apple ID is pre-populated, and I enter my password. Then, I click the "Account Info" button to sign in. Then, I get the following error message: FieldName null. Unknown error.
    The error message is infuriating! FieldName null ??? -- What does that mean? -- And, unknown error ???
    Please help!

    For all Users...I just fixed mine and am now able to log on.
    Yesterday there was a Quick Time update to 7.3.1 that fixed a security issue that was allowing access to your computers. I thought that my auto update would install this and it didn't. I had to manually download from apple and install the update.

    I used the "with iTunes" version and now I can log into my account with out the "null" error appearing.
    This was pointed out to my by QuickDraw so he gets all of the credit.

  • I can not sign in to Youtube account using Appletv. It just stopped accepting my password.

    My appletv worked great....now it won't let me sign in to my Youtube account. It keeps saying that "The account name or password was incorrect,please try again".  But I know for certain that it is correct!     To get the e-mail mentionned by carbon_dragon in the post, go to your YouTube account page. From there click on YouTube settings by clicking on the drop down box with the gear icon on the box to the left of your YouTube account name along the top of the screen. This should bring you to the Overview screen of your account settings in YouTube. Once there, click on "Advanced" under your YouTube name. This will take you to a page that has a section entitled "Account information." There you will see an e-mail address. A long e-mail address. This is the address you will use. What worked for me was to remove the YouTube account that was on my Apple TV. Then I entered the e-mail address--the long e-mail address -- into the log-in on the Apple TV. After that, I entered the YouTube password I've been using for the account that had stopped working in my Apple TV. And voila! it worked.
    Hope this helps you and anyone else that has this issue.

  • TS1368 itunes on my new alienware laptop acts as if the computer is not connected. (which it is) can not sign in with my itunes username and password. itunes help even pops up with "your computer is not connected to the internet"....

    so in other words, I can NOT sign in on my account, much less authorize this laptop. can't even access help.  have downloaded the latest itunes software, checked my firewall settings etc.... (the itunes help window even opens up with "itunes help is unavailable because your computer is not connected to the internet".  granted I am basically computer illiterate, in other words if something isnt working my knowledge is pretty limited with tweaking things. I need some help!

    On an Alenware laptop, this issue is often older drivers on the Bigfoot networking card.
    Head to the drivers and downloads page for your model of Alienware at Dell. Check for newer versions of the drivers for your Bigfoot card. If you're behind and you update, can you get through to the Store (or Help) now?

    I encountered the same problem when I purchased a used iPad for my elderly father and couldn't set it up for him. I called Apple Support...
    Apple support could NOT help me. I was told there is no way to circumvent the 3 icloud setup limit on iOS devices at their end. I was told to use a different mac or iOS device that hadn't met the 3 x limit.
    So, using MY iPad I tried to do that. At first I went to Settings/iCloud. But that is your PRIMARY iCloud account    (and this was MY iPad and I didn't want to screw up my own settings!) which you don't want to trash.
    After some online research (iMore to be exact) I discovered you can setup a secondary iCloud account using:
    Settings/Mail,Contact,Calendars --> Add Acount... -->iCloud --> Get A Free AppleID --> Birthday Q then Security Question - then Name - then Get a free iCloud email address....
    After you get to the new iCloud settings page at the end of the signup process - I deselected all the tabs which made the new account "inactive" on my iPad.
    Next I went to the used iPad that had the initial problems, and tapped on Settings/iCloud. I signed in with the iCloud account that was newly created and was able to then get an iCloud account to work!
    I left the new iCloud account showing on my own iPad (under Mail,Contacts,Calendars) as it is inactive. I am not sure what would happen if I deleted it - it may stop working on my father's iPad then.

    I had the same problem and I found this answer to a similar question to ours, so I copied and pasted it for you
    Reset the device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds.  After it resets the message will be gone and you can go to settings > icloud and put in your password.
    That seems to be a bug with the password alert where it won't respond correctly sometimes.

    You can not create an iCloud account using a PC, set the account up on a Mac or an iPhone/iPad, then you will be able to sign into it on your PC.

    Actually, that means you've reached the limit of three new iCloud accounts on this device. The only way to fix is to create the new account on a computer or another iOS device, then setup the account on your existing device.

  • Problem with Maverics: Can not sign in to App Store, Mac slow, Aperture not working

    I was using a Mac Book Pro 15" supplied with Snow Leopard. I have created an ID and used it to purchase apps such as Aperture. After buying an iPhone 5S, I wanted to share the contacts and was suggested by the seller to upgarde the Snow Leoprad to Maverics and use the iCloud. After installing the Maverics following happened:
    - I can use iCloud and share the contacts, mission completed
    - the Mac is running slow, really slow (as an old pc)
    - Aperture can not be used, a major problem since all of my photos are stroed on an external disk via Apeture
    - I can not sign in to App Sore to refresh my purchases and see if there is an update for Aperture
    - I tried to sign in by clicking the forgot password and entering my ID (e-mail address) but have received no mail - total mistery
    - I also see that the HP 7610 printer icon is not active and assume that will also be a problem
    What should I do? I need a fast running computer. I need Aperture, all of my private and business photos are accessible only via Aperture. I can sign in with the same ID/password on an iPad. The problem is obviously due to installing the Maverics. I do not have a time machine/capsule.
    Urgently need support, please help.

    Correction: I did correctly enter my Apple ID and its password. And there are no parental controls.
    But I found a fix: I went to the Featured page and it showed me as logged in. I clicked the Account link and in the pop-up for that entered my Apple ID and Password. Now I can once again see my Purchases.
    It would seem to have been some undue delay or glitch at the Apple server end.

    What you need is a file named Domain.sites (iWeb 2) or Domain.sites2 (iWeb 3).  Copy it from your laptop to your other computer at home.
    It's located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder.  Place it in the same folder on the other computer. 
    All the files for the site are contained in that file/package.  After editing you will have to publish the changes to your hosting server.
    NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible in Lion or Mt. Lion enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

    Actually my problem is a little different but it may have the same root. I can sign in, make purchases and update on my iPad using my correct ID and password. Obviously, I can do the same from the iMac to get to this community or I wouldn't be allowed to ask a question. But, when I try to download an upgrade to Mountain Lion from my iMac, the APP store doesn't recognize my Apple ID and I get and unknown error message. I know it doesn't involve the password because I got a different message when I mistyped it. I think the APP store is ill but when I emailed support the person answering totally misunderstood my problem. I thought better of Apple.
    An addendum: I signed into the APP store on my iPad and downloaded a free game. It worked fine. I went to the APP Store on the iMac and tried to download the free game and go the same message as when I tried to get the OS 10.8 upgrade. Something is wrong with the APP Store.
