Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
Make sure your Mac OS X software is up to date.
Disconnect the iPad from your Mac.
Open System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now
If any updates are required, make sure to restart your Mac after the updates are installed then connect your iPad and see if iTunes recognizes it under Devices.

It sounds like you have a crossfade turned on. Check the Playback tab in iTunes Preferences to see if anything is selected that would give that kind of behavior.

At a guess, turn off VoiceOver: Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver. Use three fingers to scroll.

Placing your iPod into recovery mode should allow you to successfully restore the device.
You might see these error messages if any of these are true:
Your device has a beta version of iOS.
You're trying to install an earlier version of iOS (downgrading).
Your device has unauthorized modifications to iOS, also called "jailbreaking."
Use recovery mode to restore your device to the latest version of iOS.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

I am not able to print anything while using Firefox. I know that other people have had this problem. I can not print from any any web site while using firefox. What is the problem. My family has tried this method of communicating in the pass unsuccessfully. Why is there know response from Firefox support. What good is Firefox if you can not answer and solve major problems such as this. I can not even print air travel ticket info for airline web sites while using Firefox. You not to fix this problem and notify your users of what they need to do. AGAIN- WHY IS IT THAT USERS OF FIREFOX ARE NOT ABLE TO PRINT ANY PAGES OR INFORMATION WHILE USING FIREFOX.
