I can receive sms messages but I cannot initiate them

If I receive a text messages, I can respond to them. But, if I initiate them. This makes no sense...at all.
Help!

HT4623 I have an IPhone 5, I can receive instant messages but when I reply to the messages specifically to my friends samsung galaxy running droid he will not receive my message. Why not?

I can send text messages but I cannot receive them! Can anyone help?

On my iPhone, I can send text messages, and other people receive them, no problem.
But when people send me texts, I never get them. What is going on, and what should I do?

I'm having the same problem. I came from Verizon, and activated about an hour ago. I got the 2 free text messages from AT&T and can send, but not receive. My friend who transferred from TMobile on Friday night had the same exact problem. He had to call a number, and have them fix some thing in his billing that was not correct. I am trying to get the number from him. It is an AT&T thing.

Can receive sms texts but not read them

my blackberry curve is currently receiving sms text messages, but they only show up as an icon at the top of the main menu, i can't actually see them or even open them. i do not have this problem with mms or email. i also can't see texts when i go to the specific 'sms' inbox. i know i'm receiving them because friends have asked why i haven't responded. but it's like they're lost to some black hole in my phone.
things i've tried:
i've tried rebooting the phone, at which point i've gotten the "uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastException" error.
also, my phone is saying "attempting to open a secure server connection but the server's certificate is not trusted." sometimes i can just click close connection and get through to the phone but other times i can't.
i've tried rebooting the phone (taking the battery out), changing my themes settings to default (and using a default blackberry theme) and deleting all messages from my phone.
nothing seems to be working -- what can I do to read text messages again??

This may be an issue with your SMS database. Try clearing your SMS database then test with new messages:

I can receive I message but can't send I message

Help....I can receive an I message....but can't send one, or reply to one!

My best guess is that you are accidentally typing in the subject field without realizing it and when you try to send the message, it will not go through. Unless there is text in the text area - and not just in the subject field, the message will not send.
Like I said, that's only a guess. Try using the subject field again, but make sure that you are also typing the message in the text field and see if the message will send. You can always turn the subject field off again if it will not work. If I leave the subject field turned on, I can still text, as long as I type the message in the line below the subject field.

Can receive Viber messages, but not send?

Hi all,
Last week my friend in the UK lost her phone, got a new one and re-installed Viber.
Since then I can receive her Viber texts, but when I try to reply I get a pop-up saying that 'this contact no longer has Viber installed...'! This obviously seems nonsensical.
She can also call me on Viber, and appears in my Viber contact list. However if I attempt to send her a Viber message and get the pop-up above, her name suddenly disappears from the contact list!
I have today updated my Viber to the latest version, in case my Viber was somehow out-of-date with hers, but the problem persists.
Any thoughts?

I started having the same problem today. I have been using Viber for some time now without any problmem both on wifi and 3G and starting today I'm not able to use it. I have an iPhone 4s and have the latest version of Viber installed on it.
The messages get stuck at "Sending" and after a while turns put to red color with an error "Not sent".
I tried uninstalling and re-installing viber but of no use. After the re-install it is not syncing my contact list nor working. Could some one help?

I'm in a group message with 12 people. All are iPhone users, except for the token Galaxy user. I can receive messages, but I cannot send them. How can I fix this?

The Group Messaging setting applies only to MMS messages.
Your wireless carrier may restrict the maximum number of recipients allowed in a group message with MMS.
Disabling Group Messaging has no effect on iMessage behavior. Responses to group iMessages are always sent to all recipients.
Group messaging with MMS requires an appropriate plan from your carrier for use on iPhone.
Carrier messaging rates may apply when using group messaging with MMS.
Additional Information
It is not possible to remove yourself from a group message.
To add or remove recipients, you must create a new group message conversation.
If you experience an issue with iMessage, SMS, or MMS messaging, try the steps outlined in this article.

My husband I both have iPhone 5. He can speak his messages but I cannot. Why not?

We both have iphone 5 using 7.1OS When he wants to send a message he has an option to use a mic. My identical phone does not have this feature. How can I get it or why don't I have it.

I would turn Siri off and then Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the Apple logo comes on your screen. Then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart. Once it comes back on turn siri back on and recheck your messages for the option.

Can receive FT calls but when I initiate, it says person is "unavailable"..

Here's the mystery...I bought an Ipod Touch 4 and my husband an iPhone/AT&T a few months ago. When he's traveling or sitting right next to me, he can ring me up on my Ipod with FT...however if I try to initiate a FT with him while I'm at home with my Ipod, it ALWAYS says he's "unavailable"...even if he's sitting right next to me. BUT, if I scroll to recent calls on my Ipod and ring him back from my Ipod - it works! So this is how I've lived to learn with the Ipod - knowing I was holding out of the Verizon Iphone. BUT - the EXACT same story as above is happening with my new Iphone. Grrr. Only this time I tried FT with a friend out of state that just bought a new Iphone - same thing. He could receive a FT call from my husbands Iphone - and NOT from mine! Frustrating. Please-please help.
Why can I receive and initiate Facetime calls by tapping Apple's provided # (the one used for Facetime calls) in my 'Recent Calls' log, but there's no way of initiating one through regular channels on my Iphone 4 and Ipod Touch 4?

I spoke with someone at Apple and it turns out that my husbands phone's Facetime was still using his temporary cell number that was issued to him for 30 days prior to receiving his permanent - even though the rest of his phone switched to the new number. It was a very simple fix...Settings...Phone...Facetime...and then turn it off & on so it can re-activate. I'd done all of this on MY phone and Ipod. Thanks Apple.
P.S. LOVE the Verizon iPhone! I get better reception than my old Verizon at home - AND better reception than my husbands AT&T iPhone.;)

I am receiving emails perfectly but I cannot send them. I have checked my account preferences and it says that my outgoing mail server is offline?

It is a gmail account through the University of Notre Dame if this has anything to do with the problem!

Go to mail preferences.
Select the mail account that doesn't work...
Now check with comcast for the correct setting of incoming and outgoing mail server for comcast.net quick internet search will let you what they are
now port problem can also be found doing a quick search, depends if comcast requires SSL encyription yes or no and which port to use. when you change the settings to the right once your mail will work again.

I have an iphone 5 which has recently been updated with IOS 107. Voicemails come in but I cannot access them. Has anybody any answers to this one. I have also had to stop iMessages as they don't get sent out, I can only text in the normal way. Help.

Help please. Following the most recent update my voicemail receives incoming messages but I cannot play them. I cannot access visual voicemail either. Also imessaging no longer sends messages. So I have had to resort to text with my work colleagues.

From what I understand, some level of BB-proprietary plan is required in order for MMS to work, since MMS is actually enabled on the BB via Service Books, and those only arrive from actual BB data plans. But, you need to talk to the mobile service providers for specifics...but I would not, given your information, be hopeful of being able to have MMS.
