I can send email on my iMac but not on my Macbook Air or Macbook Pro.

All three are connfigured exactly the same way and I am using the Mail program that came on the system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am using embarq mail.

To gain Internet access for the MacBook Pro, you will either need your own Internet service provided by an ISP or access to another Wi-Fi network that has Internet service.
Your MBP has a built-in wireless adapter, called an AirPort Extreme Card. This adapter is able to connect to just about any Wi-Fi network available today.
If you opt to get your own Internet service, most ISPs will provide you as a minimum an Internet modem. Some also offer a wireless version of this device. For those that do not, you will also need an Internet router (wired or combination wired/wireless) in order for your MBP's wireless to connect.

How do I send email to a group but not have their address show?

Entourage has a function where you can create a group but check a box that says "do not show addresses when sending to group". I want to be able to send email to my HOA, but not have everyone show up and not use bcc if possible. Is there a way to do this?

Check your Outgooing Mail Server SMTP settings for your account. Make sure Primary Server is set to On, then check the Outgoing Mail Server settings to be sure they are correct.

I burned home movie in idvd on 2010 iMac and plays fine there but not on 2008 macbook pro. someone mentioned vlc and codex needs?

I created a movie in imovie and burned it to -R disk on my 2010 imac. It plays well there. But when I tried to play it in my 2008 macbook pro it would not play. what I got was two folder icons that said audio and visual and when i clicked on those it brought up several lines I couldn't understand. I did get the audio but not the video.
Apple said the Pro was beyond applecare which I knew but I thought it was iLife issue. They said it was not---that it was a Pro issue. I heard something about needing download of VLC and something about a codex. Not having much of an idea of what I was doing I downloaded a VLC thing and the disk played audio and video. Once. Today it will not play. So that is where I am stuck. Can anyone help please?

Does the DVD play on a standard DVD-player ?
If so - then the Pro doesn't need anything. Most probably the problem is due to
• Cheap brand of DVD used - Memorex and NoName known problem makers - I use Verbatim (only)
• Burn Speed not set down - I do to x2 - and to select BEST is not a good choice at all as this will be same as Highest = Lot's of burn errors
If DVD plays OK on the other Mac - make a Copy BY USING Disk Util tool and do not forget to set down the Burn Speed !

No more common than sending email problems with a laptop or other portable device if the email account does not have an authenticated server or the incorrect settings were used when creating the account.
Does this email account have an authenticated SMTP server?
Is an error message provided and if so, what?

I can pair but not connect my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 5cs

I have a mid-2005 MacBook Pro running Yosemite OS. I can pair my iPhone but cannot sustain a connection with it for more than a second or two.

How are you trying to connect?
Does the Headset appear as an audio output source? (hold option and click volume in menu bar for fast access)
I have the same headset and works perfectly fine in both 10.6.8 and 10.7 for me.

Iphoto not updating on OSX iMac but is on a Macbook Pro

My other half has a Macbook Pro, and his iPhoto is on version 9.4. He did not purchase this version. My iMac still says iphoto is 8.1.2. No upates are available, so does anyone know why a Macbook Pro has updated iPhoto, but iMac does not. Both were puchased in the same year! Updates are always downloaded. What is going on??

Netflix plays smoothly on my iPod but not on my MacBook Pro

I know it's not a internet connection problem because whenever I play netflix on my iPod it plays continuously and it never buffers but once I use my MacBook to watch something it takes forever to load!

Your signature says you have 10.6.8: this is not compatible with iCloud and the Preference Pane for iCloud does not appear. the minimum requirement is Lion 10.7.2.
You can access email on an existing iCloud account by setting Mail up manually:

You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, and there is a convoluted hack which has been reported as working for Address Book (and as not working by others - I've not tried it), but iCloud's other facilities will not work. Although it's not a cheap solution, Soho Organizer can sync Calendars and Contacts with iCloud on Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion. A single user licence (multiple machines allowed) is $99.99.(I have no connection with this firm.)
For full access to iCloud's facilities you will need (if possible) to upgrade your Mac.

Anyone know why the drive mentioned works fine but a little loud in my Macbook aluminum 13" but when I put in my Macbook Pro 15" I boot to the Apple logo and the spinning wheel spins for 10-15 minutes or more before I give up. I have re and re'd them twice with the same result. The 250 GB Hitachi drive that was in the MBP works in either one, it has snow leopard and the 750 has Lion on it, but I don't think that should matter?
I tried resseting the Pram and couldn't think of any thing else to do.

It depends on where the software came from.
If you had Snow Leopard installed and upgraded to Lion, the claim Apple makes is that you will then have a "Everybody" Lion, good for any Mac that can run Lion.
If you have a Mac that shipped with Lion, you have a "Custom" Lion, good only for that model of computers.
Does that help at all?

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
