Do you have your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) set correctly?

OOPs.. I can receive messages, but I can't send them!!

Then that means that the user that you are trying to reach has not setup and registered Messages on their iDevice. They have to set it up first before you can reach them. And you can only message with other iOS users, not with Android devices or other cell phones.

    Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

You could try asking MobileMe Support (I know you're on iCloud but there's no free support for that unless you have AppleCare: some people have haad success with MobileMe Support). Go to http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/ww/ and select your country. In the next window click on a category to expand it, then on a subject to get a link to 'live chat'.

  • I can receive SMS but I can't send SMS

    I have BB 8530 curve.
I can receive SMS message. But I can't send SMS I have wap data plane only the BIS plane not available in yemen and BB enterprise
And I wanna know is the mms available. In wap plan wap push and the bbm is it available. In wap plane please help me

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From what I understand, some level of BB-proprietary plan is required in order for MMS to work, since MMS is actually enabled on the BB via Service Books, and those only arrive from actual BB data plans. But, you need to talk to the mobile service providers for specifics...but I would not, given your information, be hopeful of being able to have MMS.
    Good luck!

You need to contact Bell South to make sure that you can send emails through your email account while on a different network. I hace Charter for my isp at home, and they do NOT allow emails to be sent through their email servers if your not on the Charter network using Outlook or simular email client. The only way I can send emails if I am out of town, is to use their web interface. This is incorrect. They have instructions on their website to set up an iPhone, BB, or Droid to send and receive email. . I have been receiving and sending mail on my Droid since I picked it up in April. In fact if you look around the Incredible board, I have detailed instructions on how to set up your phone for Charter. I am sure BellSouth has settings also. They do this to cut down on spam being sent through their systems (thus reducing the load on their servers)

I've fixed yahoo accounts before where the device had to be registered with the company, is your account @yahoo.com or something else? Do you login through yahoo.com for your mail on you computer or is it another domain? you may also want to check you settings for sync. Get there by going to the home screen and pressing menu and selecting settings. select accounts and sync, verify that both auto-sync and background data are checked. then click on your account and check to make sure all the necessary boxes you need are checked as well.
The phrase "Powered by Yahoo" is just a customization of the IE brower. It is a registry setting that can be changed to say anything you want, or remove it all together. It does not have anything to do with Yahoo for access or emails of any sort.

  • I can receive calls but I can't hear anything at all when I answer it.

My phone rings but I cannot hear anything when I answer it.  I can also make a call but don't hear it ringing, or anything when it is answered.  Can anyone help please?

Contact Apple or AT&T. You probably have an issue with the "cell radio" in the device. They most likely will replace it, so back it up before you take it in.

  • I can receive texts but i can't reply to non iphone users

I have been reply to a friend all week until today. I got a text but couldn't text her back. I am able to text my husband who also has an iphone but can't text anyone else.

Check Settings > Messages and make sure Send as SMS is "On".

  • I can receive iMessage but cannot send

I can receive iMessages, but am unable to send.... Help!

    Back again.
Apologies for the delay – it's taken this much time to get a new micro-sim! You were correct that a new sim solved the texting problem - I can now send texts. BUT, the original problem still stands: I go to Settings / FaceTime / Use Apple ID for FaceTime / Enter Apple ID...  I enter my correct password and get:  "FaceTime Activation. The user name or password for (...my email) was incorrect. Try again".
The user name, by default, is my email and my password is the same one used to access this forum, iStore etc. so I know both are correct.
I live in the UAE where FaceTime is banned, but my iPhone 4s is UK specs and has the FaceTime app. I use the same app on my MacBook Pro over broadband and iPad over wifi with no problems. Advice appreciated.

  • Receive Gmail but it won't send

I have a new macbook air. I set up the mail to work with my gmail account. I can receive mail but it will not send. The outgoing stmp server is listed as Gmail (offline) and the Connection Dr. can not connect.

It is possible that you are in a transition period of time when Apple is shutting down the mobileME website.  In fact, Mobileme.com is closed at this moment.  I can see where you might be receiving email traffic and yet being unable to send email out using the mobileme/ mac dot com emaill address.  Check this article out from Gigaom.

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad.  Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port.  You may need to change in on the pad.

    Hi,
It may pay to send a Screen Shot of the Connection Doctor info.  (see the Window Menu)
It would seem the IMAP or POP side is logged in bit the out going STMP server is not.

  • Moved to a new house and now i can't send emails but i can receive them

I just moved to a new house and now i can not send emails but i can receive them...

    New houses can do that.
We need more info - what email service is this issue about.  Do you use several (gmail, yahoo, icloud,...) and is this issue the same for all?  If you also use a computer or other device, is this issue common to them all?
