I can't add a value to an attribute

Hi,
I've installed iPlanet Directory Server 5.2 on Windows 2003 to use with RSA Cleartrust. When a new user is created all off the attributes are shown in the advanced section but those without values don't have text boxes and don't highlight when selected and the Add Value button is grayed out. Values can't be added to attributes that don't already have values. Attributes that do have values can be edited. Attibutes can be added via the RSA Cleartrust admingui.
What am I missing to add values with the console to attributes that don't already have values?

Then you should try to update this attribute with an LDIF file by using Directory Manager.
Like this...
Create a script containing something like this...

Check you have any exits to do that, if there are no exits then you can Copy the program and change the code.
to add the extra value in list box, you just have to append the new line to the internal table which you are passing to VRM_SET_VALUES FM.
some thing like this..

How can i add the value inputted from the prompt box to the mysql database?

Hey guyz help me pls with this problem... im only new to javascript and also to the opensource like(php and mysql). I tried to use a prompt box and store the value into the textbox. But now I want to know how to insert/add the value inputted from a prompt box directly into the database if it is possible.

Java is not JavaScript, they've got almost nothing in common (apart from superficial syntax similarities and the first 4 letters of their names).

How can I add new values only to a column of a spreadsheet?

I have three "while loops" that are executed in parallel, two generate values and the third while loop write the values in a spreadsheet.
The run time of each while loop is different, to synchronize the three while loops I use a "Wait Until Next ms Multiple", but sometimes the same value is kept twice.
I think that a solution would be to add a "Write To Spreadsheet File" in the blocks that generate values, adding a new value in the wished column in each cycle, but I do not know like doing this.
I could keep the values in two arrays and add them in a same spreadsheet in different rows or columns, but I need save values in spreadsheet in each loop and not all values at the end of cycle.

I think your three loops solution is probably better than putting different kinds of functions into one loop. Keeping data acquisition/generation separate from file i/o is usually better because the OS can interfere with timing on the file operations.
If you pass the data to the file loop via queues, place the data into shift registers, and only write to the file when you have equal amounts of data from each generator you should be able to keep things synchronized. You can write larger or smaller amounts as necessary to keep pace with the generators. If one of the generators gets way ahead of the other, you have to decide how to deal with that issue.
Writing to the second column of a three column spreadsheet can be tricky. It involves keeping pointers to the portions written and not written, reading the entire file into memory and overwriting the cells where new data goes and rewriting the entire file. This can get very slow for large files. If the file and data structures are simple enough it might be feasible to read only a portion of the file and overwrite it with new data, but that approach has lots of risks to the data.
Wait until next ms multiple is only reliable if the wait interval is sufficiently longer than the execution time (including random OS delays) of each loop. Look at the synchronization functions such as notifiers to synchronize your loops.
If you still have problems, post a simplified version of your program and someone will probably be able to suggest solutions.

How Can I Add Time Values?

I am trying to track billable hours on Numbers 09. I have created a table with hours worked on a project, I an I would like to create a category with totals of the hours worked each day. However, when I categorize the Date column (or any text column) the SubTotals for the billable time is always "0".
If I simply try to SUM the billable time column, I get an error saying that "the formula's arguments can only include one time value"
Is there a way to get a total for billable hours, or do I have to use excel? No sarcasm intended, but a serious question.

It took some time to get my head around the data entry part of the Duration format, as when I changed the data I had entered before changing the format to Duration, is displayed as a full date and time value. It was not until I re-entered the values again AFTER setting the format to Duration, that the SUM function worked.
I still have a problem with Categories though., When I categorize by project, the hours worked column, although a Subtotal is generated, does not format to Duration "h m s".
i.e. Instead of 10h 57m as a total, 10.95 is displayed. Is there a way to set the format of the Subtotal to display in the Duration Format?? The format option in the inspector is grayed out for me.

While adding this value it gives error as
valid value-value exceeds the boundaries [66000-60]
This value is stored as itemname in oitm.How can I add this value in the dropdown ?

it depens on the letters because the font in comobox is usuallly not true type !
also be sure that you don't want to add the same value twice.

Reading out value of (MetaData)Attributes

for example: we created a metadata-attribute "invoice date", we uploaded a file and give "invoice date" the value '2006-07-07' and a few days later we wanna know which value "invoice date" has from that file.

How can I add form field value to the file name in save as dialog box

I do not want the form to be saved automatically, just want the form to auto populate the "file name" only.
A little background on the forms I want to use: My company has 70 retail outlets, I'll use one of our pdf forms called an "Incident Report" as an example. I would like for a store manager to be able to complete the form, then email the form to the main office (I already have javascript to add field values and form name to the email subject line), once the main office receives it, I want for them to be able to file the pdf electronically on our server. We have mutliple forms that we use so I do not want any of the forms to automatically save anywhere, (at this time anyway) I just want the office personnel to be able to click "save as" (or whatever they will need to click) and the form automatically add certain field values from the pdf they have received, of which will be different each time the form is sent to the office (Date, store #, employee name etc.) in addition to the name of the form in the "File name" of the "Save As" dialog box. The main office employees will decide into which server file the pdf should be saved.
I'm using Acrobat 8 professional, the stores and office personnel use Adobe reader.
One little note: We currently print and file a lot of paper on a daily bases, as soon as I can get this to work, we are going green.
Me and a lot of trees in this will really apprecitate any help you can give with this! :-)

You might want to take a look at the document "Developing Acrobat Applications Using JavaScript" (js_developer_guide.pdf) which is part of the Adobe Acrobat SDK, which can be downloaded here. Read the "Privileged versus non-privileged context" (p. 45ff.). You will find an example for "Executing privileged methods in a non-privileged context". Should be almost exactly what you are looking for.
Small Outline: For security reasons ("the user always has to know what's going on") you are not allowed to use the "Doc.saveAs"-method without the user permission (--> in a non-privileged context). In order to reach the goal of a privileged context you can use a trusted function. You do this by creating a JavaScript file (*.js) in either the Application-JavaScript-Folder (default location on Windows systems: "%ProgramFiles%\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Javascripts") or the User-JavaScript-Folder (default location on Windows systems: "%AppData%\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\JavaScripts"). Add the following content to the new file:

The developer guide actually wants you to add this content to the existing "config.js" file. I recommend creating a new file, since its easier to deploy in a network. Either way, every client/user who needs to be able to save documents this way, needs this JavaScript Code in his Application/User-JavaScript-Folder.

How can I add a blank value in a standard drop down list

Hello,
I have a requirement to add a blank value into the standard drop down list of for i.e. the search criteria
"created on" -> (values are: yesterday/today/last week etc).
The problem is, that this field has always the default value "yesterday" but our customer wants to have a blank field as default.
Can anybody provide me steps how can I add this blank value ?
