    Was your iPod associated with a different mac or pc previously is all. And was it backed up or sync'd on this mac with iTunes previously.

  • Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "Video 1"...

    "Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "Video 1" were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod."
    Never had this problem before. I just updated iTunes and there was no change. All videos are in .mov format. I've tried .mp4 as well with no change.
    I've deleted them from the library and tried putting them back in several times. Anyone have any help for me?

    Hi!
    I've been following the 5G iPod threads and playing around with video files for the past week while waiting for the iPod to arrive. It's now here. I somehow managed to rip a full-length DVD, demux the AC3 audio and convert it to AAC, put the movie back together, and load it into the iPod (don't ask... I don't think I could explain it...). However, the slideshow (with music) I made in iMovie (with input only from iPhoto and iTunes) which I "shared" to QuickTime (pro) using the expert settings and the default option to convert for iPod failed to load to the iPod!
    Hmmm... strange that using five, third-party programs/hacks got me a full length feature film, but my Apple programs with built-in support used in the default mode for iPod failed to convert a simple three-minute iMovie slideshow. I tried two of them, neither worked...

  • HT1535 how can I transfer videos from my itune library to my friend's ipod

    how can I transfer videos that I've made at home, and that I converted so that I could play them on my ipod, which are now in my Itunes library, to my friend's ipod, without erasing all the stuff on his ipod?

    Email the files to the friend to import to their iTunes library.
    Copy the files to a flash drive to be imported to the iTunes library on their computer.
    Burn the files to a CD/DVD.
    Any of a variety of options that in no way involve connecting your friends iPod to your computer.

  • Can I re-load my old iTunes library even after editing a new library?

    Hey everyone,
         So I moved all my music onto an external hard drive. After I did that I opened iTunes and it was blank. In order to put all my music back in iTunes I just clicked "add folder" then selected my entire music folder. After all 90gb loaded I checked and I realized that I had many errors in my music folder such as duplicated songs. I had fixed all these problems in my previous iTunes library (before I moved my music onto my new HDD). Is there a way I can add my old iTunes library to iTunes so it is all the same as it was before the folder moved? The only help I have found says not to edit your new library before loading the old one, which I didn't know to do. These are the only directions I have been able to find on the topic. Anyone with any idea how to solve this other than going through my entire library and deleting what I don't want please help!
    Thank you!

    I browsed around here and I found that if I hold shift while opening iTunes and it asks what library to load so my real question then is where is my "old" library that I want to load? The only library I can find is my current one.

  • Itunes needed to be reinstalled on my computer. I want my library but when I go to sync it says it's already synced with another itunes library do I want to erase and sync?  Do I?  Will everything be lost?

    Someone please help

    There isn't a seamless solution unless you fall asleep and wake up when computers have reached the Star Trek level of development.
    iTunes does not actively scan for additions to the media folder.  The only way a library knows something has been added its if that particular library did the adding.  If you add with one library and then start another using the same media folder it won't see the addition unless you also add it to that one.
    You could split your media storage with a single library, keeping some on the external and some on the internal.  If the external is not attached and you try to play a song iTunes will present you with a ! saying the link is broken, but if you quit iTunes, attach the drive and restart the links should fix themselves again.  There isn't a way to get one iTunes library to automatically update another except what might be possible with Home Sharing and I don't know if this extends to your particular application.  I believe it might also end up duplicating media like crazy.  I can't run Home Sharing so I can't test it to see exactly what is possible.  It may require you be running the libraries from different user accounts.
    You could search on the web for third party tools that might synchronize multiple libraries.

  • When I go to open iTunes it says the file is corrupt and I should reinstall it, what should I do

    I went to open iTunes on my PC and it said the copy of iTunes was corrupt and I should reinstall it.  What should I do?  and how does it become corrupt?  I opened it last weekend...please help

    Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
    Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
    Can you launch your iTunes now?

  • An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time

    I recently bought a MacBook Pro, and I figured it would be pretty simple to move my iPhone to sync with iTunes on the Mac from iTunes on my pc, afterall it is the same program and both are designed for the iPhone.
    I have been successful in getting the Contacts and Calendar to sync, but the Music, Applications, Video and a few other things give me this message when I check the sync box:
    "The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase the iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
    Obviously, I don't want to erase everything. Actually, I don't care about Music, Videos, Podcasts or Ringtones as I don't have any, but I do care about Photos and Applications. Actually Photos I can reload too, but I don't want to loose the apps I have purchased with the iTunes App Store.
    I even tried going back to the PC and unchecking the Sync boxes on it, hoping this might disassociate it from the phone, but now even on that PC I get the same message.
    How do I disconnect phone from the old iTunes and be able to sync it to the new iTunes? This should be simple right?

    I made an appointment with a Mac Genius and I will say that while it was better than getting to talk to India on a poor quality phone call it was just about as helpful. Sure she was cute and friendly, but I left without my issue resolved and was surprised that I didn't even get a followup from anyone asking about my experience (hence my venting here)
    Anyway, I found a solution for my issue here: http://tinyfish.net/2008/07/18/how-to-sync-iphone-with-multiple-computers/
    This is a real solution to the issue, and has the benefit that I can do this to as many machines as I need and sync at any of them instead of just one. Hopefully, Apple doesn't delete my response since it truly is the answer to the problem and others might be looking for the same solution.

  • HT2729 How do I transfer a VCL video into my iTunes library

    How do I transfer a VCL video into my iTunes library

    I had the same problem. I found the solution by accident.
    Open the Movie mp4 in Quick Time 10. There is a share button (or click share on the menu) and select iTunes. It will take awhile for the file to be imported into iTunes.

  • How do I transfer my iTunes library from an old, slow pc laptop to a newer faster pc laptop? Do I have to take a copy of my iTunes library on the hard drive of the old(er) pc laptop and load it onto the hard drive of my new(er) pc laptop?

    How do I transfer my iTunes library from an old, slow pc laptop to a new(er), faster pc laptop? Do I have to make a copy of the iTunes library on the old pc laptop and re-install it on the new(er) pc laptop? Is it something that can de done using the actual iPod itself?

    This is the method I would normally recommend:
    Backup with this User Tip, restore the library to the new computer using the same tool, keep the backup up-to-date in future. Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer need to access protected content on it.
    You can use your iPod classic to move your library to a new computer but if you don't already have a backup copy of the library (and your other important data) now is the time to think about it.

  • HT1751 i bought a new, larger external hard drive. copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive. iTunes will not start or run unless old hard drive plugged in.??

    I bought a new, larger external hard drive. I have my iTunes library on the external drive instead of C: drive, Using Windows 7.
    I copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive.
    iTunes will not start or run unless the old hard drive is plugged in.
    If I disconnect the old drive iTunes shuts down.
    Any ideas. ??

    Hello kskip,
    Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on.  It sounds like you have setup iTunes to save new content to your new external hard drive in iTunes>Preferences, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the new external drive.  You have one last step to take to have iTunes point to your new external hard drive rather than your old one:
    Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
    If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
    If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
    You should see the following screen:
    Additional information
    If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
    Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.

  • How do I Play videos from external hard drive on Apple TV2?  Can I just move the iTunes Library to the External Hard Drive?

    I have several HD videos stored on an external hard drive and would like to bring them into iTunes and play them via iTunes on my Apple TV2, but I am not sure how to go about it.  I don't want to store the movies on my iMac hard drive because it would eat up to much space...so do I just move the iTunes Library to the external hard drive?  And, if so...will the Apple TV2 find the iTunes Library on the external hard drive?  Thanks for any help anyone can suggest.

    iTunes content on an external drive isn't a problem.
    The simplest method is to just move your library to an external drive.
    If you wanted to keep just movies on an external drive, that's a little more difficult. You'd need to put the movies where you want them to reside on the external drive and add drag and drop them onto iTunes while holding down the option key. Obviously any movies already in iTunes would need moving from their current location and removing from iTunes first.

  • Ipad mini remote app will connect to my itunes library and apple tv but can't play content from itunes library on the apple tv

    What I am trying to do is very simple, and I am sure I have done it before.
    I have an Apple TV (2nd Gen) connected to Wifi Network (Airport Extreme 802.11n) I want to stream content from the itunes library on my macbook pro over the wifi network to the Apple TV. This works no problem, home sharing is set up and I can see the itunes library under 'Computer' on the Apple TV interface. I can use the Apple Remote to scroll through and play content from my itunes. Works no problem.
    Now I want to use the remote app on my ipad mini to control the apple tv. Using up to date app (Version 3.01) Again, everything looks like it should work. I have turned on Home Sharing on the remote app settings. It works fine and both my itunes library and Apple TV show up on the interface. I can touch the itunes icon and control the itunes on my computer and play music and video on my computer screen.
    Now when I touch the apple tv icon I can't see my itunes library content to play on the apple tv. I see the below image. If I tap on the icon in the bottom left it takes me back to the screen in the first image. What is the strangest thing is that I can control the apple tv using the gestures interface! This isn't what I want though and I want to be able to see the itunes library on the screen of the ipad and play it on the apple tv. You can see in the video on this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvEpgcE9KCs). This is what I am trying to do and I just don't understand why I don't get the screen seen at 1:25 in the video. Instead I get the screen seen in the below image.

    OK, Problem solved. Software on Apple TV was VERY outdated. It had been sitting in the box for over a year and needed an update. Problem solved!

    My daughter disabled my Ipad. Now it says to connect to Itunes and does not even allow me to put in a code. I have many photos and videos saved on my Ipad I wish not to erase. When you have important videos/photos on your iPad, you should backup frequently.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
