I can only choose a photo from "recently added" to use for wallpaper not "all my photos"
I can't choose a photo from "all my photos" to use for wallpaper on my iphone , my only option is from "recently added"photos. ?
Wrong, am able to use old pictures as wall paper. Open your camera roll - photos - select the pic - hit the up arrow and then use as wall paper
I just test this from a picture I took in 2005.

Why can't I purchase movies from my Apple TV? When searching not all available movies even show up!
I've had my apple tv for a while now, but have never actually purchased anything from the itunes store directly from the device. A friend recommended "Sleepless in Seattle" to me, and since it's not in Netflix or On Demand, I decided to buy it from itunes.
In doing a search in the Movies section of my Apple TV and typing in "Sleepl", I got no results. Bummed, I went onto Amazon to see how much the DVD would cost. On a whim, I opened itunes on my computer and did a search for the movie. To my shock, it is available for purchase on itunes for $9.99!
Once I found this out, I went back to my Apple TV and searched again. The movie still didn't appear to exist. I noticed then that every movie on the apple tv only gave me the option of renting, not buying. I was going to purchase from my computer, but then thought better of it because I wasn't sure it would be made available for me to watch on the apple tv.
Is there something wrong with my system? Why can't I buy movies from the device? I can buy tv shows, so it just seems weird to me that this is limited to the movies!Ha, ha, you are such a tool!
That profile was written in 2007 and never updated. Unlike you, I don't live on this forum. I have one 5 year old Dell gathering dust, waiting for the trash that has some kids software on it my kids never use.
Currently I own a 27 inch iMac, and a 21 inch iMac used by my wife. I just sold my MacBook Air, which replaced my MacBook Pro of two years ago. I have an AppleTV v2, and unfortunately gave my AppleTV v1 to a friend before I realized they stripped out the movie purchase feature. We also own an iPad, two iPhones, and 4 iPods, two of which are used as digital music storage for our cars.
So yes, all of my factual posts concerning Apple's shocking decision to try to hide the fact they removed significant functionality from AppleTV when they revved it, are just driven by the fact that 4 years ago I used almost no apple products. Apparently I harbor a twisted desire to hurt the company that provides me almost all of my technology of choice today, despite being an early software developer for the Mac, helping start two Macinotosh software companies in the 1980s and 1990s, and working at Apple for 2 years in the early 90s.
The truth is, Apple's products weren't so good 15 years ago so I gradually switched to Windows for professional reasons. About 4 years go I bought an iPhone, and started to wake up to the fact that Apple had done a tremendous job moving the Mac platform to the intel architecture, and was very happy to replace my crappy dells with Apple products.
But that doesn't mean I wear blinders when their product teams and marketing department makes mistakes, or does something deceptive. -
why does iphoto not import my pictures? is it because i used to have a pc and the camera is set up for that? i photo can view the pictures but will not save them.

I want to play music from my playlist when I am using slideshow of my pictures in Ipad, but I can only choose ONE SINGLE song, and it continuously repeates itself. Is there a way to play the complete playlist while showing my pictures?
You can start the playlist playing in the iPod app and then switch into the Photos app and start your (non-music) slideshow - as you've found out you can currently only select a single track in the Photos app. Whether that will change in iOS 5 I don't know, but you could try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

i would like to email pictures from my photo album in ipad but the logo of email is not there to send. I can only choose FB, copy and print. what happen to my email logo?
I wouldn't want to say exactly, however I would imagine that it has to do with the fact you use the same Apple ID on both devices. Since Facetime was activated on the phone, with the number, and then activated on the iPad with the email and same Apple ID, they are somehow linked. I'm not sure that you can separate it without having a different Apple ID on the two devices. Otherwise you can look at this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3367 and see if that helps you any.

I have iphoto 08 version 7.1.5. I copied photos from recent - last import into albums. I then deleted the photos and emptied the trash. Today all the albums are empty and the photos are nowhere in the library. Have I lost them all?

hey guys ! I use logic pro ... not logic proX ... and i want to record my drums with 4 mics. I got a mixer with also 4 inputs ( Behringer Xenyx QX 1202USB ) But in my Logic i can't take the third input !?!? i can only choose 1 and 2 .... Please Help

What you need is not a mixer, but an audio interface with at least 4 mic inputs. There is a lot of choice there, but you should indicate a budget. You can go from, say, € 300 to € thousands, if you want.

However, there are other options (like multi-out mixer plus multi in interface, or standalone mic preamps plus interface with 4 inputs, etc). I have little experience using these however so I really cannot say much about which one(s) to get. The two mentioned above both have four mic preamps, but they are by no means the only way to do it.
The cheapest solution I can think of is to get a second 1204USB, plug it in, and in OS X create an Aggregate device (=the two are being merged into 'one virtual' interface with two discrete stereo (= four discrete mono) inputs. Disadvantage: you keep the same (limited) soundquality of the 16 bits convertors. Getting any of the interfaces mentioned earlier will also mean you'll make the significant step up from 16 to 24 bits sound. -

Yes, that's the way it works with pictures synced from a comptuer to an iOS device.
If you want to remove specific picstures/albums, do so via iTunes on the computer. -
Photos missing from Recently Added, Collections after IOS8 update
After I uptaded my IPad Air to IOS 8, photos were missing from Recently Added and Collections. (I understand Camera Roll and Photo Stream are gone.) My Recently Added photos dated to June (it's September) and my shared IPhone photos were missing from both the Collections/Moments where everything is supposed to be now. Photos In Last Import are also from June. I was fumbling through the Comminties threads and found a partial solution on a related IPhone thread. I can't figure out how to link to it, but someone called Apple tech and they suggested going to Settings/Photos & Camera and toggling My Photo Stream off and then on again. I was reluctant to do this since a pop-up warns that all photos in your stream will be deleted. But as soon as I did it, aphotos started downloading to the Recently Added. They're out of chronological order, and there are duplicates, but at least they haven't all disappeared. (Also, not w complaint, but my Recently Added goes back to 2011, not 30 days.) Photos are still missing from Last Import and Collections. Any other ideas? At least now this feels recoverable, I'll put everything in Albums quick.

I want to update the OS of the Macbook Pro I bought today to Lion, but at "purchase date" I can only choose 2011. Now what?
Sorry but I don't completely understand your question or what you are trying to do.
If you purchase a new MBP Today, Jan 3 2012, it should already have OS X Lion 10.7.x installed on it.
Only some left over early 2011 model that stores may have had sitting around would of come with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Or even if you bought a Reburbished model from Apple it would of still came from them with Lion.
So my questions are.
1) Did you buy this new from a authorized Apple store or reseller?
2) If not new was it purchased from an authorized Apple store or reseller?
3) To my knowledge when trying to do updates to the OS there is no check of purchase date. So what exactly are you doing that asks for a purchase date?
If new then just use the Software Updates in the Apple Logo menu item.
If not new and it originally came with Snow Leopard or Leopard you will have to buy OS X Lion at the Online Apple Store. If that is the case then nyou need to put in the original date the unit was purchased NEW and or manufactured. That way the Online Apple Store can tell if Lion will function on that model properly. -
why I can't make a purchase on other itunes store I always get a message that "this account name can only make a purchase from the Qatari store" when I tried to change the store since the product is not available or only available in USA or Philippines
just call them...i bought my PB when it came out...but I had an issue recently and called them up and they helped me out....

How to I get music I purchased before the iCloud was created to show up on my new authorized iPhone? Right now I can only see the Apps I recently purchased on the actual phone but older music I purchased on my CPU using the same Apple ID doesn't appear.
Does any music show in the Purchased tab on the iTunes store app on your phone ? Music can't be re-downloaded in all countries, and even where it can be it will only appear whilst it remains in the store. Do you have your purchases on your computer and/or on a backup of your puchases so that you can sync them to your phone ?

DavidI've just found out the reason for this behaviour. I am syncing from a computer which is different to the one I first synced with. iTunes can't cope with this situation so deletes anything synced from another source.
