I can't believe it!
Such a beautiful piece of machinery, this dual quad core 3 gz Mac Pro 8800GT. And my gosh, what elegant interfaces and storage organization. And the speed? Well, let me tell YOU, it is fast. Makes my old Dell workstation 470 raid seem (and sound) like an old used jackhammer.
But, and this is not a small but, the human interface, ie, mouse interface, is nothing but pathetic. I'm using a 30" Apple Cinema display next to a dell 21" and getting the mouse around at the highest speed settings is a future guarantee of a wrist operation. Now why they would go to the trouble of doing all of this incredible design work and then leave it to an outside source (Steer Mouse) to provide the most basic ingredient of human inter-operability with their machine is nothing short of a travesty in my insignificant opinion. And Logitech doesn't provide any drivers for OSX with the 518mx gaming mouse I use to design with (lotsa buttons - fast tracking). Acceleration is killing me.
Any suggestions? (aside from dumping OSX and loading XP in it's stead)

Then you are not explaining your problem clearly. From your original post, we assume that you either have a problem with the comfort of the size and shape of Apple's mouse or your monitor's too big and you need your mouse cursor to move faster. We gave you good suggestions for both issues.

Did you try booting off your Install disk holding the c key down. From here you can get to the drop down menu just a few clicks in (you are not going to install) and run the Disk Utility>Repair Disk. See if it will let you do this.

Sorry but the only help you have is the local police.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

why does itunes not let you sync both ways from your camera roll to your computer or from your photo albums to your computer. you mean the only way to get a photo off my Iphone is to e-mail it?

I definitely agree that there should be some sort of option to synchronize your Camera Roll photos through iTunes. This, for one, would eliminate the issue of losing your photos when being forced to restore your iPhone, see my post below:

i need your help,my ipod touch is very silent, by my standards..i mean you cant watch a movie in a bus, **** you cant listen to music sometimes either...if i turn max the volume still its not valid for all recordings...and..on max volume, you get distortions, so its not that quality either, although you hear some mp3`s well. My nano has waaaay better and louder sound, that is not what i expected when i purchased this touch , i was thinking of an upgrade, but i got a downgrade. My hearing is as good as anybodys, but i tested my friends opinions on that as well, and they all complained regarding volume. Is there anything i can do to make it louder, program, flash, firmware...anything....cos its of no use to me now as it is. Please ...i like it...but i will chuck it in a river:), if i cant resolve this prob.

Yes, thank you, i realised that headphones with noise canceling are something i must get....but, i cant belive that the same headphones with touch and nano produce such dramatic different experience...i can hardly belive that nano has better what..sound procesor, amplifier than touch...it shouldent be that way.
i am thinking it must have something to do with ..say latest regulations regarding volume imput in some countries or what, and i thought that it must be the program that cansels it..or so..since i have wireless on this thing.

Ugh. help me if you can! Proplem w/ front-row. no music on slideshow

forgive me if this is a small problem that I should be able to resolve on my own.
When using Front Row to access a slideshow, the music that I added to the show doesn't play! Yet, when I launch the show from iPhoto, it plays. This happens on only one particular slideshow. ..I did delete the "plist" for iPhoto, but this didn't fix it (this was a sort of "fix all" tip that I found using the help menu.)
Any suggestions? Front Row is pretty cool - I'd hate to not be able to use it.

Can't load my own pages with .htaccess protection

It's very strange.
First time I noticed that problem was on a project page who I created. The page is not for the public access, so I decide to protect it simply with an htaccess file and it works without any problems for a long time in Safari until that point who I make a little mistake by typing the username or password and let Safari safe this wrong information. Since them I was not longer able to reach the page with Safari, but still with other browsers.
So I can life with that, because it's not an importend page who I visit each day.
But now I have a nother page who deliver the same problem. The logininfos are safed by Safari and no longer access since two days now. Before it works perfect.
The only real change who I do was to fix the permissions of a folder inside the Safari resources. The "German.lproj" folder. I do this, because I was not able to open the private settings in Safari. Each time who I click in the settings on the private option, Safari crashes. Anyway, since I add my profile to the permissions Safari works fine.
I can't belive that this change is the source for the problem. I try to delete all related pagestuff in my keychane of OS X Snow Leo (10.6.8), repair the keychane and repair the permissions over the Disc Utility. I also remove my complete Safari profile in the Library to reset Safari, delete the preferences, delete Safari with Clean App and reinstall it, but still can't access my pages with a htaccess protection.
All other pages working without any problem. All the pages are still available with other browsers.
Anyone an idea what I can try next?

OK, after a long time I solved my problem with the htacces and password protected pages.
But let me explain a bit more, why it need so much time.
After I post here at the board, I solved the problem over a simple resetting of Safari over the menu. After I do that, I got the login-window back.
But for some strange reason I got the problem back after a longer time. And now I got the idea to look a bit deeper, what can happen. I open my Console from OS X and take a view on "All announcements". Now I hit enter in Safari to open the page who have a htaccess protection and I got some error results. On of them was this here:

This message contain some german infos, so let me translate the last part.
The file „AuthenticationPanel.nib“ can't be open, because you have not the right permissions.
This error message looks like the big goal for me. I open this file-directory and mark the "German.lproj" folder to open the information panel for this folder. Now I go to the permission area, hit the "plus" button and add my profile / user to the permissions with a read and wrote permission. My new settings I transfer to all subfolders.
Now the final test in Safari. I open the URL again and, tadaaaa, it works very well now.
This is the same solution who I do before (see my first text on this posting) for the german.lproj folder. It looks like that Apples software like the Disc-Utility ignore the german folders around fixing the permissions or after an update or if you have trouble with the permissions.
Anyway... This two manual fixings bring my access back and I'm now happy :-)

How can I get music from iTunes of US in Mexico?

I like Rock, Blues, Jazz and all this kind of music. But iTunes in Mexico has limited range of this artists, I mean, there's no all discography (albums), and I would like to download all of them.
Is there some way to create a US session in Mexio of iTunes or something like that to get that music?

Need help deciding if the invalid Launch Agents/Daemon could be causing an issue with my MBP.
These are listed below but I do not see them in my Library/Launch Agents folder nor do I even see a Launch Daemon Folder in Librarys?
My biggest issue I am having is that my Mail seems to suck my memory so much that the app is paused and I am forced to quit apps.
This only started after updating to Yosemite.

Thnk my ipod got wet while workingout "it snt turning on Wht can I do?

I forgot to turn on the Ipod when I started working out ( all because a friend) It was in my waist, then when I desided tu use it, It just didn't do anything, My frien told me that it had got wet and I can't belive I'm going to loose my Ipod. I put it on the sun to see if it gets dry, and works again. But PLEASE! somebody say something!

If your iPod has gotten wet, all you can really do is let it dry out completely - I'd leave it in a warm spot for two weeks or so, and hope for the best. Don't try to turn it on or charge it during this time - you may do more damage.

Yes Pages 5 is very different and has many features and templates missing.
You do not install fonts in Pages, you install them in the System. Purchase/Download them and double click on them to install.
The manual for Pages 5 is online. Click on the link under the Help menu.

Can't find keyboard

When I go to set up a new device and search for my Apple BlueTooth keyboard it says an error occurred while performing the search. The keyboard works flawlessly on another computer running 10.3 (this is running 10.4). I tried setting up my computer as discoverable and it doesn't find that either.
Anyone have thoughts?

Very different. Seems your problem was your keyboard, but my keyboard works fine in 10.3, but not on my computer running 10.4, so there's nothing wrong with the keyboard. Seems to be yet another major bug in OS X. I can't belive Apple would come out with an OS that doesn't work with BlueTooth! I guess I have to pay for 10.5 (once that comes out) if I want to be able to use my BlueTooth devices, and is there even any guarantee 10.5 will work?

I've had a rendered useless second screen sitting on my desk for the last 2 months waiting for the 10.7.2 update to fix this bug... and nothing??
This problem has completely ruined my workflow as a photographer because I use to use the left hand screen to retouch on at 100%. Now its pratically useless because it can't be calibrated.
When you open display preferences, and click the colour tab, if you click the profiles on the right screen, it changes the right screens colour. If you click the left screens profiles, it changes the right screens profile, and does nothing to the left.
I also calibrate my screens with Spyder3 Elite, but I've updated the software to 4.0.3 Beta which is suppose to be Lion friendly, which leads me to belive this bug is still a result of Lion.
I can't belive that Apple, whos software is heavily used by photographers, designers and retouchers to work on, hasn't addressed this bug in 3 updates??
My workstation is now screwed, as nothing is setup to use the right screen for viewing other then my photoshop toolbars etc.
Or is this one of Apples latest "we don't think you need this" features they've installed?
I'm well and truely over it.

Well, I was wrong. I decided to look again, and this time I managed to find the WD software, and removing it does seem to have fixed the backup problem for me.
