I can see,but I can't hear..Help..

I can see, but I can't hear anything. For example, I can
watch all the video in Youtube, but there's no sound. My speaker
are working perfectly, I can listen to music from my folder. I had
also downloaded the newest version of Adobe Flash Player after
uninstalling the older version. I do not have this problem last
time, but now there is. Thanks for any help.

i have tried the following suggestion and fixed my problem..

I've picked certificates from my cert card which Thunderbird can see but it can't actually decrypt or sign with them. (Encrypt works)

I just got a new machine from corporate. The old one had ActivClient 6.2.0.133 and I had it working there. With my cert card inserted, TB can see the certs on the card. It lists them in the "Your Certificates" tab in the cert manager. And in the account settings, security section it lets me pick certs for digital signing and encryption. But when I try to use them to sign or decrypt an email it doesn't work. It does let me encrypt an email which others can read. I've checked about:config and it matches what I picked in account settings.
When I try to decrypt it gives me the boilerplate:
" Thunderbird cannot decrypt this message
The sender encrypted this message to you using one of your digital certificates, however Thunderbird was not able to find this certificate and corresponding private key.
Possible solutions:
If you have a smartcard, please insert it now.
If you are using a new machine, or if you are using a new Thunderbird profile, you will need to restore your certificate and private key from a backup. Certificate backups usually end in ".p12"."
If I try to sign it says "Sending of message failed. Unable to sign message. Please check that the certificates specified in Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings for this mail account are valid and trusted for mail." TB only lets me pick the cert named "Digital Signature" for use in the first place! And the cert's properties according to TB are "This certificate has been verified for the following uses: SSL Client Certificate, Email Signer Certificate". So TB knows it is good for signing. I'm out of things to try at this point.

I've found a bit more information. When I'm trying to sign an email and check the cert info from the compose message window->security->view the cert that TB is trying to use, it is using the wrong cert and not the one I selected! No wonder it doesn't work! It is using a cert only specified for "Email Recipient Certificate" instead of the one I selected in account settings that is for "Signing, Non-repudiation" according to account settings and "SSL Client Certificate" + "Email Signer Certificate" according to the certificate manager.
This pretty clearly seems like a bug. I've never submitted a bug to TB before. Can I get some help doing that? I'm not a SW developer of any kind. This is completely breaking my ability to use TB. Half of my email traffic is encrypted.

I have 2 external drives connected to my new iMac. I can see but no one else can, the other can be seen but not written to.

I have 2 problems, i have 2 external drives connected to my new iMac.
Both are formatted to FAT 32, one I can see but no one else can and I can write to that drive,. The other can be seen by all but not written to by me or anyone else (This drive was used on PC but is FAT32 (have been back to the PC & told it to read write).
Permissions are correct on both that I can see. Thats the extent of my knowlege.Please help

reset the ipad by holding the home button and sleep/wake button together until the ipad turns off. Ignore the slide to power off message if it comes up. Then hold the sleep/wake button for a few seconds to turn it back on. You should get the apple logo then.

There's a slight chance this might help:

If it's formatted as NTFS, reformat it as MS-DOS, exFAT, or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as desired.
If it's formatted as FAT32 or exFAT, use the Disk Utility's Repair Disk command on it.
If it's formatted as Mac OS Extended, click Authenticate and provide your administrator password, or change the permissions on that specific folder in its Get Info window.

Hello railenemarie16, let's solve this mystery together! Have you tried deleting your contact from her device and then re-adding? Also, have her send you a message manually instead of from the saved contact. Did you have an iPhone previously before the Note 3 and used iMessage? Keep us posted!

i'm having a problem with the sound when i try to use ichat. i have successfully talked with people over ichat but i usually can't hear and see them at the same time. i can connect with them and hear them over the audio successfully. i also can't connect with people, they have to invite me to chat. it's frustrating because i have successfully communicated over ichat, but i can't initiate it or get it to work on my own.

Umm Comcast.
They claim that they offer a VoIP telephone service that DOES NOT use SIP and therefore should not interfere with iChat.
The Netgear may need some tweakes.
Here is a page that allows you to find out the default Access info (As well as Port Forwarding Instructions).
Check the UPnP menu item to see that it is active (it should be by default)
In the WAN page check the item that Disables DOS or SPI (you will have one or the other). They block what they think are attacks based on how much data is coming to you.
IF the modem is in Bridge Mode and passing the public IP to the Linksys then you may also have to disable WAN/Anonymous Ping Blocking.

IChat Can be heard and watched, I can Watch but I can not Hear

Hi iChat Forum,
I'm new into the Mac world environment with a recent out of the box MacBook Pro that I just recently received three weeks ago. One of the main concerns that I would like to share with you is Video Conferencing with a PC AIM user, which I think this deserve some sort of investigation or if you have any suggestion that I could do to solve the problem I really, really would appreciate it.
Let me tell you my story:
On me side, I'm in UK based with:
- A New MacBook Pro, No modification to any settings.
- Firewall, I checked settings and it is off.
- BT Voyayer2091-B7 Wireless ADSL Router (Works Great), high speed.
- Setup Account for iChat on AIM network
Other End, My Wife based in Mexico with:
- Dell Latitud D810 Intel Prowireless, Windows XP SP2 (1.8GHZ, 2MB Memory), No internal microphone integrated.
- Ethernet Broadband connection, high speed.
- Webcam PCL-300K connected trough a USB port with Microphone.
- Setup account for iChat on AIM network
We followed the recomended setting described by this two sources:

Without too much hassle we were able to communicate each other, wow! this is great it works!! we though, with a little bit of delay in the frame display but voice very clear this was enough to keep in touch each other.
After three weeks of succesfull communication on both ends for long periods (1.5hrs) without any interruptions we were able to communicate, and it was four days ago that all of the sudden we starting having problems with our communication, starting primarly with receiving this message errors of not responding for an invitation from her after I accepted her request, the same situation in the otherway around. However after disconnecting and trying again it was only when she invited and I responded (Accepting) which finally we stablish communication again.
The Problem:
Now, even that we are able to stablish communication with Video in both ends, she CAN perfectly hear me and watch me, on the other hand I CAN see her but CAN NOT hear!!. At first we though it was a problem on the microphone, not switched on or some kind of sound setting that she might turned off, but NOT, everything was right.
Well, I refer back to the documentation described in the links above thinking that this may be an issue with the router on her END not Mine or firewall setting. She reinstalled everything and follow all the required steps to setup the setting of the firewall according to documentation and we tried again with the same results.
On my end as I mentioned previously I do not have any firewall set on in my Mac, the only bit that I have not check yet is the router configuration, and the reason is because I'm in a renting property that provide us with Broadband connection to internet that individual or different computers/pcs have access to. And because everything worked fine at first, I don't think there are setting there that are needed to be changed, no one has make anychanges to the router and everything works fine.
Our last resource for us was, thinking that it might be a problem with her microphone in her web cam, so we decided to use SKIPE instead, and surprise!, we could stablished only voice communication in both ends, so this proved that her Microphone setting are OK!, so our work around to our communication and Video problem is to open an iChat convertation for the VIDEO part, On my END and set the MUTE and Open, at the same time a SKIPE session for Audio only. This works pretty good and actually the frame rate of the display on boths ends accelarate a lot.
If I check connection Doctor on the iChat session I received 100% coomunication with video and 0% Voice, still I don't received Voice from her.
I know this is not the good solution and I'm still concern of what wen't wrong on that time that interrupted our communication without doing anything in the settings in both machines.
We decided not to spend more time anymore on this matter due to I'm very tire investigating what migh have been wrong, but as I said this is not the right solution something is wrong in my settings which does not allow me to pass through voice signals from her. I reached to the point to reinstall ichat but because this is NEW machine and don't want to incurr in the same sort of situation I had with Windows, that is why I personally switched to Mac.
Well have a happy reading and if you come up with some solution or you have come across with something similar and managed to soleved it I really would appreciate it you help or advice.

Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
If your wife has unplugged her Mic at any time she will need to redo the tuning.
It is also possible that her video quality need to be reduced to allow the audio to come through.
You should start a chat.
At her end she should see your incoming video is in one of two tabs.
She should click on the rear tab which will come to the front and show her preview.
A small icon should appear to the right of the tab.
She should click on this to bring up a slider.
Sliding this to the left will reduce her video quality.
At this point this will allow the processor at her end to produce new frames faster which means her pic to you will smooth out a bit.
If you open the Connection Doctor from the Video menu you will see the frame rate and Bitrate go up.
As the slider gets moved further to the left you should get Audio.

Sharing iTunes Library - Can see but cannot play movies

I have a Mac with iTunes and a connected external hard drive. In my Movies library, I point to movie files on my external hard drive. I have shared my entire iTunes library including my music and movie selections under iTunes Sharing settings.
From iTunes on my windows computer, I can see my shared library and even the list of music and movie files. I can then play the music files from my iTunes shared library, but it won't play any of the movie files. When I double click on a movie nothing happens. When I highlight a movie file in iTunes and click the play button at the top, it seems to freeze for a couple seconds, then returns to normal, not playing the movie file.
Am I missing a file sharing setting on the Windows computer or Mac laptop?

Just another datapoint to add...I tried a few different things yesterday and I can get the following files to play:
1. Free Downloaded video from iTunes (Horton hears a Who - Anatomy of a Scene)
2. Digital Movie (Bolt) that requires some authorization from the iTunes store.
The movies that won't stream from one XP box to the other XP box are all encoded using Handbrake (they work fine going to the AppleTV though.) I'm wondering if it has something to do with DRM or specific tags/metadata that needs to be included in the encode.
Also, this is something new for me (i.e. I haven't tried sharing libraries or streaming from one iTunes instance to another prior to upgrading iTunes to 8.1) My daughter got a laptop and we wanted to keep all of our media in one shared location in the house. Hopefully this will work at some point.
