Hey guys, my iPad 4 just broke last time. when it goes on, then later it will turn off, and turn on again. And today my mom repairs the iPad then when i open it, it says Activate iPad. it says it was link j*****@yahoo.com ( It has 6 letters) but my user is j*******@yahoo.com (it had 8) and i can't even activate my ipad. When i enter my apple id and password, it says "Incorrect Apple ID "j*******@yahoo.com" cannot be used to unlock this iPad." and there. can anyone help me please?

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the previous user to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous user return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

Verizon iPad 2 wants previous owners password and email for 3G. Can't create a new account need help ASAP..

After a factory reset/ setting it up as a new iPad it still gives me the login screen. went to the genius bar no help, contacted Verizon no luck. I want to make a new Verizon 3G account but it won't get the registration form for me to fill out what Can I do?

You have to reset it to factory defaults. Then you can create your own accounts and so on :-)

Can't update ipod...need help asap!

Help!!! My computer was sent to get fixed and because some stuff was reformatted, I am unable to use certain programs....most importantly, I am unable to update my ipod which I need to do in the next day. Unfortunately, I will not be home where the software is for about three weeks. When I attempt to plug in my ipod to update the songs, the hardware isn't recognized. Is there anything I can do to get it working?
If desperate I may be able to use someone else's software but will that work or do I need to use the one that came with my particular ipod?

unfortunately this didn't solve my problem. from the little i know, i think the problem is that my entire hard drive was transferred while fixing my computer, and because they were temporarily relocated, that somehow tampered with all of my files, causing many to need to be reinstalled. my problem is that i do not have any of the software needed.

You can try to figure out which Apple ID/email address and/or password you used to activate it by going to http://iforgot.apple.com
If you can't, you'll need to contact Apple Account Security with your proof of purchase.

You can't, i'm sorry. What you're running into is the activation lock and it requires that the original owner release it with their apple ID before you can set it up.

i have ipad and iphone 3gs
both updated to newest software ... and both are stuck on stupid screen saying :
"we are sorry ,We are unable to complete your activation at this time."
This is a problem for me , and it seems that Apple does not get back to the customers . there for why does everyone buy these products if there no support!!!
i have diabled anti-virus - firewalls... and i still have this stupid problem... i tried on 2 different PC's both windows xp. both on different service providers... ( Telkom ADSL ) and (Neotel) both same problem ...

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

If you had iOS 7 BETA installed, just go to developer.apple.com and log in using your developer account. There are discussions about this issue. Otherwise... for non-developers, I'm afraid you're on your on. Use Google.

You are correct and I stand corrected, I picked the wrong choice of words. I meant manually manage. Don't want to confuse the OP.
And you can autosync all idevices with different content.
Plug it in, select the tabs across top and select which items to sync.
For music, create separate playlists for ewch user then select only those playlists to sync.
Add/delete from those playlists and sync to change what is on the iPad.
Again bad description on my part. This is exactly how I manage the content on my 4 devices. This is what I was trying to explain to the OP.
