I can't charge my DM1-4110et (plugged in, not charging)

Hi,
I just bought a dm1-4110et 1 weeks ago. My battery not working properly since first day.
Details about my problem;
My battery can't charge when notebook working. If I plugged in, Windows says "plugged in, not charging". I've tried ACPI trick and don't work. Led lighting white.
When I turn off pc, disconnect ac adapter & batery and reconnect them, notebook start charging and led ligting orange. But; if I turn notebook on, led turns white.
I've tried bios update, acpi trick, calibrating.. don't work. Probably I need to go service.
Any ideas?

Sorry, here is what i did
1.  Turnn laptop off, remoove battery, reinsert battery, plug the Charger, Charging starts (Orange light)
But as soon as I start laptop, charging stops.
2. To keep the charging while using laptop, download and install HP Power Manager, during installation you will see laptop is charging again. Solved
3. When you restart your laptop, same not charging occurs. To solve this just go into where HP Power Manager is installed, default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Power Manager, select SCHEME.BAT, you will CHARGING. Place scheme.bat shortcut to desktop, and next time just use the short cut

  • Dm1-4175 Plugged in, Not Charging

I have a HP dm1-4175. The "plugged in, not charging" problem is affecting it. This is not the first time this has happened. The last time it was fixed after an update, so I assumed it would not happen again. But some more updates were installed yesterday I think, and now the problem has happened again. Anything I can do?
    Thanks.

I think I've found a way around it. I downloaded a previous version of the bios and installed that (over the newer version). Then my laptop tells me it needs to update since it's not at the newest version anymore. I let it update itself normally again (always plugged in, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference). This has always sorted my problem. Time-consuming though.
It's still annoying that it happens every time though, I'm still waiting on a proper answer to fix it for ever.

  • A135-S4527 Battery plugged in, not charging

There are 1000s of posts on the net but no solution is working. I'm summarizing the problem for those who are already frustrated by seeing solutions in the following order and did not work, so please do not provide any solution mentioned below 1. charger/cord/plug/outlet not working 2. battery dated non working 3. battery contacts unclean 4. restart / push power switch for 30 secs etc There are many where any of the above doesn't work as permanent solution. Sometimes it seems as working but it doesnt last for longer. Now stating the problem of mine specifically My battery was gone. I knew that when this started. The issue was, even if the AC Adapter is connected and the battery is ON and detected, it would always say x% remaining (Plugged in, not charging) - where x is < 100% . This message is so frustrating (even now I'm seeing this and I need to post before the battery gets discharged) Why would a AC Adapter not charge when it is connected and battery is charged less than 100%? Even if lets say a battery pack is not holding enough charge, it should attempt to continuously charge if the charge is less than 100% This has started when I upgraded the laptop Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 to Win 7. I've replaced the battery with a new one and only thing I can charge the battery is shut down and keep the laptop with battery connected with AC Adapter. Since last few days even the red charging LED has stopped showing up. I've found that the problem is related to "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method battery" Have perfomed all sorts of instructions as given but none works Funniest part is when this message is on and battery is not charging while AC Adapter is connected, it is still drawing power off the battery as the % goes down and it simply knocks off when battery is fully discharged, completely ignoring that the AC Adapter is connected (Yes, it is connected as you can see the icon with the pin) I'd stop here for some advise before this goes off again. Thank you so much for your attention

This method did not work for me.  I found a Youtube video that shows 12 steps to follow.  It worked.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx62t6qZ34U

  • Lenovo G700 Plugged In Not Charging

My Lenovo G700, which is a week old, is saying that it is "plugged in, not charging". It was working fine until last night when I closed the lid to put it into sleep mode for the first time. I have checked that it is set to maximum battery life and it is still not working. It's stuck on 98%. I am severely disappointed that something like this has happened a week into having my first Lenovo. I hope someone can help me rectify this problem.

    hi Zadeth,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    Can you try to:
    1. Turn off the machine and remove the AC adapter and battery
    2. Hold the power button for 10secs then plug the AC adapter back in.
    3. Turn the computer ON and when it gets to Windows, slide the battery back in place and observe the charge.
Alternatively, try to use the battery charge until it asks you to plug the AC adapter and observe if the charge goes all the way to 100%.
    Let me know your findings

  • G560 64-bit Windows 7 : Plugged in ,Not Charging

    Hi,
I'm facing a problem with my Lenovo G560 (64-bit Windows 7 and i3 ). I'm not able to power on my laptop without connecting to the power outlet. Once the Windows started the battery icon shows 100%(Plugged in , not charging). If I remove it from the power it is getting shutdown immediately. Will it be a battery problem ? Any OS update might not have compatible with the hardware or drivers ?
Can any one please suggest a solution for this problem?
    Thanks in Advance !
    Regards,
    Aswathy

    Hi
    Welcome to community
Since you are not getting any backup  from the battery and you are able to use the system  when Ac adaptor is connected
Please remove your battery from the system , then reconnect it back again . Now connect AC adaptor
    Also try updating the Bios
    http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/au/en/DriversDownLoads/Drivers_Show_3840.html
You may receive an error while updating battery is not detected
    Hope This Helps
    Cheers!!!

  • Just recently receiving/noticing a "plugged in, not charging" alert for my DV7 Pavillion!! FIX???

HP Pavillion DV7-1428CA; Vista Home Premium; Current Power Plan icon in system tray now shows alert: "plugged in, not charging"!!
What can I do to resolve this issue??  BTW, no significant changes to my system other than AV updates etc,
    Thanks.

Since Battery check indicates a good battery, your hardware is working fine.
It sounds like it may be Windows that is confused.
I found the following thread.   Give it a try.

  • V570 plugged in not charging message

I have my laptop v570 plugged in but i'm getting a plugged in not charging message i have it set to best battery health it's at 71% and not charging

    hi la321,
thanks for using Lenovo Community forums!
Best battery health setting will actually stop the charging to a specific point. and that is the message that will show up.
Can you try changing to Maximum battery life and restart the system see if it would still say that battery message.
    thanks

  • Plugged in, Not Charging MSI GX720

I just bought my MSI GX720 less then a month ago, and just yesterday I was typing up some notes for school and I looked at my battery life and it said 96% plugged in but not charging. and I looked around online, some people said the battery is faulty or its old. But I have had this laptop not even 30 days yet. I read online that if I turned off my laptop took out my battery and then plugged in my laptop then put the battery back in it would solve it, I did that and it worked and i was able to charge to 100%. It worked fine all yesterday, but today again its stuck at 99% plugged in not charging.
Can I fix this easily or will I need to act on my 1 year warranty and totally replace it?

Quote from: Svet on 21-January-10, 01:32:50
It's normal, it should start charging when it drops below 95%
Ahh thank you, I was getting worried my battery was faulty already =) I am very relieved this is normal.

Product No. dv6928us: Laptop is not running in Battery. Battery icon indicates, '0% available, Plugged in, not charging' even when the battery is inserted. But the laptop works fine in power mode.
Battery check indicates: "The primary battery was not detected. Check to assure the battery is properly inserted then restart the computer'.
Execution of this did not help.
Can anybody tell me whether battery life is over or loose connection in battery placement?

Try updating The BIOS and then try it again. BIOS (latest): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-62510-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... If that fails to fix it, the battery will need replaced (if you want to) or ignored.

  • W520 - Plugged In Not Charging

    Hi,
I received a new W520 two days ago. I noticed the battery was stuck on 96% and there was an icon in the taskbar with the message "Plugged In, Not Charging".
On further research, I discovered that this is a normal condition that has to do with the Lenovo Power Manager. My charging threshold was set to 96%.
I hope this post saves some other folks from worrying.

Yes, you can set the charging thresholds yourself. I use AC most of the time so I set the thresholds to 10% and 90% to prolong the battery's lifetime.

    hi zk4acid,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you're running on Windows 8.1, can you try to launch the Lenovo Energy Manager and ensure that the Conservation Mode is turned off ( this mode limits the battery charge level to 55%-60% of its full capacity to reduce the battery degradation and extend the battery lifespan).

Let me know how it goes.

  • Lenovo P580 battery "plugged in, not charging" problem?

Hi, I have a Lenovo P580 that is almost 3 years old, and I recently bought a new battery from Amazon to replace the original battery that came with the laptop. However, after installing the new battery, I can't get it to charge with the AC adapter plugged in. The new battery had a 60% charge initially. I currently have the battery setting in "battery fully-charged mode." The battery indicator light is red and flashes quickly, regardless of whether the AC adapter is plugged in or not (and despite having 60% charge). In the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop taskbar, the battery is recognized as being "plugged in, not charging." Is there a way to get the battery to charge? Or should I return the battery and get a different one? I really don't think the battery is the problem, but who knows. Thanks.

    hi MlodyDziura,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Can you Verify that when the Computer is Plugged in and Turned on the battery icon on the lower right states that it is Plugged in not Charging.
And how many Percent it says on the status.
    Thanks
