Hi, I have uploaded Pic to my WD EX4 using desktop app. I can see all my pics but when I try to access them from desktop app I have to click every pic individually. I can not access them like picture as I can using WD photos on my mobile Please let me know how can I access my pics through desktop app like pictures. Thank you

Hello and welcome to the WD community.
When you access the files, you mean to see the thumbnails for the pictures? If i recall correctly the desktop app does not show thumbnails for pictures.

2 - go to your Pictures folder and open the iPhoto Library package as shown below:
3 - locate a file named AlbumData.xml and move it to the Desktop.
4 - launch iPhoto.
5 - relaunch the other programs and try the media browser again.

You might need to sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf" using your Adobe ID credentials to convert your PDF file to Word.
Do you get the 'download' prompt?
Also, you can find the converted files by clicking at the 'Files' tab.
Please try the same using a different browser and check.

How can i access my icloud files from the finder?

I have tried dragging the icloud icon from the toolbar of safari to the toolbar of a finder window without success. There are files from apps I would like to save on my cloud that do not natively support iCloud.

The Safari iCloud icon is for iCloud tabs which syncs all of your tabs in Safari between all of your iOS devices and Macs. So basically while you were dragging the iCloud icon into Finder, you were doing nothing. Also iCloud only saves information and files from certain applications such as Reminders, Notes, Messages, Safari, TextEdit, etc. If there are apps that do not natively support iCloud you cannot save their files to iCloud because Apple does not have a feature that can save any file from any app on your Mac. Sorry to tell you this.

Can't access photos and videos from Library for uploading to net or iMovie

I've been downloading my pics from my Nikon L18 for the last 6 months but cannot access them from the library itself; for instance if I'm trying to upload a pic onto Facebook or trying to import my videos into iMovie. When I'm in iPhoto I can see the pics through my albums, but they won't show up under Events or Library. Am I importing something incorrectly?

If you can see photos in an Album then they are in the Library. Events and Photos are just different ways of viewing the Library. It’s simply not possible to see pics in an Album that are not in a Library.
Or are you trying to access files in the Finder?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Can I access a generic file from my phone application?

actually I am writing a small app for my motorola V3i using Netbeans 4.1.
I need to upload generic data files for my app. Is there any possibility to use non-packaged files in a j2me app? I need them readonly on my phone app, if write access would be possible its even better.
I have a memory extension card for that phone, so I hoped to create my datafile on the computer in xml or similar format and copy it to the memcard in order to read it from my app.
Is this possible?

It sounds like you would like to print from your phone directly to a printer. This feature is called Airprint and your printer would need to support that function. Here is some more information on Airprint along with a list of compatible printers:

Accessing Excel 2007-file from BO Explorer App

Hello all,
I have a problem when trying to access excel 2007-files in an InfoSpace ( XI 3.1 SP2) from the iPad with the BO Explorer App.
Accessing this file from the Browser is no problem and accessing the same file saved as excel 2003 is also no problem from the IPad.
Anybody an idea what could be the problem? I have to save some files with excel 2007 because number of rows.

Additional hint: Always the following error message appears:
It is not possible to retrieve the facets within the Explore tab.
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException:Character reference "&#26" is an invalid XML character.

I do now see that you are correct: there is a difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010. Your particular usage is somewhat unusual and there probably isn't anything you can do, except to recognise that you are a beneficiary
of it (although others may be less fortunate).
The type of protection that you are applying protects the workbook against certain types of change; it does not prevent people opening it, and they do not need a password to open it, so, in a sense, it does not need to be
encrypted. In Excel 2007 (and Excel 2003 before it), the workbook was, nonetheless, encrypted, and in Excel 2010 it isn't.
This change means that someone can remove the protection outside Excel (just by deleting that single line of XML), something that couldn't be done before so it is a loss of security.
I'm a Word person, rather than Excel, and I don't know all the details of the different types of 'protection' that can be applied to Workbooks and Sheets.
I have, however, not seen anything about this before and will ask some Excel friends if they know anything. Beyond that I don't think I can help any more.

How can I remove a downloaded file from the desktop?

I downloaded an install Internet Call Director exe file from my internet privider then was told that their system couldn't run on Mac OS 10. There are two files on my desktop that I can't remove. When I drag either one to the trash i get this message. "the item installICD.EXE is being used by another task right now.(Other tasks include moving, copying, or emptying the trash.)" There is nothing else running. I have tried renaming the file,Clearing the download manager, and anything else I could think of. The files will not open and will not delete even using CMD delete. I am not a computer person! How can I get rid of the files??

If you haven't already done so, change the filenames so that they have an extension of .rtf, and then open TextEdit. Overwrite both files with blank TextEdit documents and then throw away the TextEdit documents.
If the TextEdit method doesn't work, open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and enter the following:
tell application "Finder"
set file type of (selection as alias) to "1234"
end tell
Select the file in the Finder and run the script. Repeat this for the second file; when done, try throwing them away again.

How can I access my stored files from a previous backup?

I recently had to restore my Macbook and I backed up my files on a Lacie hard drive. However, now when I try to access those files It says that I do not have permission. Is there any way to access important files without having to do a full restore of my computer because that is not an option. I am a student and one of those files was a very important document that I need. I am willing to download any software that may be necessary to recover these files.

How can I access my cloud files from Adobe Bridge or Lightroom?

Since we still do not have the ability to share folders or perform a sync with ACC I'm betting this question is not answerable, but I'm hopeful. It would be really great if Bridge, and I'll use Lightroom if I must, could access the files within the Adobe Creative Cloud. OK, I understand that sync isn't going to happen, that the cloud is not meant to be sharing or collaborative in nature but rather a tool allow you to send a single file to another Cloud user to get their comments or have them download a JPG. OK, that's fine, a VW is never going to be a Cadillac, but is it possible to modify Adobe Bridge or even Lightroom to look in the users Creative Cloud folders and display thumbnails of the images? This way the user can see a file he wants to work on, allow Bridge or Lightroom to export the file to his PC, open it, work on it and save it. Is any of this even possible today?

Which OS do you have? In case of using Mac OS X 10.7 and later or using Windows 7 (maybe working on Vista too, but tested on Win7), Adobe CloudConnection is out now. If you use Snow Leopard 10.6.8, like I do, you have a problem xDD
