I can't anymore locate one of my friends on find my friends app

Since last friday, I can't anymore locate one of my friends on find my friends app. All my other friends can be located.
I asked him if he turned the hide from followers tag on. He told me he didn't. He told me as well he didn't turn the location off.
But he just told me that when he opens the find my friend app it opens and closes immediately.
How is it possible to fix this problem?

I personally would suggest to delete and re-download the app from the app store.

    If you activated the Find My iPhone service (in Settings>icloud), and if the device's batteries still have a charge, the device is not turned off and has not been reset and is connected to wifi, then you can try to track it.  Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page.  On a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app (get it for free at the itunes app store) and log into the icloud account.  Note:  The Find My iPhone **app** does not turn on the service, you can only do that through Settings>icloud.
    If the device is listed as "offline", then one of the requirements listed above is not met (like being connected to wifi, or if the device was stolen and the thief reset it).

    it has worked fine no problems till i updated it i tried restoring itwith my old backup but it doesnt move the ios back so it just keeps on craching when i try to unlock it

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    You're going to want to force it in recover mode thent o restore the device, unplug it from the computer, hold down the home button replug it back in intil you see the Itunes symbol with an arrow pointing towards it

    Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
    Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

    Download the Find My iPhone app from the App Store to your iPhone.
    Then, launch the app, log in with the Apple ID & password used for your iPad.
    Note that unless you had enabled the FMiP function on the iPad under Settings > iCloud, you will not be able to track the device.

    Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
    The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
    The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

    Your husband needs to register his iPhone with the Find My iPhone service. If he doesn't have a MobileMe account, he needs to register his iPhone with his Apple ID.

    The Find My iPhone app on my iPhone requires logging in with the Apple ID used to register an iPad or iPhone with the service. If the Apple ID has more than one device registered, then both should turn up.

    Had iPad 2 stolen in a house break in. Did not have the handy app on it. Sense would say that AT&T, the wireless provider, could still find it if it's switched on. Any ideas?

  • Can no longer copy and paste filenames from the finder to other Apps?

    Did Leopard remove the ability to copy a file or folder name in the finder, and then paste that into a text editor?
    I have a need to copy file and folder names from the finder, then paste those names into BBEdit. I've been doing this for years. Now with Leopard, I can copy the file or folder names, and even see them in the clipboard of the Finder. But when I try to paste them into BBEdit, TextEdit, Word, Pages... nothing happens. And Paste is grayed out in the target application. As if I had never copied the item in the first place.
    Can anyone else copy filenames in the finder? Or do I have a system-specific problem?

    Never mind. Apparently there was something going wrong with the Finder. I ran Onyx, and things are back to normal now. I was concerned because I actually saw similar but not identical behavior on two Leopard machines. Running Onyx on the 2nd one now.

    The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
    If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
    If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.
    There is NO WAY to report any lost/stolen product to Apple.

    Just to add that everything worked just find before i updated the app,after the update i wasnt able to locate my device

    Try force closing the Find My iPhone app by double tapping the home button, locating Find My iPhone in the list at the bottom, tapping and holding it until it wiggles, tap to close it, then tap the home button again.

    Do you have a backup. If so you should be able to restore it from that. Otherwise you can reinstall OS X. See Carolyn's post in I accidentally deleted iBooks on my Macbook Pro (late 2011) running on OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite. Will iBooks be reinstalled if I install the next OS X major update once it is out?

    There is no chance at all that you can activate the iPad without the previous user's Apple ID and password. That is the feature of iOS 7 Activation Lock.
    Every time I read one of these post, I can't help but think that the user asking about this (in this case - you) was duped into purchasing a stolen device. If the seller was legit, they would have erased the device completely before they sold it.
