I can't access google toolbar for firefox 9

i have downloaded firefox 9 but i can not access google toolbar

Hello,
It may be possible the toolbar has been installed but not showing. Sometimes toolbars are missing because they are hidden, you just need to bring them back up.

    Question
I want to install Google Toolbar for Firefox, but this is availaible only for Firefox 4. Can I replace My Firefox 6 with this older one Firefox 4, please?

Which Windows version are you running?
Try to run the Firefox installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator) and maybe the Firefox program also just one time.

  • I am looking for the google toolbar for Firefox 8.0 because the translation it had was the best. Nothing matches it. Can anyone help me find it?

    I'm using Firefox 8.0.1 with Windows 7
Ever since I updated Mozilla to this newer version, I have been having problems with translation options. I have tried many other translation plugins and they're just not as good (so please don't suggest them).
I use sites in various languages and write in different languages too. What's great about this translator was that you could hover over a word and in an instant it automatically detected the language and translated the word (or highlighted text). No clicks, no language selections, no shortkeys. I need something similar.

The Google Toolbar for Firefox was discontinued by Google last summer.

  • I seem to be stuck in a loop re-installing the google toolbar for firefox, since i endup at the "agree and install" page every time i reestart firefox

On my netbook, I have used the Google Toolbar for Firefox, with its handy Bookmarks access, for several years, but it appears to have become "invisible" when I open Firefox. I tried reinstalling it, and Firefox seems to perform the download, but when I restart Firefox to complete the download, itr opens on the "Start the Download" page, and the toolbar is still nowhere in sight. What am I doing wrong?

I agree with whereitis above, I hate it when options are removed (ex: the Bookmarks side panel (Ctrl-B) button missing) etc.. Firefox's major BOLD one-liner is: CUSTIMAZATION. Now to regain this CUSTIMAZATION freedom, Firefox suggest to solve this by installing the ADDON "Classic Theme Restorer". I don't want to install any ADDON to customize Firefox! I went with Firefox because it was CUSTOMIZABLE, and that is the only reason why I went with this web browser! Now, Firefox is asking me to add an ADDON to CUSTOMIZE it. What is this?!

  • Fix for google toolbar for firefox v7.0.1

Need a fix for google toolbar for firefox v7.0.1 it no longer works with updated Firefox Do not care to switch back to IE.

The Google Toolbar has nothing to do with Mozilla. Mozilla is not and never was responsible in any way for the Google Toolbar.
The Google Toolbar was created by Google for other browsers. It was never added to their own Google Chrome browser, and they have indicated that they have dropped support for it in Firefox. The only browser they were really concerned with keeping it in was IE. They did however assert that it was not needed in Firefox because there were already features in Firefox -- those "features" include other extensions which are not really Mozilla either. But the Google Toolbar is something you got from Google. I think it is doubtful that it would have ever passed Mozilla testing to be included at mozilla.addons (AMO) or that Google would have provided Mozilla with the source for verifications.
Take a look at what features you use in the Google Toolbar and check out your usage to what is available to you based on what Google has mentioned and based on what some Firefox users have noted in the following article:

For what it's worth Firefox 8.0 came out today (Tue Nov 8th, 2011), I updated from Help > About Firefox at what would be 11:55 AM Pacific time (7:55 PM London). It would be rolled out to different areas at different time. The release notes did not come up, which is probably good because they mess up so many users when they do come up.

  • Cant sign in to google toolbar for firefox!

    I run firefox 3.6.22
I Have the google toolbar installed
    igoogle is my homepage
igoogle is signed in and when I start up firefox it starts up as it should and and logs in. On my home page I can access my mail etc.
The problem is that the google toolbar is no longer automaticaly signed in. When I try to sign in it acts as though it is signing in but it dosent. It dosent say that the pasword or user name is rong it seems like it is loging in and dosent notefy me of any problems.
I cant seem to fix this

Google changed the login domain for their '''accounts''', which broke the Google Toolbar. They're gonna need to fix the Google Toolbar extension, which probably won't happen because in July they announced they aren't going to support Firefox 5.0 and newer versions. But you can fix it yourself if you're a little familiar with programming.
With Firefox closed, open up toolbar.js in the Google Toolbar extension with a decent text editor.
    Find:
    www.google.com/accounts
    and replace ALL with:
    accounts.google.com
    Start Firefox.
    Login through the toolbar. Enjoy.

How or when can I get Google task bar for Firefox 5?

Until Google updates their add-on, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Compatibility Reporter add-on] to enable the Google Toolbar add-on in Firefox 5 and test to see if it still works.

    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4.0, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

You can try this extension to override compatibility issues - once it's installed, you can just re-enable Google toolbar.

restarted firefox in normal mode twice to ensure normal mode is active… accessed Add-on Manager with no issues
enable add-ons one at a time and restarted twice for each add-on and accessed Add-on Manager with no issues

restarted Firefox in normal mode twice…accessed Add-on Manager with no issues
uninstalling/ reinstalling does not work…same issue
is any search engine toolbar?…I have read yahoo is crashing as well

Okay, this is a great way to do it. First start up Firefox in Safe Mode. On a windows, press alt when Firefox starts. On a Mac, press and hold alt and command while the Firefox icon bounces. Then, click on continue with safe mode. Go to the addons thingy, and don't disable Personas, UNINSTALL IT. Because then it takes the problem off completely. There you go. The problem is solved on Windows and Mac.

  • I can't install Google toolbar to mozilla 5.0 why?

Why i can't install Google toolbar to my Mozilla 5.0 browser? Kindly provide your valuable replay regarding this issue.

The answer has been provided by Google, so you will need to start working on the workarounds while you will still be able to use it at all.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.
*Enable Google Toolbar in Firefox 5<br>http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2011/06/enable-google-toolbar-in-firefox-5.html
*the-edmeister posted a brief evaluation of the situation<br>https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/841736

Probably not the answers you were hoping for but it does give you more time and workarounds. It is very unlikely that Google would change their mind as Google Chrome does not have it and both Firefox and Chrome can do everything with or without extensions. Please mark as solved.
