I can't burn a disc from Itunes without getting error 4280 repeatedly.

I can't burn a disc from Itunes without getting error 4280 repeatedly. I was just able to burn a CD and now can't burn another. Any thoughts? I know my CD burner works as I just made a disc. I have tried changing file type from Audio to MP3 with no luck. Thanks for trying to help me.

Hello Sonni,
It sounds like you are unable to burn a disc with iTunes due to this error code. I would first use the following article to check issues with the type of disc drive:

  • I can't burn a disc from iTunes download....error 2131

error message 2131 stops me from burning a disc from my recent iTunes download.  How can I get around this or fix this ......Windows XP.

The 2131 is usually related to out-of-date firmware on certain types of DVD/CD drives. But we'd better doublecheck that.
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • Can't burn a disc from itunes.

I am trying to copy an album I have bought, for use in my car but get the message ' Burner software missing'
I have done all updates but can't work out what to do next.

Kathy, to answer that question we would need to know more about your hardware and software (processor, MacOS Version)- but perhaps the problem is that you are trying to burn on a CD that is not compatible with your internal drive or are using an external burner without the proper driver installed.
If you are using your internal drive, then check the kind of CDs you are using and try a different brand.
If you are using an external burner, you probably need to reinstall or upgrade the driver software.
To find out, which CDs you can burn with your internal CD/DVD drive click on the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen and open the "About" panel:
In the About-panel click "More Info" and (in Lion) click: "System Report "and inspect the Hardware details of your Mac. In the "Hardware" section of the System Report look for "Disk Burning" and you will know what kind of CDs (-R, -RW)you need to buy to be able to burn them.

  • I have windows 8 and when i try to burn a disc from itunes, it says error 4310. how do i fix this?

    i need help!

A 1G iPod Touch cannot be upgraded past iOS 3.1.3.  So if an app you have downloaded in iTunes requires a later version of iOS than 3.1.3, I'm afraid you won't be able to sync or use that app on your device unless you upgrade to a newer device that supports a later version of iOS.

  • Following new motherboard and cd/dvd reconnection, when i try to burn a disc from itunes I now get the message "The Registry settings used by itune drivers for importing and burning CD's

Basically we had a new motherboard fitted, we then found our CD/DVD drive had not been reconnected.  After this has been done, when we try to burn a cd from itunes, we get the following message:-
The Registry settings used by itune drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing.  Reinstall Itunes.
I've removed and reinstalled itunes a few times now and we still have the same issue.  HELP please.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try changing the song format from AAC to MP3 (MPEG).
    1. Go to iTunes preferences ---> General ---> Import Settings--->Import Using: MP3 Encoder.
    2. Highlight all of the songs you want to burn. Once all are highlighted, go up to Advanced tab and click "Create mp3 version". This will create mp3 versions of each of the highlighted songs. This DOESN'T override the current AAC version, it creates a new version, which is directly beneath the AAC version (at least for me).
    3. Try burning just the MP3 versions onto a disc. When prompted as to what kind of disc you are burning, make sure you change it from Audio to MP3. I burned my a 2X speed.
I hope this helps. I'm replying because I was on this site because I JUST had this issue and fixed it the same way. So, it worked for me, and I hope it works for you. Good luck, mate.

  • Since I have iCloud enabled and have backed up to the "cloud," can I delete all apps from iTunes without them being deleted from my iPod?

Ok, so I have iCoud enabled on my iPod Touch, and I want to delete all my apps from iTunes without them deleting from my iPod, but iTunes says this:
Please tell me if this is possible. Thanks!
P.S.- When I get my iPhone next month, will all apps and "stuff" be there if I delete all the apps from iTunes and I turn off atomatic downloads to?

No.  The iCloud storage feature is only for mobile devices.  If you need more space get an external HD formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and drag your  iPhoto Library to it.  Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the library on the EHD to open.  Once you've confirmed that the library is OK and working properly you can delete the library from your boot driver.
However, if you don't have a backup strategy in place you should consider doing so as soon as possible.  A second EHD that's about 2X the size of your boot and first EHD is needed so you can use Time Machine to make hourly backups.  Remember there's only 2 type of hard drives:  1 - those that have crashed and 2 - those that will.
