I can't access my pictures anymore through iPhoto because I simply don't know where they are stored when imported into iPhoto. The library used automatically before is not shown anymore. Can anyone help me to recover all my pictures?
I had some problems with my MacbookPro and did some clean up and further back-up (time machine already in place for a long time). Now, suddenly I can't access my pictures anymore through iphoto asking me for a library (never asked for before) and I have no clue where the pictures are actually saved when imported in iphoto. Can anyone help me recover my pictures, such as telling me WHERE the pictures are actually stored? Thank you so much!

Do you have an iPhoto library in yoru pictures folder? If you depress and hold the option key and launch iPhoto - what do you see in the select library window? Select each library there and see what you have

Logic doesn't see the GarageBand files and neither do I .... So I reattempt saving it and my iPad sees the files there so .... They're there

With your iPad connected, open iTunes & select the iPad
Select the Apps tab, and scroll down to File Sharing.
Select the GB songs you wish to get onto the Mac and click "Save to"
By default, these seem to go to <User> Documents, but you could save them anywhere (Check where you setup is saving them).
Open Logic, and then File:Open
Navigate to wherever you saved your GB songs to, and select one. Open it
Logic prompts you to save this new project somewhere... done.

THe messages are not in my archives and I don't delete them as soon as I get them. Where in the world are they going? I needed a number of them in order to make appropriate responses, and they are no longer in my inbox!
do you get your mail on another device which might be deleting them after 3 days. A phone perhaps.

I have like 4-5 teeny tiny dots in the screen of my iphone i don't know what they are from. I can only see some of them when I tilt my phone a certain way. And they are little bitty but I am wondering what they are from

Actually you’re not.
The iPhoto Window reports the size of the library that would result if you exported all the current versions +and nothing else+ to a folder on the desktop.
The iPhoto Library Folder contains the Original, Modified and thumbnail versions of your pics. It also contains various cache and database files +all of which are necessary+ for the working of the Library.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
You can run a Library on an external disk:
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

I have very thin, colored lines that have shown up on my IMac monitor screen. I don't know where they came from or how to get rid of them. I'm concerned now because I started with one and now have three. Does any know why this occurs or how to get rid of them?
I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere. -

What is going on with Lion??? Something has happened to my Mac Pro since I got Lion! I cannot save documents in Word, or at least if I do I have no idea where they are after I save then, Word does not know either! I have never seen this before? As a conseqience I have lost files despite saving them in the usual way......God knows where they are! In the middle of all this I am suddenly asked for my Mobile Me password,,,,,in Word??? I am willing to split up the two symptoms if they are not related. But I know the speakers aren't broken because I hear the Bong noise at boot, but to my misfortune I made the mistake of deleting something (important I guess) in the Audio Midi Setup (Audio Devices window). I was trying to figure out how to split audio tracks between my headphones and speakers so I could listen to music in one ear while skyping (sounds stupid I know, but I stay on Skype with a long distance coworker most of the day). I guess some 17 hours ago when the failure happened I found on Google that there were sound settings in the Audio Midi Setup and had the great idea to go clicking around in there. Somehow deleted the black option thing (only got a quick look) when my computer lagged and then no more sound... I've been trying to fix it with stuff I found on google but I think I made it worse because now my macbook hangs on a black screen during the shutdown process when I choose to restart from the Apple Menu up there in the top left of my screen. I'm out of Ideas, I've tried clearing P & V rams or whatever several times and gone through almost every post on these forums and google that I can find that have any words relevant to what is the problem. After 15 hours of trying on my own I thought I'd ask for help.
Any additional info I can provide let me know please.

While opening palm desktop I got the dreaded "Error failed to open Date Book database" and my ENTIRE datebook was EATEN AGAIN...
Shame on me for depending on this flakey software to keep track of my entire G*dd*mn life but there it is...
I WAS still running 4.2. I've tried uninstalling 4.2 and installing 6.2 under the (obviously) mistaken assumption that there's a way to fix the corrupt datebook database in 6.2.
Now I can't even access any of my other data like ALL OF MY ADDRESSES AND TELEPHONE NUMBERS, ALSO (SILLY ME!!!) entrusted to this flakey POS software....
because now I cannot find any way in the menus or imports or WHATEVER in 6.2 to connect the program to my old profile...
Does anyone know of any 3rd party software that can retrieve my data from the old databases? (That would be my first preference -- GET MY INFORMATION and then deep six this sucker!)...
Is there a CLUE anywhere in any documentation about how I can reconnect my GOOD data with 6.2???
Post relates to: Visor PrismThis happens probably because of 2 existing palm desktop data. Older version of PDS will store the user data under c:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One on the other hand PDS 6.2 will store the User Data under My Documents\PalmOS Desktop.
Given that you have all the updated data on your phone, Uninstall Palm Desktop , and make sure you remove all other folders for previous PDS. (rename palm folders under program files and palm os desktop under mydocuments). Once everything has been removed, install fresh installation of PDS, sync your device and just make sure you set the sync method to Handheld overwrites Desktop. -

I think you need to un-pair your mouse. Leave it a few minutes than re-pair it as if you were starting from scratch and using the following details. Item 1 will probably meet your needs.

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
Turning on the sidebar should make things easier.

Are you in a country where films can be redownloaded - the page that you posted from should list countries and where the different content types can be redownloaded. But even if you, not all countries have agreed to allow their films be redownloaded, and there is no guarantee that a film (or any other item) will remain in the store, so you shouldn't rely on being able to redownload them. You also can't add films and/or tv programmes to the cloud, whether an item appears there depends upon your country, the film studio, and if it remains in the store.
