I can not use my serial numer to install Lightroom on my new computer?

I bought Lightroom 5 not even a year ago, and I have an official serial number, that is also confirmed with my profile. Still, when I got my new computer today and try to install Lightroom, it won't let me use the serial number. Why???? I don't even have the old computer anymore, and my Lightroom backup is on my ext hard drive.

If the serial number is valid but the installer is seeing it as invalid then it is likely the licensing file is damaged or is not able to be updated properly. To help ensure other Adobe Creative applications are not affected it is best to remove all installed Adobe Creative applications. If you have not been able to install iTunes because the Windows Installer service is not available, I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following troubleshooting to help.
Issues installing iTunes for Windows
These in particular:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes, you'll need to log in to your computer with an administrator password. If you're not sure if you have an administrator account, read Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You could also refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Install the latest Microsoft Windows updates.
To download the latest updates, visit the Microsoft Windows Update website. iTunes for Windows requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 with the latest Service Pack installed. If you can’t install the updates, refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Download the latest version of iTunes.

Disable conflicting software.

A flash drive, or your external drive that you use to backup all your data would work better. With a CD you have to be careful of what utilities that you use to do the copying with or you end up with read-only (write protected) files.
Also I think you would much prefer to copy your entire profile over than just your bookmarks.
On your old and your new computers you can find your profile through about:support typed into the location bar (or Help > Troubleshooting information...) and then click on the "Open Containing folder". With Firefox down, you would simply copy your profile to external device, then on new system remove the content in your (Firefox) profile and replace it with the contend from the old computer -- also with Firefox down.
You might consider copying a lot of your ''' c:\users\ ''' folders over selectively then your email and other applications user data on your machine, would be copied. Having two working machines is a lot easier to work with than an old backup or no backup. You can
even connect the two machines through wi-fi and copy data.

I can not find my serial number to upload my illustrator since my computer has been wiped clean

I am a new office worker and the person before me had Adobe Illustrator and had saved some documents using that. They wiped my computer clean and I when I tried to load the program I realized I do not or can't find the serial numbers. I still have the sleeve the disc was in but there is nothing on that. The box has a series of letters and numbers but the letters won't enter into the screen asking for the serial number.

if the program was registered with adobe and you know the account used, you can check on adobe.com, https://www.adobe.com/account.html
otherwise, you will need to contact someone that knows where to retrieve that serial number.

You can transfer "simple" apps one-by-one, but not "complex" ones. See Transferring Applications for an explanation.
Your best bet may be to use Migration Assistant to transfer all the apps, then delete the ones you no longer want.

Not usually (and you don't actually clone it).
Your best bet may be to use Setup Assistant when your new Mac first starts up to transfer everything (except OSX) from the old one, then delete what you don't want. See How do I set up a new Mac from an old one, its backups, or a PC?
Yes, that will transfer apps you don't use, and data you don't use, but (unlike Windoze), apps that aren't used don't cause a performance problem, just take up some space on the HD. So you can delete them when convenient.
Note that if you have any PPC applications, they'll be transferred, but won't run on Lion.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Is Lightroom 4 still installed on the old computer? If it is then you can get the serial number from there. If it isn't, and you registered your copies of Lightroom with Adobe then you can log into your account and get the serial number from there.

May I suggest that you develop a method of storing your ALL of your serial numbers (and other important data) so that you can find them when you need them? After all, you paid money for this.
By the way, if you downloaded the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom, that's the wrong version and could cause this problem. You want the standalone version of Lightroom: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html

If you install on a third computer, it will request you to de-activate on the other two computers. You can then reactivate one of the previous two computers, and use Creative Cloud apps on it.

A single user license allows for having activated installations on two machines. An Elements license allows for either platform in many cases (recently not the case from what I've seen). If you have the disc, see if it contains the Mac installation files... if it does then you should be able to install them via a download as well. I cannot answer with certainty for the last question since it relies on the previous question. Personally, I would not let an inexpensive piece of software dictate an expensive hardware purchase decision.
