I can't access the AT&T network all of the sudden

Hey guys and gals. I switched my phone off and when I turned it back on it seems to have broken. I can't access my wireless network any longer. I've tried turning "Airport Mode" on and off; I've turned it off and back on again; I've done a hard reset on the phone hardware; and last but not least I've done a "Restore" from inside iTunes. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to try next (other than just taking it in to the store)? Has this happened to any of you?

What exactly is happening? Do you get "No Service"? Have you tried another location? (You might have a local network outage.)
Things to try:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Remove and reinsert SIM card.
Restore as "New" iPhone.

I have just acquired an iMac desktop (about 4 years old). I want to connect to my Apple airport wireless network, but cannot remember the password. How can I access the password or, if necessary, reset it. I already use a MacBook Pro and an iPad on the network and don't want to jeopardize what already works well. I am not all that computer literate.

How can I access the password or, if necessary, reset it.
Read the user manual that came w/your Airport router or you can cross-post in one of the  AirPort Forums for instructions.

  • Networks will "connect" over Wifi, but DNS resolution is impossible and I can't access the internet.

My OSX 10.7.5 iMac (late 2011) will connect to my university's wireless network and thinks it's connected to the internet, but cannot resolve any DNS - and cannot actually access the internet on any browser or internet-utilising app. My university has 2 networks, a regular wifi one and an eduroam one. I have the same problem on both networks. My MacBook, running Snow Leopard, and my iPad (latest software) both connect to both networks just fine.
Because it's my university's network, i can't reset my router or anything like that. I'm in halls. I don't think it's a network issue, because all my other devices are fine.
I've searched high and low on these forums but haven't found anyone having exactly the same problem as me - I've heard of odd few minutes of people losing their connections in this manner, but my computer's been down now for hours and nothing. I've restarted it many times, even once in "Recovery Mode" and I'm getting nothing. I've followed instructions to flush my DNS cache, renew DHCP leases, I've tried manually inputting various DNSes I've found (eg the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 google ones), none of which have worked.
Using terminal, I can't ping either an http:// domain, or an IP address. Both get "timed out" as a response. I can't access the internet on any browser (chrome, safari, firefox), my google mail notifier, Skype, or my twitter app. Or anything else.
I'm relatively computer literate, but I'm not particularly code-savvy, so I'd really appreciate it if I could get some step-by step help on here, bearing in mind what I've already tried. I'm really worried, because it all seems to have happened completely out of the blue. Last time I updated was some time a couple weeks ago; I update whenever my software update beeps at me.
    Thanks.

  • My desktop has 2 users. Apple TV can only access the library on one of them. The other is says it is unable to contact. Network and home sharing settings are identical. Thoughts?

Any ideas why I can only access the itunes library and photos of one of the two user accounts on my iMAC? Settings for each of the accounts is the same, as far as I can tell.
    Appreciate any help.

If you are attempting to share to both at the same time, you can't.
Are you selecting the second AppleTV in home sharing options on the MBP. Are all devices signed in for Home Sharing with the same AppleID?

Dear apple, I am really dissapointed with you. Around January 2013, my iPhone 4s 16GB White has hardware issues, which was the Wi-Fi grey out. The wifi grey out means that I can't access the wifi on/off button, and also it has no connection. I have put up with it for months, until june 7 when I decided it has been long enough, and I got a replacement. I told the genius bar what happened, and I already did the so called "steps" that apple reccommended on the site, which was reset network settings, restore iPhone. The genius bar gave me a replacement phone, so I was expecting that the problem would be over, but it isn't. It seems that it's iOS 6.1.3 which is the case of most public complaints on apple iPhone products. Not even 3 weeks after I got the phone replaced, it is doing it again, so I suspect I'm just going to get a replacement again? Unfortunately I only have until 5th of july 2013 until my 1 year warranty is up. After that, any issue I have, I have to purchase apple care. People are expecting this problem to be fixed but I don't see it being solved any time soon. This is horrible and really low, because I have been a good customer, when I talk to the people at the genius bar, I show the utmost respect I can to them for the work they put into their job, but somewhere there is a problem where something has gone wrong. Because of that, people that only have a one year warranty (which i received because I purchased my apple iPhone at an Optus outlet, once that one year warranty is up, I have to pay for a problem that isn't even my fault? That isn't how it should work, you should be fixing this problem so people can be happy customers and leave happy. Obviously you don't all know how to do your jobs, because if you did, we wouldn't have this problem. I would like a replacement phone, ONCE AGAIN. If this problem occurs again, I will simply stop buying your products, and lose faith in your company, your's sincerely, Jack Maher.

This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing Apple here.
My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.

  • Can't access the web-site in my home folder from the internet.  Need help.

I am trying to publish a website from the Sites folder in my home directory. The website is made and I can access it from from every computer within my ethernet. But despite a couple attempts I made I can not get the website published on the internet.
I have an Airport Express station. Two Macs and one PC are using the ethernet. As far as I can tell the Airport Express station is directly connected to the internet. I live in a brand new apartment which has Lan outlets in every room next to the electricity outlets. I have a single designated internet IP address.
To open my computer to the internet I set the "Default Host Option" in the Airport Administrator Utility and selected the default three digits for the "Default Host option" IP address. Then I updated the Airport Express station, manually set the IP address in the Network preferences on my Mac to the "Default Host option" IP address and activated Personal Web Sharing in the Sharing preferences. By doing so I lost my internet connection. It turned out I still had the same IP address that I had before I selected Default Host Option.
As I understand with the Default Host Option I designate one IP address within the ethernet to receive all traffic from outside. But how do you now tell the Airport Express station which computer on the ethernet will be the host for the incoming traffic carrying the Default Host Option IP address? Apparently just setting the IP address manually in the clients computer Network preferences to the "Default Host Option" IP address doesn't tell the Airport Express station to change the IP address it has assigned to this client to the Default Host Option IP address.
In another attempt to make my website accessible on the internet I removed the Default Host Option and instead opened Public Port 80 and Private Port 80 for the IP address of the client computer in the Port Mapping tap of the Airport Administrator Utility. But again, no access to my website from the internet.
To access the website from within the ethernet I use the following web-link, which works fine:
    http://192.xxx.x.x/~user/index.html
The internet of course doesn't see the 193 IP address. It only sees the Public IP address. Therefore I used the Public address instead of the Private IP address to connect to my website from the internet:
    http://222.xxx.xxx.xxx/~user/index.html
But as I said, I still can't access the website from the internet.
I have the feeling that I conceptually don't understand something correctly. I would appreciate if somebody could help me with this problem.

If you would rather not mess with the registry you can often work round with a shift key start.
Hold down the shift key and start iTunes, keep holding down the shift key until you are asked to choose or create a library. If you already have one, navigate to your iTunes folder and choose iTunes Library.itl. Otherwise create a new library in My music.

  • New Ipod Touch 5g can't access Internet in home network (using Linksys E4200 router). But, OK with other Wifi.

Just bought new Ipod Touch 5g. I found out it can't access Internet in home network. not really cannot access, but very slow to open any web page, App Store failed to access, etc. But, OK with other Wifi (office & starbucks). Others existing iOS devices (Iphone4 & Ipad2) have no problem like this. I'm using Linksys E4200 router at home. anyone has any idea why?

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>GeneralReset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Sorry, no. Apple does not support downgrading.
Have you tried to go into your settings, reset, reset network settings? It'll erase your current network from your iPad and let you start over.

  • My LG Optimus Zone is having software issues and I can't access the Recovery Menu for a Factory Reset

My LG Optimus Zone is having software issues and I can't access the Recovery Menu for a Factory Reset. It was working fine until I went to activate it and update the PRL. It turns on, but Freezes on the LG Logo. it currently goes into the LG Download Mode, and When I restore with LG's Mobile Support Tool, It finishes, reboots, and stays at the boot Logo. I was wondering if I can possibly get a replacement phone? This is a little upsetting, as i was hoping to have it transfered from prepaid to postpaid service next month

  • I can't access the internet from my home wi-fi.  It works on other wi-fi, and my wi fi is working on my h ome computer.  I keep getting a message that says it can't access the server

I can't access the internet using my home wi-fi. My wi-fi is working on my home computer, and the itouch can access the internet at another person's home using their wi-fi.  I've looked in the settings, and can't seem to see any differences.....i'm a techno dummy - so please respond in very basic info

Before resetting try restarting.  Or you can go to Settings from the home screen > Wi-Fi > your network and scroll down to 'Renew Lease' and press that.  When you do you should see a button labeled 'Renew Lease?' and another labeled 'Cancel'.  Select 'Renew Lease'.
You can either back out of that screen back to the home screen or just use the return button to go back to the home screen.  Then select Safari and see if you can hook in.
I have to go through that process every five or ten minutes or so when in the second story of our house - weak router signal up there.

  • How can I access the iphoto library using windows pc? Upgrading to aperture solves my problem?

How can I access the iphoto library using windows pc? Upgrading to aperture solves my problem?
My home network is used both by my macbook and my wife's windows pc. Considering that, I would like to know if we can share our pictures with each other (specially because I intend to store all of them into a NAS storage - WD My Cloud, probably).

No you can not - neither iPhoto nor Aperture has any cross platform capability
You can share photos with the PC using MyPhotoStream or Shared PhotoStreames
You can not share the iPhoto library
And you can not put the iPHoto library on a NAS - it MUST always be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and mube on a fast wired local connection - it can not be on a Network
There are Digital Asset Managers that can do what you want - iPhoto and Aperture can not

Re: Trouble connecting to apps and iTune store.
Jan 30, 2013 10:29 PM (in response to DonWhite)
Like so many others, after updating to OS6 and changing my iCloud password, none of my devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, iMac etc) could connect to the tunes store, the error message was something "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again." However, there was nothing wrong with my internet connection - programs like Safari & Mail worked just fine.
After trawling through the discussions and trying the recommendations (change time/date, activate location services, reset network settings etc) I just became more frustrated.
I figured that if iTunes thought my network connection was the problem, maybe I should try tricking it and, after much trial, error and frustration, I did find a solution - and it may work for you...
I turned off WiFi on my iPhone, then connected to my telco's 3G network, then connected to the iTunes store and it worked fine. Then I switched back to WiFi and all is good. Did the same for the iPad. For the MacBook and iMac I turned off WiFi then tethered the iPhone on the 3G network to the computer, then connected to iTunes Store, then went back to WiFi. For some reason that I don't understand, this all went as planned and now everything works.
Anyway, I thought I should contribute to the community by letting you know the solution I found. Of course, this may not necessarily work for you, but it's worth a shot.

  • Can't access the Music Store.  This thing is driving me nuts!!!

Ever since installing iTunes V7.x I had stability problems with iTunes and my Video iPod. I finally gave up and rolled back to iTunes 6.04 and restored the iPod to its former firmware. I thought my problems were behind me until I noticed this morning that none of my Podcasts were being updated, even though it looked like it was going through the motions. Every single podcast had a with the message:
"There was a problem downloading "xxx". The network connection was reset"
I then tried accessing the Music Store and got the message:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was reset."
I checked and re-entered my Apple account name and password, but still no go. If I went to the Apple web site directly, then the Apple store, I had no problem logging in. In the early iTune days I had the same "network connection reset" problem, but Apple apparently fixed it. Now here it is again. It is my gut feel that the problem has something to do with the fact that I depend on a satellite internet feed (Hughesnet). I'm guessing that there is some security feature either in iTunes, the Music Store, or both that is getting confused by the long turn-around time (latency) resulting from using satellite, but no way to prove it (unfortunately, due to poor health, I can't get out to try other internet connections).
Bottom line is I am stuck with an iPod I can't use because I can't access the Music Store. Any ideas?

Believe it or not I got mine working finally though I'm not sure which of the following steps, if any, did the trick. I posted this problem in the DSLReports forum. Apparently several people had problems though none mentioned iTunes specifically. The 'fix' was to go into the advanced menu and change the proxy port to something other than Port: 87. The idea was that this effectively turns off the proxy server or I should say forces your receiver to not use the proxy server. Well I tried this and didn't see any difference. Rather than screw anything else up I decided to reset the DW7000 thus restoring the original settings. For some reason it all of sudden could finally access the Music Store, update podcasts, etc.; i.e. it started working.
From what I've read, each time you reset the receiver it goes out an decides on the proxy server to use (not necessarily the same one each time). I'm guessing the proxy server it picked up after the reset was more iTunes friendly. Of course it's possible that it has nothing to do with the proxy server and the reset fixed whatever was wrong. Bottom line, reset your receiver and see if the access problem goes away. If not, try again. It only takes a few seconds so really you have nothing to loose. Kind of obvious when you think about it. What's the first thing you do when your computer is having a problem? Yep, reset.

  • I can not access the hard drive connected to my airport extreme!  Any thoughts?

I can not access the hard drive connected to my ariport extreme.  When I use the finder to connect a server and type in the IP of the a. extreme, 10.0.1.1 it does not work and I get an error message.
    Any thoughts.
    A

Is the hard drive formatted for Mac in Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
If yes, you may need to use a powered USB hub since the USB port on the AirPort Extreme is under powered and it is often necessary to use a powered hub....even if the hard drive has its own power supply
If both items check out above.....have you checked Finder Preferences to make sure that "Connected Servers" will be displayed?
Finder Preferences > General > Show These Items on the Desktop > Connected Servers
Then with the Finder menus displayed at the top of the screen click the Go menu
Click Network and the AirPort Extreme icon should be displayed
Double click the icon to mount the drive on the desktop
