I can not STOP THE MUSIC that is currently playing Looking for a music app or a way to let me stop the music that is playing. I have asked this over and over all over the internet and no one has an answer. I enjoy my music for a while but when it is time to STOP THE MUSIC I have found but one way - Turn off or power down the device. This is so annoying I have stopped playing and stopped purchasing any and all music of any type. If I can not find a way to do so I will remove all music from my devices until I may hear of how to STOP THE MUSIC. I have seen it is done on Android devices but no Apple devices. If there proves to never be a way to STOP THE MUSIC I will surely sell all 5 of my iPhones, iPads and iPad Minis and finally give up on Apple ever truly caring about their users.

Perhaps Apple has found the STOP unnecessary but I thoro enjoyed knowing whatever I was playing had STOPped and could not continue unless I chose to go back to the program or equipment and chose any of the 5 choices except STOP again since I could not STOP a STOP. As I said perhaps I need to reconsider my choices and obvious ignorance. Thanks for all the help.

I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup. How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation back onto the new hard drive on my pc.

No backup is a huge mistake.

What happens if you reset the Nano? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume down buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Start playing another track, and then pull the headphones out? Any change?
I am going to try this out with my 6G Nano later on to see if this functionality does indeed exist on this model. Or perhaps somebody who comes along to this thread can offer an answer.

My iPod classic has failed with an HDD error. I've tried recover mode and everything, it's goosed. Half my music was only on the iPod, a collection over the years from my various computers, it was backed up using itunes however. How can i restore the music that was on my iPod to my computer or another iPod? (dont have another classic, only shuffle and iphone) I'm guessing itunes holds some kind of virtual image of the ipod classic somewhere. There is no BIOS in OS X. There is only the EFI stored in ROM that is not user modifiable. OS X is probably checking Bay 0 for the boot drive since that is where it should be. It won't check the Tempo drive since it is treated like an external drive. I suggest you open Startup Disk preferences to see if the Tempo device is selected as the boot device. If it isn't, then select it. That will probably shave off a few seconds in the startup time.

Hi Diavonex. Yes I was aware of this option.
Subsequently I have done a litle research and downloaded a music app called "Track 8" which has a much clearer interface (larger type) and the abillity to change the background colour to dark or light.
This is much more readable in the car in bright light, and much better at night too.
You can also turn off auto-lock within the application, which is great, as it doesn't affect other apps.
Although this app is really only an interface sitting on top of the music app, it offers a much better experience
in my opinion that the stock player which seems to have devolved rather than evolved.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. I upgraded my computer, so I had to reinstall iTunes... I don't understand why I cannot just simply sync the music off of my iPod Touch that I didn't buy with iTunes to my library... The only music that is syncing is the music that I bought through iTunes... WHY CAN"T IT JUST BE SIMPLE?! (I don't have a backup of it..)

Can't stop the music from lockscreen

Hi everybody,
I updated my iPhone to iOS 7 last night. Now I got the problem that I can't skip or stop the music neither from lockscreen or the control center. I always have to unlock the phone an switch to the music app.
Does anybody else have that problem? Does anybody know how to solve it?
Would be great getting an answer here.

I had the same problem but after a reset (hold down lock and home buttons until the screen fades off and the apple logo appears) everything is ok.
