I can't add second router AirPort

I've a problem with adding a second router in a another floor. I've AirPort Extreme A1143 (802.11n 1.generation) connect to the internet in second floor of my house. It's working correctly.
I want to add AirPort Express A1392 in the first floor by ethernet cable. It's connected to the LAN In Extreme (base station), and into the WAN in Express. Express is factory configuration; light flash amber. I can't see express in Utility AirPort (Mac is at second floor, connected (wifi) to extreme.
I'd like to create one wifi network in my house with the same wifi name, password. Is it possible?

Yes it is.
Have you tested the Ethernet cable connection between the AirPort Extreme and the location of the AirPort Express?
If not, please temporarily connect the Ethernet cable to a laptop or other device and turn off the wireless function of the laptop. See if you can get a good Internet connection on the laptop when you test this way.
If you can, the Ethernet cable is working correctly.
If you cannot, then there is a problem with the Ethernet cable or something else and it will need to be fixed before you can proceed with the installation of the AirPort Express.
Please clarify on your results.
Also, please clarify if you have an iPhone or iPad for use in the installation of the Express.

I have a gigabit Airport Extreme router. I like using the Airport Utility to control my network. I want to convert a large number of wireless connections to wired ethernet devices, about 24. The reason is that I just get too many wireless dropouts, and I need a more reliable network. I am looking for the best way to design this. It seems like adding a gigabit Ethernet switch is the easiset and best way to accomplish this. My questions are:
1. How large of a gigabit switch can you add to the LAN port of an Airport Extreme: 24-port, 48-port?
2. How far down can you cascade switches? In other words, can I connect three 5-port switches (level 1 switches) to the three LAN ports on the Airport Extreme, and then connect more 5-port switches to the level 1 switches?
3. What are the performance implications for either design. Can you achieve gigabit performance with these designs?

I have a network with an Extreme base station, 3 Extreme wired extenders and 1 express wired extender - in the mix are four 24 port gigabit switches and two 8 port gigabit switches - so you can add as much as you want within the limits of the internal IP address range which is controling the number of devices on the network.

You can change the credit card registered with your iTunes account. You can't have two at once - how would they know which to charge? - and anyway there's nowhere to enter a second one.

Can't add second PC to Airport Extreme

I am trying to add a second PC to an existing network of one PC and an Airport Extreme. The new PC found the network and displays a solid signal. However, it then tells me I have "limited or no connectivity" and that the "network did not assign a network address to the computer." The Repair function says "unable to finish repair because renewing IP address cannot be completed." The firewall list allows an exception for the Airport. I've searched the forum and don't find anything specific to this problem. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you Duane. After a break for the holidays, here is what I found on the original computer: The box is checked at "Distribute IP addresses" and "Use 10.0.1.1/24 addressing" was selected. Under Access Control, the list is empty. "All clients are permitted on correctly entering the password." So, I found nothing to change.
I'm also now getting a message that I need a network key (I had not seen this earlier). Looking under Wireless Networks on the original computer, I see 8 bullets in the Network Key field. It is set for WEP in the data encryption field, so 8 bullets doesn't seem right (I would have expected 5 or 13), but it won't accept a change. In the Net Authorization field, "shared" is selected. No combination of probable 5 or 8 letter keys will let me get past this barrier. Any further ideas are appreciated.

Can't add second child to StackPane repeatedly

I have a StackPane array, which is filled up with two ImageViews. First ImageView is an unique picture, second ImageView is the same for every StackPane:

The problem is, that the second ImageView - topCard, is added only to first/last StackPane even I added it to every StackPane in cards.
- both add() methods return true, as well as isManaged() method.
- addAll(E...) doesn't work either even it returns true too.
- I checked the errorProperty for every Image and there's no problem with loading the images.
- both ImageViews do get added to StackPane inside the for loop, but there's only one ImageView in StackPane outside the for loop.
I hope it's some trivial issue that I just can't spot.

I can't add an older airport express to OS 10.7.5? Want to use for wireless printing and iTunes.

I'm using an Airport Extreme model A 1301 for my home's wireless network. I have three of the older Airport Express model A1084, which I was using for remote speakers for iTunes and for a wireless printer set up, but discontinued using them at some point. I currently have OS 10.7.5, and I could have sworn I was using that OS the last time I used the A1084s, but maybe I updated to it afterwards, I can't remember. At any rate, I've plugged one of the units in, look for it in Airport Utility, and get a message "this version of airPort Utility doesn't support this base station. Use airPort Utility 5.6 to configure or manage this base station. AirPort Utility 5.6 is available at AirPort Service and Support." I go there, download the program, install it, and get a message "The installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." Am I in a catch-22 here - am I not able to use the older A1084s because I need airPort Utility 5.6, but I can't use airPort Utility 5.6 because I have OS 10.7.5? Does this mean I may as well throw these older A1084s away?

If you have not already done so, I suggest that your start over on the AirPort Expess "from scratch" by performing a Factory Default Reset and then attempt to configure it to join the network again.
Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule FAQ
If you have an older Express, make sure that you are not trying to configure it to connect to the 5 GHz network, as it is unable to do so.
Assuming that the name of the wireless network, wireless security setting and password on the Express match up with the AirPort Extreme, the Express should "join" the network if it is working correctly.
If you are still having problems, all that you really can do is try the default reset a few more times. If still no luck, the Express....which is at least 5-6 years old or older, may likely need to be replaced with a new model.

I use two iPads and and iPodd Touch with one iTunes library and sync unique content to each device. You do not need to create a new iTunes library for the new iPad .... Assuming that you are using the same Apple ID on all of your devices.
When you connect any of your devices to iTuness on your computer, iTunes knows which device is which by the serial number and can recognize the devices that way. You can set you sync preferences any way that you want for every device that you sync to your iTunes library.
When your device is connected to your computer with iTunes running, click on the device name under the devices heading on the left. Then you can click on each tab in the iTunes window on the right ...apps, photos, music, books, etc....and select the content that you want to sync to that particular device.

VPN on a Time Capsule using a second router.

Ok, I fully realize that the Apple routers do not support VPN. However, I read here that some guy from Melbourne said that I can buy a second router and place it behind the time capsule and send all VPN traffic through it.
"From what I can see most of these services recommend 3rd party cheap end stuff. Go with that. That means you keep the TC as the main router. Put the vpn router behind it and run all the equipment that needs vpn access to connect to the vpn router."
So, if this is correct, I'm wondering exactly how this is set up. I use Time Warner's fiber and bought my own modem which does not have a router built in, and hence only has one Ethernet port which is where the time capsule is plugged in. Im also using Hide My A$$ VPN service. So, if I buy another router and plug it in behind the time capsule, this tells me that I would plug the new VPN router into an Ethernet port on the time capsule. Is this correct? If so, then wouldn't the VPN router be nullified by the Time capsule? I mean, when a service pings me, they will hit the time capsule before hitting the new VPN router, and hence see my true location wouldn't they?
I want to use the time capsule as my nat, and hence don't want to bridge it. Is it possible to do what I want to do?

Yes, but I would like to know why the TC as NAT is important to you... please realise that one particular feature, namely BTTM and ICloud maybe causing vpn to break.
I also do think it is easier to use a vpn router and bridge the TC behind it.

Yes, there is no need for expensive routers.. many 3rd party firmware will do a good job with fairly cheap hardware. Do take advice from the service you use though.. eg StrongVPN service recommends and has lots of details for setting up dd-wrt routers. It is much easier to use hardware of exact type that is recommended by a service.

Yes, correct.

No, the Time Capsule is totally invisible to the vpn tunnel.. which has the endpoint on the VPN router..
Please understand.. if the TC happened to have vpn end point.. it would still have the same IP address as given by your ISP as you have via the router behind it.
It is the VPN service that hides your address. To all the world your IP address is that given by the vpn service.. only the vpn service patches you to the internet and only they connect you. These sevices thus cover your local public IP with their own. You can use vpn service or proxy service or some DNS services to accomplish the same thing.
Port forwarding in the TC is the tricky bit.. and whether the particular firmware is going to break the vpn or not.
From a quick look at the website the vpn routers recommended are the same as for Strongvpn.. all have to be flashed over to dd-wrt.

I think if you are putting all traffic down the tunnel as this is suggesting, then it is pointless having the apple TC in NAT mode.. you are not going to be able to use it because every single item in your network will have to connect to the vpn.. assuming you are actually trying to hide all your traffic.

I have an Extreme Base Station connected to my Time Warner Cable Modem. It comes into my house in my office, which is over my garage, a separate structure in my backyard. The iMacs there are connected via Ethernet to the Apple Base Station. In my house, maybe 30 feet away, where I use two Macbook Pro's, iPhone 6, iPad 3 etc, all via Wireless, I have an Airport Express as an extender to amplify the signal because my house with it's lathe walls is a great shield. This works OK up to a point. The further away I get from the Airport Express, the fainter the signal gets.
Naturally, the farthest room away is my family room with a Smart TV, Apple TV, A/V receiver, DirecTV Cinema box, Playstation3 etc. I just added an Amazon FireStick TV via HDMI. It found my wireless network perfectly and joined. Problem is, it's buffering like crazy when I try to watch a movie and reporting "bandwidth too low". So I have a problem. I need to boost the signal one more time.
Can I add a second Airport Express to my existing network as an extender, which now consists of a Extreme BaseStation and one Airport Express.
If not, does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry, but no. Even if it was possible, the speed loss would be amazing, and would really hurt, not help the current network performance.
Probably not the answer that you want to hear, but the only way to get the same signal strength and speed from your office to a location in the home is to run an Ethernet cable between the two locations.
There is no loss of signal or speed through an Ethernet cable up to 330 feet, or 100 meters. Good old Ethernet cable. Nothing comes close to a wire in terms of performance.
I faced a similar problem, and while the initial outlay to the electrician was significant, it has been the best investment that I ever made in terms of improving network performance....far better than the "improvement" with any new product, or any new router or any new technology that might have been available.
If you absolutely cannot run the Ethernet cable, then a pair of Ethernet Over Powerline (EOP) adapters might be able to send the Ethernet signal over the existing power lines in your office and home.
The theory with EOP products is that you already have the wiring in place.....you just need the adapters. Unfortunately, things do not always work as well in practice as the theory might suggest.......having the signal hop several different circuits would be one major challenge.....whether the office and home are on the same master circuit would be a question as well.
Given your situation, I would not even consider trying EOP adapters unless the store agreed to take them back within 7-14 days if they don't work well for you.

Don't want to do that ... while the refrigerator talking to the dryer has had the interesting side effect of automatically tossing my salads, my washer now insists on feeding my clothes to the ice maker which makes for either shredded or frozen clothes depending on the setting. Yes. You can directly connect an 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) using an Ethernet cable. The AXn would then just need to be configured as a bridge to allow the D-Link to continue to provide both NAT & DHCP services for all network clients connected to either router.
In this configuration, the AXn would broadcast a wireless network for your wireless network clients to connect to.
