I can't access Google.

I know lot's of people have asked about this, but they've all had different resolutions. I have tried doing the things they did to no avail.
If I try to access google or any of google's pages it eventually times out. If I visit a website that has google ads in it, the site hangs. I cannot access google with safari or firefox. I am using a Macbook Pro and if I reboot into Windows via bootcamp. I can access google just fine. Same cable box, same router, same computer even. It is only when I am using the Mac OS that I have the problem.
It is ridiculous to reboot into windows everytime I run across a site that loads google ads before the rest of its content.

I still cannot access google. I use windows exclusively now.
Every now and again, I reboot my machine back into the mac OS and sigh.
I can access google if:
my computer is booted into Windows.
I can access google when my machine is booted into the mac OS if:
I am tethered to my router or cable modem by an ethernet cable.
based on this observation I figure that something about the mac OS's handling of airport is making me unable to access google.

For the past day, I can not access Google with Firefox/Windows 8.1. I receive this error message-#97.4cc88f18.1405998904.5166be9.
I do not have this problem with Safari on my IPad.

    Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • Can't access google calendar with parental controls on

We are trying to give our daughter accesss to the family's Google calendar.  In the parental controls we have "try to limit adult websites" as the selection.  With this on, she is not able to log into the calendar - it gives a message that says something about not being able to establish a secure connection.  She can go on the Google homepage without problem and search, etc. - but she can't access the Google sign-in or the calendar.
When we change the parental controls setting to "allow all websites" she can log onto the calendar without any problem.
We also tried adding the various google web address strings under the "customize" tab for "always allow these sites" while still leaving the "try to limit adult websites" as the overall setting.  Even with the specific sites approved - she still can't access the calendar.
What's up??  Isn't there a way we can allow her to see the calendar without having to give her unecessary exposure to anything on the net?

So after I made my original post above I continued searching the forums and found the answer below.  It refers to Googla Mail but their solution worked just as well for Google Calendar.  Who knew it would be so simple.  I just went into "always allow these sites" and put in the 1e100.net and it worked like a champ!  The adult sites are still screened out but she can now access Google without any issue.

Re: Why can't I access Gmail anymore when internet restrictions are in plac

Finally!!!!! This solution works! Yea!  There are two scenarios I know of: 1. If you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Allow access only to these websites" (they can only get to the websites that are bookmarked by you) and if Google Mail was already a bookmark, then just do this: click the plus sign below the list in "Parental Controls/Content/Allow access only to these websites", and choose "Add Bookmark." On the pop-up, name the site "goog" or anything you want; then type in: 1e100.net in the box asking for an address. This will produce a new bookmark (named "goog" or whatever you've chosen), but will in effect just be a dummy or slave bookmark that you'll never use, but it'll allow you to get to your user's google mail sign in page by hitting the old google mail bookmark he or she used to hit. Second scenario (I have both scenarios in my home): if you have users for whom under "Parental Controls/Content" you've chosen "Try to Limit Access to Adult Websites Automatically", click the "Customize" button and then on the top of the pop-up, under "Always Allow These Websites," click the plus button and then add: 1e100.net . Then click OK. This user will now be able to get to his or her google mail sign in page.

  • Can't access Google or Yahoo from one user account

My son told me that since I upgraded to Yosemite last week he can't access Google. I tried and I also can't access Yahoo and discussions.apple.com (though apple.com works fine), but I can access Bing without an issue. The thing is that everything works fine from my own account and also from my wife's.
The issue is regardless of browser (tried with Chrome, Safari and Firefox), I restarted the computer several times, checked parental permissions, deleted chrome extensions, flushed the DNS via command center, checked Hosts file, emptied the cache from the browsers and restarted the computer again. Still no difference.
I tried typing Google IP directly and it worked.
    Any ideas?

Wondering if you found an answer.  I have yahoo calendar that my admin assistant uses from her computer to put in appointments etc.  I have had Yahoo sync to iCal for quite a while, and it has been working pretty well.  Now I am trying to get the Yahoo calendar to go to icloud. Yahoo is still syncing with my iCal on my macbook, but that is not translating to the icloud calendar.  The only thing that goes from iCal mac to icloud is calendar (under ON MY MAC) - which really has nothing on it.  All of the separate calendars from yahoo show up on the iCal side bar under Yahoo, but I can't figure out how to get them to show up (or transfer) to the icloud calendar.
    Any help would be appreciated

  • I read another comment that my Coby Kyros tablet can run Firefox OS beta. Unless I run the tablet in root mode, I can't access Google Play. Any other options?

My tablet is using Android 4.0. (ICS)
The Coby website for the MID9740 says it has an Allwinner Cortex™-A8 however that is misleading, as this is really an AllWinner A10, which is a cortex A8 ARM CPU.to be accurate) The Cortex A8 is based on the ARMv7 architecture. It also has 1GB RAM, and cpu is 1 GHz.
Out of the box,(and not rooted) it can't access the Google Play for FirefoxOS download. If I root it, I can download from Google. I'm not afraid to root my tablet, but I know many others' are. I had it rooted before using ClockworkMod, but decided to restore to factory.(similar to a routine bi-annual reformat with Windows and Linux on my desktop)
I was just wondering if AndroidPit or any other sites have the beta available to test out on my Kyros.
Could you please let me know? Thanks for your kind help, and have a great day!
    Best regards always,
    Todd in Oregon

  • Since the last update to Firefox 33 I can't access google or e-mail

I am out of options and do not know what else to do, I have tried every trick I could find on this and many other boards and still have the same issue.
I cannot access Google or my web mail or the "add on" menu to name a few since the latest update (Firefox 33) hit my computer three days ago. I cannot down load programs some times but other time it lets me??? My IE works fine. If I switch the search engine in Firefox to say Bing over Google everything seems to work except access to my web mail still blocked.
I have uninstalled my MacAfee and Firefox and reinstalled first just Firefox and had the same issue. Can anyone give me a clue on just what the heck happened and how to fix.

Is there anything unusual about your connection settings? You can check here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" settings, but you also can try "No proxy" to see whether that works any better.
I want to explore the potential secure site issue in more depth. If you open Google in IE and click the padlock icon in the address bar, then View Certificate, what information do you find in the Issuer/Issued by section?
A couple other general things you might not have tried, which address possible corruption in settings files (your profile folder), and possible problems in your Firefox program folder.
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also will have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > Run (hold Windows key an press R):
    firefox.exe -P
    ''Don't delete anything here.''
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Go ahead and click the Create Profile button, give it a name like Nov8, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
''Until you go back to the Profile Manager and start up in your regular profile, your desktop shortcut should fire up the new profile.''
    Can you get to Google?
Note: When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button on your new test profile. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.
You can replace Firefox's program files without disturbing your settings using this '''Clean Reinstall''' procedure:
    (1) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 33 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
    (2) If applicable, exit out of Firefox or make sure it is fully terminated in Task Manager.
    (3) Rename the folder ''(64-bit Windows folder names)''
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    to
    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
    (4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
    Does it run?
Note: Some recently installed plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
    * C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\Plugins
    * C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox\browser\plugins

  • Can't access Google pages

Has anyone else had trouble accessing gmail, Google search engine, or anything else Google-related over the past three days? I can't load anything. When I try with Safari I get:
The error was: “lost network connection” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1005)
I have a free Netscape browser that I downloaded because Safari won't open things like RealPlayer within a webpage sometimes, and when I tried to get on Google.com this morning with the Netscape Navigator, it told me "The document contains no data."
Has anyone else had trouble getting onto Google sites? I figured this was Google's problem because I can access all other websites.

So it was a problem with my service provider all along, and there appears to be nothing I can do about it.
Have you spoken with your ISP? Not sure why you think they cannot help you?
Usually, where there is a specific page not loading, the problem indicators are either a cache or cookie problem if it's OS related, or cable box or cable line if originating from the ISP.
The other day, I Archived and Installed (my first in Tiger) due to an unrelated problem, so I empathize with you about the frustration of going down that path. I have bootable clones set up on my firewire external, one being a very basic "pure" version of Tiger having a few utilities and Safari. Seems my problem migrated to my regular system clone before I realized what was going on. Booting from the "pure" clone showed me the problem was with the OS. Rather than dissect it further, I opted for the A & I. So, clones can be very helpful diagnostic tools for figuring out where a problem originates. Of course, the alternative is "time on the telephone", which is in my top 3 of things I do not like to do! You may want to consider having a similar backup strategy. I use SuperDuper for creating the backups.

I'm sure this is just a bug or me just missing the button, as I know apple wouldn't leave out the access to the largest cloud service in the world.

It seems that Google Docs will not work properly on the iPad because it thinks you are using Mobile Safari. You can view but not edit.

  • Can't access google site from my 10.4 power pc today. What happened?

Yesterday I ran updates and now my google site won't open on the computer.

    Hello,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If that doesn't fix it...
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

  • Can't access Google (all their apps) or Yahoo

I let my little cousin, who is unfamiliar with Macs, use my computer last night, and since then none of the Google sites will work, and neither will Yahoo. And no, it's not Parental settings or anything like that. I use Firefox, but the entire Computer has the problem. Changing users or browsers doesn't help.
My boyfriend tried to help me, ans asked me to ping Google in the terminal. This is what came up:
    PING google.com (74.125.53.100): 56 data bytes
    No route to host
He then got me to do a traceroute in Terminal, and I got this:
traceroute: Warning: google.com has multiple addresses; using 74.125.53.100
traceroute to google.com (74.125.53.100), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets
traceroute: sendto: No route to host
    1 traceroute: wrote google.com 40 chars, ret=-1
*traceroute: sendto: No route to host
He then said I should ask you fine people, as we'd reached the limits of his knowledge and were far beyond my own. Please let me know if you can help! Thanks!

By the way, only Google and Yahoo sites are blocked, as far as I've found, and those are the two my cousin told me she was trying to access for a school report. She was able to use other sites, so I am guessing she maybe did something when trying to access those two, but I can't imagine what she could have done that wouldn't be easy to fix. And since she doesn't use a Mac, she won't be able to tell me what she may have done, accidental or not.
