I can see songs on my iphone but can not see them in itunes

I have the IOS 7 and iphone is a 4.  I can see songs on my iphone but cannot see them on itunes.  I want to be able to see them so that I can move them to a playlist.
thanks for any help.

If i have to restore my phone, I would loose data. At the momen, that's a last resort to me as everything works fine apart from this music problem.
Is there a way to fix the database? I can see the music is on my phone with iTunes so it is there in one form or another ...but I can't play it
Has anyone had the same issue?
Are there any suggestions?
If i call Apple support would they be able to help?

If it is not turned on and connected to the Internet it will not show up.  If has been restored to factory condition it will not show up.

  • ITunes recognizes my iPhone, but will not connect to the iTunes Store

After having to re-install all the software on my computer, iTunes will recognize my iPhone 4 okay, but will not log into the iTunes Store using a valid user name and password.  I can still log in to the iTunes store on my iPhone, but just not on my computer. I get an error message that says, "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."  I also conducted the "Run Diagnostics" test for network connectivity tests, device connectivity tests, and device sync tests.  All three tests passed with green lights.  However, I still get the following error message "One moment please, Connecting to the iTunes Store, Loading..." when I highlight the iTunes Store and attempt to log in with no success.  I also disabled the Windows 7 firewall as I did get a previous error message that said iTunes was not enabled in the Windows firewall.  I have my computer configured the same exact way I did before having to reinstall all my programs, and iTunes worked fine.  I've included some of the comments from the diagnostics below...

  • Why can i only purchase 'E' rated songs on my iPhone but can purchase all songs on my iPad?

I have been trying to purchase a song from the iTunes store on my iPhone but it will not highlight the price so i can select it. If i go to an 'E' rated song there is no problem. Although i have not completed a purchase, i can go through the whole process on my iPad with no apparent problem. Is this a setting on my iPhone?

Connect the phone to your Mac and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your Mac's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac) and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select which of your music that you want in your phone's Music app

  • I purchased songs via my iPhone but lost it when syncing with itunes. How do I get them back?

    Hi everyone,
I'm sure this happened to some of you before but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I purchased music direct via my iPhone but when I synced with iTunes some of my albums were missing. What is also weird is that the digital booklets have synced but I can't find the songs. How do I get them back?
I know that Apple has a policy to not downloading twice but I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not all that confident either so would really appreciate the help.
    Cheers.

  • Just bought a brand-new I pod touch 5 and I can delete songs off my ipod but don't sync with my iTunes

Tying to get what I delete off my I pod touch 5 to my iTunes...

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?

  • I purchased a song on my iPhone but can't find it now

I purchased a song through iTunes on my iPhone 4s. I showed up in my purchased folder and I was able to play it like always. Before I updated to iOS7, I syced my phone. After the update, I tried to play the song and it's not on my phone or in iTunes on my computer. I also updated to the new iTunes as well.
When I went back into iTunes on my phone it shows song name, the length of the song, and then the word "purchased" to the far right. There is no option like the little cloud icon to click on either there or in my music folder. When I look at my music folder it doesn't show up at all whereas all of the other purchases I've made recently did show up and had little cloud icons next to them to re-download them. The missing song was my most recent purchase right before the update. I can re-purchase it from iTunes on my computer but I hate to pay for a song twice. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sync it

  • I purchased a song with my iPhone, but when I sync'd with iTunes the next time, the song was removed and cannot be accessed in iTunes.

The song is found when I "search" for it or for the artist, but it cannot be selected or played.
When I go to the artist, only the other song from another album is shown.
I tried redownloading from the iTunes store, but there is no change.
This is very frustrating, since I now cannot put it back on my phone or listen to it at all.

  • I'm missing a few songs on my iphone that are not missing in my itunes. I clicked "sync all music" already.

There isn't the exclamation point next to the songs in itunes. There are only about seven songs missing on my Iphone. A long with a few album artwork issues. It wouldn't be such a problem if it weren't my favorite band's stuff missing.

I ran into this problem as well, random songs missing from one album of a particular band.  First I compared the info of each the missing tracks (command-i while in itunes) to the rest of the songs on the album to see if there were any discrepancies, as this could potentially confuse the iphone.
It turned out that wasn't the case; the only information that was different for each song was the name of the song and the track number, which is as it should be.  But I did notice that in the 'Track Number' section of the Info tab for each track, the total number of tracks for the album wasn't listed.
In other words, the track number for each song was listed as 'Track Number x of __'.  When I entered the correct value for the blank box (i.e. the total number of songs for the album (16 in this case)) for each of the tracks, this fixed the problem on my iphone.  So, for example, for track #3, instead of having 'Track Number 3 of __' it now says 'Track Number 3 of 16', and the same goes for all the other tracks.  All I had to do was re-sync my iphone, and voila, problem solved!
To save time, you can enter this info for all the tracks on the album simultaneously by shift-clicking or control-clicking to select them all at once, and then pressing command-i.  The number you put in the dialog box that comes up (which should have the album name but none of the song names) will be applied to each of the tracks all at once.

  • HT204406 how come i have songs that are EXPLICIT but when i upload them to itunes match, they are CLEAN??

anyone know how to fix this?

iTunes Match has been making a bunch of mistakes in the matching, like substituting clean for explicit, Spanish versions for English, etc.  Unfortunately, it cannot be trusted.  Make sure that you have your own backup of all your music.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you made a Time Machine backup before deleting the applications, you can recover them from your backup. Just go to the Applications folder, and open the Time Machine app, so you will be able to recover the applications just navigating through your backups.
However, there are some applications that won't work after doing this, because they require other system files. In this case, you will have to download the apps again from the Internet and install them using the installer

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Hello! I have configured my Wireless network to support bonjour protocol. When I support mDNS in the same Vlan I can see the Apple TV with my iPhone, but I cannot see it with my iPad.

Hello! I have configured my Wireless network to support bonjour protocol. When I support mDNS in the same Vlan I can see the Apple TV with my iPhone, but I cannot see it with my iPad. Someone know if there is any different in the Bonjour protocol between the iPhone and the iPad???
It is like if the iPad changes the process at some point...
    Thank you!

You don't need to configure anything specific for it to work unless you had some special filtering in place already.
What do you mean specificly by can not "see" it with your iPad?
