I Can See My HD, I Can See My Volume, But I Can't Boot Up!

Check this out and tell me what I should do.
So I was burning a cd in iTunes when I got the wheel of death. I waited for about 10 minutes before I decided that I was going nowhere fast. I Couldn't force quit so I held the power button for 10 seconds and the computer shut off. I restart my computer and BLAM!!! Gray screen. No broken icon, no sad computer screen icon, just a gray screen with nothing on it. Not even the cursor.
So I get out the restore cd and reboot from the cd drive. I run disk utility and see that both my hard drive and my volume are there but the volume is not accessible. I can click on both the hard drive and the volume but when I click on the volume, it doesn't give me any info. The volume is also at about 20% opacity, meaning it's not accessible. So I select the volume and click on REPAIR DISK.
As REPAIR DISK runs, I get an error message saying "Invalid Node Structure." Then, it says "Rebuilding Catalog B-Tree," and after about 30 minutes of running Disk Utility, if finally stops and say "The Volume Macintosh HD could not be repaired." Then, underneath it it says "ERROR: The underlying task reported failure on exit."
I reset the PRAM or whatever it's called as suggested on many of the similar threads here. I also reset the Power thing and no go. I tried to see if I could do a reinstall but the HD doesn't show up in that screen which is weird because the HD and the boot volume show in Disk Utility. The MOUNT POINT field in DISK UTILITY is blank for my boot volume. How can I make the volume mount? It's there. I see it.
I am runnin a PowerBook G4 1.67 on 10.4.6. I have an external drive and again, all I want to do is backup everything once and if need be, reinstall. But I can't reinstall unless I erase the HD from within Disk Utility.
What happpened? Is my hard drive shot? Can I save any of the data on my volume? Is there a way to copy the OS back onto my hard drive without erasing my data? Are there written commands I can run to force a mount and at least retrieve my information? I could careless if I have to reinstall everything as long as I can save all my work before I have to take that step. I backed up 2 weeks ago but I have done A LOT of work in those two weeks. Can anyone point me in the direction of the information I seek?

Sounds like you are in a catch-22 situation here. You can try one of three approaches.
One has more risk, but the greatest chance of getting recoverable data if the hard drive is not what is shot and just the directory. That's Alsoft Disk Warrior.
One assumes the hard drive is shot, and it is just the files that are inaccessible, and no directory damage. That's using Prosoft Data Rescue and an external hard drive.
A third is a data recovery firm.
Depending on how much you value your data, and how much you can afford, and which you think is most likely the problem, pick the one you think is best going to work.
It sounds to me you needed to do more frequent a backup than you had done in the past. Good luck!

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

It appears what happened is the installer though it was looking at a empty drive and just went ahead and installed.
I of course am assuming here you didn't use Disk Utility to format the drive first before installing, that would wipe out your files and programs for sure.
So what to do, what to do.
Well there is hope for you as long as the drive wasn't Filevaulted.
I'll explain. When a hard drive writes data for the first time to a drive, it starts at the very top and works it's way down.
When OS X was installed the first time, it was at the top of the drive, unless you upgraded then the upgraded OS X could have been written elsewhere.
Now when you just reinstalled OS X, the new OS went on the top of the drive, overwriting any data that was there previously, so what was there you have lost forever which is about 8GB or so. If it was the previous OS there, then your more in luck because only the old OS X was overwritten.
The remaining space on the drive still can have a copy of your files, provided it's not overwritten yet.
It's because when a hard drive deletes data or reformats, it doesn't remove the data off the drive or overwrites it immediately, it's just made so it's SPACE is available for new files to be written there.
So technically one can recover the deleted data off a non-encrypted/scrubbed hard drive with special software.
The way it does this is it reads the 1's and 0's of the files themselves, and through a lot of figuring out, can tell what that file is and what it belongs too.
So what you will have to do is this:
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
or if you don't have the skills, then take it to a local PC/Mac tech and they can do a direct image of the drive and then you can run Data Rescue on it to rebuild your files.

The two problems are related.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
And that's why you can't export as well.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Apple TV 2 Can See My Library, But Can't Connect for Home Sharing

I'm really at my last rope, so hoping someone will have mercy and be able to help here.
Symptoms:
- Go to my Apple TV 2
- Under the Home Sharing menu, select "Adam Nash's Library"
Result:
- Spinning cursor
- Cannot connect to "Adam Nash's Library". Please check that your computer is on and on the same network.
Internet access works for all devices, they all can do Netflix and Apple Store. Only one network in the house. No firewall activated on the mac.
I have multiple AppleTV units, and this has intermittently affected all of them. Periodically, I have solved the problem by taking them on / off ethernet.
Things I have tried:
- Restarting iTunes on the computer
- Turning Home Sharing on and off on AppleTV
- Turning Home Sharing on and off on iTunes
- Rebooting the computer
- Resetting the AppleTV units
- Restoring the AppleTV units
- Forcing the AppleTV units to different IP
- Forcing the AppleTV units to Ethernet instead of Airport (by plugging into Airport base stations directly)
- Swapping AppleTV units to different rooms
Nothing works.
One clue. I have three Airport Extreme base stations in the house, and this problem begain when one of them started misbehaving (would connect, but wouldn't pass through packets.) It's an Airport Extreme Base Station (Series 1). The other two are Series 4 & Series 5. I reset the misbehaving box and reconfigured it, and seems to be working fine from a networking standpoint. But once that happened, one of the AppleTVs started showing this problem.
Is there some reason that Home Sharing is hyper sensitive to the network in some way? It *seems* like what's happening is that it's seeing the iTunes Library (which is why it show's the Library name), but when it tries to connect, something is either encrypted differently or permissioned wrong.
Hoping someone can help me. Frustration is at 11.

One clue: I have found a reliable way to solve the problem when it happens.
In my network, I have the main Airport Extreme (Gen 1) which is connected to my router, which distributes IP addresses to my internal subnet. The other two AEs (one Gen 4, one Gen 5) are set to extend the network.
When I get this problem with an AppleTV 2 that can "see" my library, but when I try to open it, it says it couldn't find the library, it seems to have to do with a change in which Airport Extreme it's talking to.
If I restart the main Airport Extreme from the Airport Utility, effectively restarting the entire wireless network, then when the network resumes, every AppleTV 2 is happy again.
Unfortuntely, the problem does seem to recur - but I'm wondering if it's because temporary interference leads an AppleTV 2 to try to connect to a different AE, and somehow that's mucking with the Home Sharing. Remember, internet access (Trailers, Store, Netflix) have no issues. Purely Home Sharing.

Accidental damage is not covered under Apple warranty. And it seems there is much accidental damage. Only a Genius Bar tech looking at it can tell how much it will cost to repair.
Cost to repair will be high, I suspect (though Genius Bar will confirm/deny.
There is no gentle way to say this sir/ma'am ... someone will need to pay for your friend's MBA repairs.

I've two iPod Nanos (4th gen - 8GB). I'm facing a severe problem with both of them. For both iPods, I tried to do this method Simultaneously press the top button + home (central) button. But of no use.
1. My first iPod is showing a white screen. I could not see anything. But I can listen to songs by blindly pressing the play button twice. The battery comes only for an hour.? How do I get the display and longer battery?
2. My second iPod is facing more severe problem. None of the buttons are working. When I connect it my PC it showing "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting". But it is not ejecting with all the usual methods. When I manually and physically disconnect it from the PC the same "CONNECTED- eject before disconnecting" is still showing till the battery goes off. After that if i press any button it is showing low battery signal. And when i re-connect it to the PC the same process is repeating. When I tied to restore it to the factory settings I'm getting "Error" report.
(I'm using windows 7)

Sounds like some hardware issues, meaning you'll want to take or send the iPods in for service or repairs. You can choose to have Apple do an out of warranty exchange for the prices indicated in the link below or find another third party service perhaps even local to your area.

Assuming this is an iCloud mail account, sign out of iCloud in its preference pane, then sign back in with the new password.

Yes, to restore the iPod and reload the songs with whatever program you use to put songs on the iPod.
How do you manage to use iPod Agent to transfer songs to the iPod since this is what it says in the iPod Agent FAQ?
"iPod Agent is not a music manager. It does not provide the ability to organize your music and transfer it to your iPod. Apple's own iTunes does a great job of this and thus we don't see a reason to try to duplicate it's functionality. iPod Agent is meant to work hand-in-hand with iTunes."
