I can't activate Facetime or Messages using my apple id. I
I can't activate Facetime or Messages on my iPad 2 using my apple id. It comes up with the message that my username or password is incorrect.
But I can login to the app store using the same username/password.
This problem is restricted to Facetime and Messages.
Does anybody have a solution for me?

I have a problem with my iphone4. I was trying to activate my iMessage by using the apple ID but it was impossible.
It says that the username or password is incorrectly, but when i use the same username and password for login in iTune (lets say) eveything is ok.
This is very strange.
If you know how to solve this situation, please let me know.

I can't activate facetime in egypt using vodafone
I have to Iphone 4 in Egypt , one is mobinil and other is Vodafone. Both on ios 4.3.5. When I tried to use facetime , mobinil one work probably BUT the vodafone one error "waiting for activation"
Where did the iPone that won't activate come from? If you got it from Vodaphone, I'd contact them. If you got it elsewhere (out of the country) then it's possible it's trying to send an international text message to the mothership to activate facetime. If you can't send International text messages, it will not be able to activate.

Nowhere on my iPhone 4 can I activate FaceTime... I've tried using contacts, settings, and even when I call someone with an active FaceTime, the FaceTime icon is not lit up. Any suggestions?
There is no facetime icon and never was. Facetime is built into the phone. Go to settings>general>restrictions and make sure facetime is ON. Go to settings>facetime and turn it on there and set it up there. Also read http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268

I can't activate FaceTime on my iPad. Keep getting activation error "your user name/password is incorrect" even though both are correct and I'm using them to login to iTune and this support community even after i reset it to check!!
The iPad iOS is 6.0.1 and I'm in Canada so no country/region restriction. I've checked the date and time settings as mentioned on some support pages and restarted my iPad but still nothing.

Has erred and pressed on ( Erase iPhone ) and Already been cleared Contents,
After that my wife was running iPhone.
But there are two problems:
1 - can't activate FaceTime by phone number, but by the Apple ID it's okay!
2 - can't not activate iMassage by phone number, but by the Apple ID it's okay!

Ahmad BinhimdIf the device was remotely wiped using Fimd My iPhone it can take up to 24 hours for the phone number to verify using Facetime and iMessage. Leave them turned on and do not toggle them off in that period of time.

Can't activate FaceTime - won't verify email
I can't activate FaceTime on the new ipad. I can sign in with my apple ID fine, but at the e-mail step it fails. No matter what e-mail address I put in there (including my apple ID), it spends about 30 seconds with a spinny icon saying "Verifying...", then says it couldn't verify, sent a verification email to the above address, follow the instructions in the email, but I NEVER GET AN EMAIL. I've done this perhaps 50 times over the last week and it always behaves the same.
It's extra bizarre because I go through the exact same steps for FaceTime on my MacBook Air, and it verifies instantly, and I have made many succesful facetime calls using my Air. But I can't sign up on the iPad.HERE'S WHAT WORKED FOR ME: I signed out of Facetime on my mac and then I could sign in on my ipad. Suddenly after 50 attempts, my ipad verified instantly (it didn't even send an e-mail, it just verified instantly). I guess being signed in on my mac caused some kind of conflict on Apple's servers. Now for the funny part: I was immediately able to sign-in again on my mac and now both my pad and mac have working FaceTime. You just can't be signed in on your mac when you are trying to setup FaceTime for the first time on the iPad. I guess.

The only thing that works for me and my iphone 5 was to backup my settings apps and email in Itunes (windows8). Restore the phone to factory default. After that i got a question about location service for itunes/ facetime etc... I skipped the question and says "no"
When the phone was reinstalled with factory defaults, I restored my apps etc... after that no more problems... The message when starting facebook, whatsapp about login to Itunes etc...is also gone...

I bought iphone4 from Dubai, but live in India. How can I activate FACETIME without Jailbreaking it ?
I'm only guessing here since I don't use Facetime myself but I think it depends on the model number of the phone. iPhones sold by UAE operators have unique model numbers and these do not get the Facetime app installed at all. Even in India, if you update or do a clean reinstall, you still the UAE-branded OS.
Facetime is blocked because the voice and video goes over WiFi and this eats into the profits of the mobile operators. Most countries here in the Middle East block video and voice chatting over the Internet - not due to censorship - but because the government-owned operators here enjoy monopolies and want all video and voice to go over their networks for maximum revenue. I live in Oman where for example Skype is blocked simply because it is seen as a competitor to the government landline operator. -

Since I updated to Mountain Lion I can not activate Facetime. Keep getting "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."
Back up all data.
Take the steps suggested in this support article:
FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: "There was an error processing registration" when signing in
Sign out of iMessage:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
Then sign back in with your verified credentials.
If you get the same error, try resetting the NVRAM. -

Actually this problem has started since iOS 6 . I have an iPhone 4S and iPad mini running on iOS 6.0.2 and iPad 2 running on iOS 6.0.1
On my iPhone , I can easily activate FaceTime and iMessage without any problems , but that's using my phone number .
Whenever I tried singing in using my Apple ID , I keep getting the 'The user name and password is incorrect ' even though I'm pretty sure its correct .
Same thing goes on my iPad 2 & mini , I tried activating FaceTime and iMessage but it just keeps saying the user name and password is incorrect .
I try to fix my DNS & I've done resets all other possible solutions I might find but to no avail .
- Funny thing is that when I use a different Apple ID, it gets activated.. anybody can help on what the **** is going on !!!!?

You can. As you've bought it in the UAE you should be aware that it doesn't have FaceTime installed on it (due to the country's law), and you will not be able to install it either - I think it is blocked by the serial number of the device, so even though you may take it to India you will not be able to get FaceTime even if you update the iOS when in India

As long as you're logged into the same AppleID on both devices, this is not a problem. It's only a problem if you're logged into a different AppleID and then try to associate FaceTime with an email that tied to the other AppleID.
