I can't access my YouTube account

I recently deleted my entire Google account and associated data (including YouTube account info) and then signed up for a fresh account. I did this because my daughter and I were sharing an account and all of her YouTube subscriptions were mixing in with mine. After getting this all done I tried to sign in to YouTube on my AppleTV and keep getting rejected. I used the gmail address that I set up because this is how you have to do it now. I read online about the 2 step verification and the ASP (application specific password) and that didn't work either. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know I can just use Airplay but I'd rather not have to fire up the YouTube app on one of my iOS devices when I used to be able to access it perfectly from with the AppleTV interface.

Ok, so after searching around some more on the web I found this article and it solved my problem. It's from the forums but I'm just going to copy and paste it here for reference. Thanks to the author! It solved my issue!

Wow - After a couple of days trying to find help setting up my New Apple TV and Login in to You Tube there was just not enough information in any one place. I searched Google, You Tube, Apple, and found bits and pieces and finally figured it out...At Least I was able to get mine to work. So here are some steps for you to take. I am not going to type all the information from the various steps you need to take. Just know you need to go to these places and set them up correctly before the Apple TV You Tube will accept your password.
1) Turn on 2 step verification in your G-mail Account settings...Look at the videos and help. Be sure to record or print your back up codes. Download the Google Authenticator app for your IPhone, IPad, IPod and set it up. So in a nutshell - Get your E-mail and IPhone, IPod, IPad working first with the 2 step verification code. This all working correctly will help you later login in to the Apple TV You Tube. There are instructions how to use the App, Exchange, Etc...Much to read in Google to get this far, but if you do not complete this step - It won't work........(well mine would not work) If your not using an IPad, IPod, IPhone, you can still get your desktop, laptop, etc setup and working.
2) The message from Apple TV You Tube that the account can not be used is simple, Apple TV wants you to log in so you can save to your favorites in You Tube, or rate a You Tube...You Must have a You Tube Account and Setup with the Google account name you are trying to use on the Apple TV You Tube. You MUST setup your You Tube Account Channels....This is where the Apple TV You Tube is trying to save your favorite etc. If this is not set up...the message that this account can not be used will appear.
3) If you got this far....Only one step left...And you probably already read about it...But when you try to log in to You Tube on the Apple TV....FIRST use your regular normal password that you use for You Tube...The message will appear that the password is incorrect....NOW..Don't try another account...Use the same acount and this time put in the 2 step verification password...You Create this verification code in your Google Account Security setting that you have used to setup your You Tube...
I hope this helps someone..I spent 3 days reading all the bits and pieces and there was just not enough information all in one place..GL

Not entirely: the website can't be used from an android browser (not properly - even with Dolphin HD and posing as different browsers it won't load correctly. So Find my iphone is out, so is the address book or looking at your e-mail or calendar just in a browser window
I was able to setup my e-mail using the IMAP settings published here:

Be sure to setup the account manually - and note if you have trouble using SSL try TLS (that worked for me)
Address book is a no go so you'll have to use iTunes to sync all your contacts over to Gmail - if you still have an iPad it means managing contacts in two places though . iWork is an Apple proprietary bit so don't expect much there.
So in my case, if I'm really going to make the switch to a Galaxy from my iPhone it really means I'm going to have to switch to using google as the backend. The timing to swap over to a galaxy/android phone is not the greatest - given that I'd have to give up my Apple addiction (syncing photos and itunes and losing access to my device tracking). Plus I still have an iPad and a mac and like living in the Apple ecosystem. I think I'll wait and see what the new iPhone looks like before I commit

I did a factory restore and then restored it with iCloud back-up. I have been using lots of Apple products and i have used three different email adresses. Almost all apps restored perfectly but everytime i try to play a song in the Music app, i asks me for a Apple-ID i had no idea i have used.
Hence:
I lost my password for my original iTunes account
I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid
How can I access my old account?
Can't find a place to change the email address to my new one without the password which I no longer remember.
There is no way to just erase Apple-ID's on my device either.
What to do? Should i ju give up and start from scratch and delete 2 years of stuf?

If you can remember the answers to the security questions when you set up that account - I think that you can reset the password without needing email authentication. You can try it here. Read it and see if it's possible. But if you can't remember the answers to the questions it will not work.

First of all you should really post this in Itunes forums cause you might get more hits on it.. Anyway.. You can only authorize up to 5 comps on one itunes account.. This does not include iOS devices. Those you can have 10.
So to fix this issue, open itunes, hit store on the left side, click log in (or your e-mail address if you are already logged in) in the top right hard corner of the page. One you log into your account you will see a a little area where it says you authorized 5 out of 5 comps. Below it should be a button to clear all those out. Itunes will de-authorize all computers on the account then you need to go back Store tab in the menu bar and select authorize this computer.
Remember it will deauthorize all your computers, so you need to re-authorize any other computers you have.

The website rightfully rejects my password. I cannot overwrite my pre-filled user-name because the second I hit enter to logon, the original user-name rewrites itself into it's field. Neither of the user names is being saved by firefox anywhere in the "tools"; Options, security, advanced or privacy menu fields.
I did notice that that website has installed a cookie onto my computer called "_rememberme" which contains the user-name that is plaguing me.
This is a website that I access for very sensitive and important information and I must have both accounts accessible at different times.

i followed your link on how to delete content from all things Apple, and nothing removes books, movies, music... it just gives said device(s) the iCloud/download icon on top of the book, movie... not sure what the 'hide' purchase actually does - after X'ing/hide, everything STILL appears across all devices using that account. could you clarify this any further?

Your signature says you have 10.6.8 which is Snow Leopard, but that is still not compatible with iCloud. You cannot back up your computer to iCloud in any case - it doesn't provide for that, only for iOS backups.
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
If you have already set up an iCloud account on another Mac or device you can make limited use of it with Snow Leopard - details here.
To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
