I use win7 with Avira Anti-virus.

    Yes there is a setting for that. Open system preferences go to the security & privacy sections, click the lock icon and type in your password. Then in the "Allow applications downloaded from: area tick Anywhere.

    I have had many issues with Adobe Reader not working. When I go to open it it does not work. I have uninstalled it and now it will not load. When I go to open the file all I get is a small blank box and it will not go any further. I do not know what else to do. Help!

    Also, are you trying to open a local or online PDF?  If online, in what browser?
    Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?

    and also unable to load a GUI
    it also wont let me delete the program or update or install a new one.
    Can anyone help me out????  I really need this program for school in a few weeks so if any one can help me out id really appricate it.

    Open Windows Explorer and type %appdata% into the address bar; where does it take you?
    Anyway, try to uninstall it using the Windows Installer Clearup Utility, then reinstall it again.

    Ever since the last Adobe Reader update I have been unable to open pdf files in Safari. So I attempted to delete all Adobe applications in hopes of reinstalling the software. Now I can not even save the Adobe Reader install File to download.

    HI Ric ...
    Quit Safari.
    Go to   /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
    Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari.
    See if that worked for you...

    that I can not remove the program. My computer got stuck on it and I had to do the end program option because it would not close out. I know that Adobe has been on my computer ever since I can remember.     My adobe reader suddenly stopped working yesterday.
    I was running version 8 or 9 under windos 7 and it suddenly gave me a strange error message that the Core DLL failed to load.  I have never seen this happen before.  It's also asking me if I want to run protected mode off and I keep saying yes  please help!!

    I used version 9.  Basically what happened was it decided to stop working.  I uninstalled version 9 and installed 11 and it gives the same error message "Core DLL failed to load".  Also tried running it in Non protected mode.  also tried repairing both versions in the control panel.  nothing's working!   very strange considering up to a few days ago version 9 was wortking fine and has been for years

    My Adobe reader is the most current one that's out there per Adobe.
    Something like XII  or higher.
    As for my Outlook, it's MS Outlook 2003, and I believe it's Express Outlook.
    If I disable the Protected Mode, per your suggestion, maybe that will work.

  • Can not install Adobe Reader in Windows 8.

    Setup was interrupted before adobe Reader XI could be completely installed.
    Error Code: 150210
    Worked fine on Windows 7. Even tried downloading the entire installer still didnt work. I got desperate and tried to install Foxit reader, it wouldn't install either, wouldnt even launch everything else has installed just fine.
    I tried compatibilitymode etc etc, I really need to print these shipping labels!!

    You may want to try using this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:

    Then, you may download the offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.
