I can't activate icloud

After eventually downloading IOS 5, I have not been able to set up the icloud or imessage functions because I can not verify my email as it says it is already in use. Help anyone?

On a Mac running OSX 10.7.2 or above go to System Preferences>iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID. You canot create an iCloud account on lower systems.

Can't activate iCloud Keychain - Didn't received any sms activation code

I can't activate iCloud Keychain either on my MBP or my iPhone. Only option I have is to activate via SMS since non of my devices has, at this point, activated iCloud Keychain.
My phone number is the right one.
I've tried to activate it multiple times in multiple days, but I didn't received any sms with that activation code.
The steps I've take so far:
I've clicked "use Code"
that will be the final step, to insert the verification code but that code has never arrived.

You would need to upgrade OS X to 10.7.5 (Lion) or later to sync your Mac with iCloud. If you have 2GB of memory and 8GB of available hard drive space, you could upgrade to OS X Mavericks for free from the Mac App Store. After upgrading, you can sign into your iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud.
However, you don't need to do anything if you only need to use Find My iPhone. To use Find My iPhone to track your iOS devices from a computer you go to icloud.com from your browser, sign into the iCloud account the device you want to track is using and click Find My iPhone.

Hello i can not activate icloud from my ipad2 my old email address is my apple id.

ok maybe i should of worded it diferently
i curently have an apple id that i have had for years "[email protected]" i have since signed up to icloud and i cloud emails and i selected "[email protected]" for example! now when i try and update my original apple id "[email protected]" with my new @me.com email address it wont allow me!
i dont want to have 2 apple id's cause all my emails assosiated with my original apple id (eg Receipts from apple) go to my old email address and not my @me.com email!
does that make more sense ?

Can not activate iCloud photostream

I try to activate my photostream with iPhoto '11, but it doesn't work.
In the settings i activate the hook for photostream, but when i try to activate it appears an error und the hook is disabled.
The settings are ok. Now i try to activate it in iPhoto...
Error: photostream could not establish an internet connection.
The setting is disabled...
I hope you can help me. The photostream works on my iPhone and Apple TV perfectly.

Even though Photo Stream seems to be disabled in System Preferences > iCloud on your Mac, try resetting via iCloud.com

If you can do that, then restart your Mac, launch System Preferences > iCloud
See if you can select Photo Stream.

Can not activate icloud on my iphone (no email)

So i go to settings>icloud>account not verified> Check email then i go to email but no email sent. what am i my doing wrong?

Can't activate iCloud email

Hi,
I have an annoying issue with icloud mail.
I have an @icloud.com mail address connected to my apple id (which is an @mac.com address). I created it from the settings panel on my macbook. Something went wrong however. I can now sign in using the icloud mail, but I can't sync mail and notes. When I sign out of the icloud account on my mac and try to set it up from mail instead, mail crashes. When I try to sync it from the icloud settings panel it says the email is already in use - but I can't register another email.
On my iPhone and iPad it just says there was a problem, try again.
I've googled for hours and tried everything from reinstalling osx and resetting my iphone to deleting email plist files.
I could just leave it, but Apple sent me my developer confirmation to that address and I can't access it.
Any suggestions?

Delete the account, then sign back in with the correct address.

Can't activate iCloud for iWorks on iPad 1

I've trouble to get the usage of iCloud activated within the iWorks Suite on my iPad 1. In comparison to other devices (e.g. the iPad of a coworker) I'm missing the Documents & Data section within the iCloud settings on the iPad. Settings of Keynote, Pages and Numbers allow indiviual activation to use iCloud.
Activating it doesn't change it at all. Checking icloud.com I'll always see the suggestion to get Keynote et al for my iOS device. On all my macs (iMac and MacBook Pro I've activated iCloud and Documents and Data settings).
I've tried so far: delete the iCloud settings and recreate them with or without restart of the iPad; Restore iPad with latest backup using iTunes.
Maybe it's a problem with old resources from the beta phase?
Any idea or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Do you use your iPad with enterprise email? I have seen an alert today from our corporate IT department that states the following:
"As you may have heard, Apple has announced a series of enhancements related to the iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices. Among the highlights were the announcement of a new operating system, iOS 5, which will come with an integrated cloud-based storage and backup service known as iCloud.
To be able to support iOS 5, [ ] has sent a mandatory update to all firm-supported Apple devices. This update disables the data and documents option within the iCloud backup features."
So, that perhaps explains it!
Right now I only have my work iPad set up for iCloud. My next step is to set up my other iPad...will see if that enables iCloud/iWork to validate my iwork purchases

iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
The content should have been copied from the old computer to the new computer or at the very least from the backup of the old computer.

You can't, i'm sorry. What you're running into is the activation lock and it requires that the original owner release it with their apple ID before you can set it up.
