I can pair but not connect my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 5cs

I have a mid-2005 MacBook Pro running Yosemite OS. I can pair my iPhone but cannot sustain a connection with it for more than a second or two.

How are you trying to connect?
Does the Headset appear as an audio output source? (hold option and click volume in menu bar for fast access)
I have the same headset and works perfectly fine in both 10.6.8 and 10.7 for me.

To gain Internet access for the MacBook Pro, you will either need your own Internet service provided by an ISP or access to another Wi-Fi network that has Internet service.
Your MBP has a built-in wireless adapter, called an AirPort Extreme Card. This adapter is able to connect to just about any Wi-Fi network available today.
If you opt to get your own Internet service, most ISPs will provide you as a minimum an Internet modem. Some also offer a wireless version of this device. For those that do not, you will also need an Internet router (wired or combination wired/wireless) in order for your MBP's wireless to connect.

  • IPhone 4s bluetooth not connecting to macbook pro

My iPhone 4s bluetooth is not connecting to macbook pro.  My 3Gs has always worked perfectly fine.  Is there a problem with the 4s hardware or iOS 5?  Anyone have any ideas?

I'm trying to connect using Bluetooth to use my iPhone as a remote for keynote while on the go (no network to connect to.) maybe it can't be done with the new iPhones but it seems like we should be able to. Thanks for the snarky and super helpful answer though.

  • My calendar appears on my iPhone and my iPad, but not on my Macbook Pro.

My calendar synchs with my iPhone and iPad, but not with my Macbood Pro. Any suggestions?
    John Willetts

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • My headset is paired ,but not connected

My headset is paired but it is not connected, can anybody help please

After attempting to connect via a bluetooth dongle (USB external bluetooth send/receive device), I am fairly certain that the bluetooth-Mac problem is software based. The same headset worked wonderfully under previous OS-X versions. I really do not appreciate having to reconnect every few minutes and to continually reinstall my bluethooth headset. Obviously, Apple does NOT want to fix the problem.

  • HT204368 Android smartphone will pair but not connect to iPad 4

Android Motorola bionic smartphone will pair w/ iPad 4 but says its not connected. Help

You can't via Bluetooth - it would take forever even if you could.
Transfer the music and pictures from your smartphone to your computer, import the music into iTunes, then sync it and the pictures to the iPad via iTunes. Using iTunes with your iPad is covered in the iPad user guide:

  • Android phone could pair but not connect to Ipad 2. any reason?

I'm trying to connect my Android phone 2.3.5 to new Ipad 2 with IOS 4.3.5 via Bluetooth. It does pair but does not connect.
    Anybody knows why?
    thanks

The iPad doesn't support file transfer over bluetooth. Are you able to copy the info over to your computer from the phone and then sync them to the iPad - the iPad supports contact syncing from (from the iPad manual):
You can sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo! Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book (Microsoft Outlook Express), Windows Vista Contacts, or Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with only one application at a time.)
    or :
MobileMe or Microsoft Exchange account on iPad with Contacts enabled
So I think that you will need to get the contacts into one of those before you can sync them to the iPad (it's not something that I've done).

  • Old  Macbook connects to corporate ethernet --- but not my new Macbook Pro

I've now tried nearly everything to solve this problem: My old white plastic Macbook connects to the corporate LAN --- but not my new mid-2009 Macbook Pro.
All the settings are the same. I have on occasion managed to connect the new Macbook Pro to the network but only for a short time.
Our IT folks have checked the cable, the ports, routers etc and everything is just fine.
I am able to connect to the network from other ports in the office --- but not from my office (except with the old white plastic Macbook).
    Please, can someone help?

If you can connect when using other ports in your office the problem is almost a certainty that the issue is with the port you can't connect with. Did your IT guy switch ports at the switch side to one that is known to work? We can't troubleshoot your LAN and it sounds like your computer is set up correctly if it connects using other ports.

  • Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter not connecting on MacBook Pro Retina

I recently purchased the Thunderbolt to Ethernet Adapter to connect to my 13in MacBook Pro Retina Late 2012 (Mountain Lion 10.8.2) to a hardwired internet connection for faster downloads. However, when I connect the ethernet cord to the adapter nothing happens and only the wifi connection is identified.
Ethernet or Thunderbolt Ethernet are not an option in the System Preference > Network. Also, either connection are options when trying to add a network interface ( System Preferences > Network > + > Interface).
I have tried several fixes like Resetting PRAM or Removing Network Preferences File. The NetworkInferences.plist and Preferences.plist files did get recreated after reboot, but only the WIFI interface shows up.

I am sure the Thunderbolt ports are functional since I am able to connect my display using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter
Could I have corrupted the Network Preference File or is could the Thunderbolt to Ethernet Adapter damaged?
    Please help.

I had this problem, too, and an Apple Support call and Genius Bar visit later, I had the answer: if you're using Network Locations that preexist your Thunderbolt display, it doesn't seem to auto-add the possibility of "Display Ethernet" to your available network ports. To solve this, either:
Create a new Location in your Network system preferences. It will finally detect the "Display Ethernet" and use it. It'll slowly change from disconnected to No IP to green-is-for-go.
    or
Fix an existing Location by clicking the + to add a port and choosing Display Ethernet. It'll slowly change from disconnected to No IP to green-is-for-go.
