I can't charge or connect ipod to PC

I connected my ipod to a power source and the ipod says that it's fully charged, and it works fine. When I disconnect it from the power source the battery display drops to half and then loses all power. If I connect the ipod to my pc the ipod says "please wait very low battery". But the ipod never gets enough power to connect to my pc. I have reset my ipod while connected to a power source but I can not get enough power to reset it while disconnected.
Please help.

It tells in the link.

  • No USB 2 port in my G4, how can I charge and connect iPod 30GB?

I dont have a USB 2 port in my G4, how can I charge and connect my brand new iPod 30GB. My G4 only has USB 1 ports. The quick start guide says Can I buy an adapter or something? I'm running OS 10.4.4

You can use the USB 1.1 port to sync and charge your iPod. It will just be slower than USB 2.0.
As far as an adapter... what model computer do you have?
There are USB 2.0 adapters for many Macs... but not all of them.

Can I charge my 2013 ipod classic with my original ipod classic firewire charger?

Nope, I'm sorry. iOS/iTunes only (you need a connection to your network, and the iPod classic doesn't have network capabilities).

can i charge my american ipod touch in UK? I could try to use an adaptor, but i know there is a difference in electric current, and would hate to fry my ipod. Does anyone have any experience with this? many thanks for any suggestions you might make.

Yes, the charging is auto ranging, so all you need is the proper plug/adapter. Apple sells a nice travel kit.

  • Can i charge my swedish ipod in america with an adapter?

Can i charge my swedish ipod in america with an adapter?

Yes. The power adaptors are rated for 115 to 240 volts.
If your power adapter has the round pins used in Europe then you will need the little adapter that changes from round pins to flat pins. These are usually very inexpensive.

  • Charger can't charge nor connect

I tried using my charger today and it won't charge my phone
I rebooted my phone but it still wont work.
I tried turning it off then when i plugged the charger, my iphone would only turn on but still won't charge.
i plugged it into my computer but it wouldn't connect nor charge.
    I think it's a problem with the chord/ connector.

    Hey there Kadadas,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I would suggest this bit from the iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting article found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802.
Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
Also refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Suddenly, I can't charge my 5g iPod using anything other than my CPU!

I've had my 60gb iPod Video (5g) for nearly a year now. In that time, I've used 3 methods to charge my iPod: the compy, my Logitech MM50 speakers, and a little no-name battery pack with 4-AA batteries. It's worked perfectly for months that way.
Now, suddenly, I can't charge using the speakers or battery pack anymore. I didn't change anything, I didn't do anything differently, it just suddenly won't charge unless I connect to my computer.
Anyone know how to fix this problem? Or am I doomed to connecting to my computer? That would suck, considering that I rely on my speakers to charge it at home. Ideas?

Have you tried restoring it with the iPod updater? If
you have all your music on the computer, that's what
    I'd do.
Failing that, I assume you've tried resetting it?
My 30GB Video fails to charge on my ZipLinq adapter,
but after unplugging the cable, and reseating it at
    both ends, it charges fine.
I haven't restored it yet; that's my last resort method. I have tried resetting it, no deal.

  • Can I charge my new ipod using firewire power adapter?

Just got my new 30GB ipod and realised that it doesn't come with power adapter to plug in directly in power outlet.
Can I use the firewire power adapter which I have leftover after my 3rd gen ipod died on me?
Also can I use the firewire to connect it to my powerbook for charging and song transfer? I thought firewire is faster than usb2 then why new ipods don't come with firewire cable anymore?
    Many thanks.
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

think if you do your research and read up you will see the USB2 is indeed faster than Firewire. I actually did a few test on a dual G5 using both the Firewire and USB2 and in all my test, USB2 was faster.
If USB2 was faster for you, that's wonderful. I'm not about to start arguing with you over it.
What I can tell you is that you're certainly in the minority if this was the case for you.
USB2 has a theoretical maximum speed of 480Mbps. While this is certainly a higher number than Firewire 400's 400Mbps, Firewire will still vastly outperform USB2 in almost every case. It is near impossible to get anywhere close to 480Mbps with USB2. Even under ideal conditions, USB2 still has to contend with other processes on the machine, and other devices in the bus.
This is the nature of USB's design.
It is not uncommon for Firewire to reach near maximum speeds consistently. This has been proven time and time again.
Like I mentioned already, if USB2 is faster for you... go ahead and use it. I'm not going to tell you otherwise.
I'm quite sure I've done sufficient research on this, as well as many other people in this industry, and these forums. Perhaps it is you that might want to do a little more reading.

  • Can I charge a new iPod Nano 8 GB with a iPod Mini charger?

I gave my wife an iPod Nano (black, 8 GB) for christmas. After christmas we discovered, that there is no charger, it only charges when you connect it to a computer.
Unfortunately that is not how she uses her iPod. She doesn't use a computer. I pour her favorite music into the iPod, and that's it. 8 GB is more than adequate - she doesn't update the iPod frequently. Her last iPod (a Mini) had the same music for more than a year and a half - untill she lost it.
So ... I guess I could buy a charger for her. Og bring my Powerbbok home every night just to charge her iPod.
But we have the charger from her lost iPod Mini. Does any of you know, if we can use that? The charger has a firewire plug and the cable is firewire in one end and the other end fits perfectly in the Nano. However, I am afraid to fry the Nano.
    The charger says 12V .67A
The print on the iPod Nano reads 5-30V 1A Max.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

Yes, you can use the charger (and cable) that came with the mini to charge the nano.
    Cheers!

  • How can I charge my US ipod in England?

Hoping that the car charger will work but is there a special adapter for wall chargers?

Don't kid yourself! You don't have to pay 30-40 bucks for an adapter. My european wall adapter plug costed less than 3 bucks.
Of course this depending on the charger you already have. If you already have a US wall charger AND it is rated for both 120-220 volts, then all you need is an adapter plug for a few bucks. Example:
    http://vct-electronics.amazonwebstore.com/category/2262655941/1/Electronics.htm
Personally, I got this one from amazon, but I'm not sure what shape outlets England has.
Look, it's 5 bucks with free shipping:

  • Connecting iPod v2.3 Computer Freeze

It's an old iPod (15GB right before click-wheel standard).
I recently connected it to my computer and not only iTunes froze up, but most of my other computer applications as well.
I received a component transfer error (Error 142) after a while. After many hard resets and computer resets and shut downs, I still had the same problem. iTunes will work fine alone, and so will the iPod (though it's unstable battery-wise).

If it does not have a click wheel, but it does have a Dock connector, it is a 3rd gen iPod. It is designed to be connected over FireWire, not USB. So if you are using USB, that may be the problem. It may be able to sync over USB when it is fully charged, but it can only charge when connected by FireWire. You also cannot use the Restore function in iTunes, unless there is a FireWire connection.
The only way to use it reliably with USB is to get this special two-ended Docking cable.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9688G/A?mco=MTIxODk3Mw
You connect the USB end to your computer and connect the FireWire end to the white square wall charging adapter (which also must be the FireWire type), so that it can sync and charge at the same time.

  • My iPod is dead and won't charge or connect to the computer. How can I fix this?

My iPod is dead and won't charge or connect to the computer. How can I fix this? Before it died, it said I had a full battery whenever I charged it, but as soon as it came off of the charger, the battery level was always under ten per cent.

Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced.
