There's newer firmware available from Samsung for that drive. (At least Rev SB01.)
This is a custom/home-built PC? If so, head directly to Samsung's support pages and download the newer firmware. Can you burn without the 2131 with the newer firmware in place?

Help! i upgraded my itunes to 7.0.2 and I can't burn my mp3's?????

I am having the same problem like many other posts as to burning mp3's on the latest version of itunes.
my itunes was working fine till i downloaded the latest version and i tried to burn some songs that i even downloaded from itunes. i am having 2 major problems:
(1) when i try to burn a playlist that i purchased from itunes it starts off like it's going to intitalize the burn then a warning pops up stating that 'none of the files can be burned to mp3 cd' then i click on the arrow to see the reason why i can't burn and it states 'itunes store files cannot be burned to an mp3 cd'. this has never happened before i have downloaded music from itunes before and never had this problem.
(2)the second problem i am having is the songs that my itunes will allow me to burn ( mostly transfered from my personal cd's and other downloads) burn in the usual manner but the don't play on my cd player....at all. i am using the correct cd's and my stereo is playing other burned cd's fine. the stereo is not old and i don't have any problem burning other files to cd. i tried everything...i even bought new blank cd's and i'm still having the problem. what is it? and how can i fix it.
please help if anyone has any advice!!!!

No version of iTunes has ever allowed you to burn songs from the iTunes Store to MP3 CD.
I think you need to change your burning setting in Preferences > Advanced > Burning to Audio CD.

My old computer, and external that I had everything backed up on broke. Majority of my music I got from burning CD's that I no longer have. How can I get all my music on my iPod onto my new iTunes?

I have songs in my iTunes library that I burned from CD's. They play in iTunes and will sync with my iPad. They play fine on the iPad. However, the songs will not sync to my iPhone 4S. There are now exclamation points next to songs (can't find source).

KiwiLouisa - I had the same problem. I was eventually able to distribute my content that was "Not eligible for iCloud" to my iPhone by switching off ITunes Match in both the ITunes app/machine that hosts my library (my Macbook Pro, in this case) as well as on the device to which I wished to distribute my content (my iPhone 6+). This opened up the option for my device iTunes Music settings for selecting "Entire Music Library".
After I successfully transferred *ALL* my music and music videos via iTunes sync, I then again switched on ITunes Match in iTunes on my Macbook and on my iPhone.
This does not change the iCloud status, but at least I have the content on my iPhone.

You can't burn discs remotely, you can only read data discs remotely (i.e. you cannot play movie DVDs either).
Either copy the files to the remote computer or get an external drive.

WMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. Also, you mentioned that you have been successful burning a CD with the Windows OS. Make sure that you have closed all software programs that can access the CD burner so that there isn't a conflict for the drive. Sometimes chaning the burn speed from "maximum" to 8x can also help in this situation.

Why can't I burn a CD from iTunes.

My iTunes on my macbook pro is not allowing me to burn a CD. It begins the process then stops and gives me an "unknown error" message (-3). I thought I had accomplished it by ignoring the "burn playlist to CD" command and instead dragging the songs to the disk. They seemed to burn and played fine on my computer, but the disk only plays a high pitched buzz when I put it in my stereo. Have upgraded to Yosemite on the mac and to iTunes Version 12.0.1.26. Anything I can do to fix it without wiping out my music library?

BTW have tried two kinds of disks, one kind of which I have a burned playlist from last year so I don't think it is the disks.

The 2131 usually indicates firmware needs to be updated on a drive.
Head to your drivers and downloads page for your latitude at Dell, and check for updates to your firmware for your optical drives. If you're behind and you update, does that clear up the 2131?

I can not burn CD's with my Itunes anymore. It tells me I am missing CD burner and to re download ITunes. I have done that and it stills does not work. Every time I try, Disc Recorder not found keeps coming up! Please someone help me!!!

Also when I open itunes it gives me a warning and says "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importingand burning cd's and dvds are missing. Please reinstall itunes."
With that one let's first try a reboot and repair.
Reboot the PC (very important), and the do a *repair install* of iTunes.
Go to your "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Does iTunes launch without the error message now?
If no luck there, try checking for a device filter conflict in your registry:

How can I get Itunes 7 to burn to my external La Cie burner, and not my internal Pioneer burner, which is behaving unreliably?

Is there a way to reset the default CD burner? I have an internal pioneer burner the DVR105, and an external firewire La Cie burner. The La Cie burner is much newer and will burn properly. However, itunes 7 is trying to burn to the internal DVR105 only, and it keeps giving me errors.
How can I get Itunes to burn to the healthy la Cie? I know my Toast software recognizes it...I have burned DVDs to the La Cie many times before in Toast. Itunes offers me no option to select which burner to use, unlike Toast. My OS is Panther.

Sorry, Itunes is not giving me that dialog. Lemme tell you, it did give me a related dialog earlier today when my La Cie was not connected. Apparently it defaulted back to the Pioneer at that time. I have since reconnected the La Cie, and the system is seeing it, however Itunes won't offer me the option to burn to the La Cie. It just burns to the Pioneer, then gives me an error saying it can't burn the CD.

I'm having a similar issue, I choose to burn a playlist in iTunes, insert a disc and either get a message saying that I need to try another brand of cd, or the burn process starts then finishes immediately.
Ive tried several major name brands of cd-r.
Sometimes the disc is not even recognised. The drives spins up slowly then stops 3 times, then spits out the disc.
This happened on a previous version of OSX but had been working great since snow leopard. (now on Lion)
Any help greatly appreciated.

This has worked for many folks according to the feedback I have gotten:
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

How do i burn my itunes library onto a cd so that it can be played in a car

You can burn a cd for personal use, by making a playlist, then go to File>Burn Playlist
Choose Audio Cd.
Distributing music to others is not legal. You can burn cds for personal use.
