I can´t check if my Iphone is unlocked or not

Hi I own an IPhone 4S, I want to know if it is unlocked, but every time I use an Imei info web it appears as error, does anybody have the same problem?
ps: i currently live in honduras and have claro carrier

Those imei websites are trash. Call AppleCare and give them the serial number. They should be able to help.

Nothing we can do to help you. If it was bought in the UK from an Apple store as unlocked, it is unlocked. If it was bought anywhere else, it will be locked, and only the carrier it is locked to will be able to unlock it.
If you've tried a local SIM and it has not worked, then you have your answer, it is locked.

You should get an email from them to let you know the unlock request has successfully been processed. From there, you restore the phone as new and should get a message on its screen that says it's been unlocked.
If you haven't gotten the email, contact AT&T for an update.

What you could do is to ask the database fora
record count and check that for zero.
How?????You just do an SQL statement but instead of the list of fields after SELECT you put
SELECT count(*) FROM ...... WHERE .....
That returns a single integer value into the resultset giving the number of matching records currently in the database.
The trouble is you can't be certain that when you subsequently access the records the number won't have changed, because databases are generally accessible to more than one process at a time and some other process might add or delete a record between counting and retrieving or, for that matter, during the process of retrieval.
Also the count is likely to take more time than just doing rs.next() and seeing if you get a record.
Since you seem to be in a servlet environment you should consider doing the database query and the first rs.next() at the top of the servlet/JSP that presents the results and, if there are no records, using getServletContext.getRequestDispatcher(...).forward(request, response) to swich to your error page if it returns false.
So the stucture looks like:
rs = stmt.executeQuery(......);
if(!rs.next())
      getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/noresultspage.jsp").forward(request, response);
else {
     do   {
         .... display result data
      } while(rs.next());
    }

There are web sites that claim to be able to tell you if a phone is unlocked by entering the IMEI. They lie; there is no way to know from the IMEI unless you are Apple. Don't use them.

If it is a 3Gs from AT&T it is locked. It could have been "unofficially" unlocked (what iOS version is on it?) but if you upgrade it will relock to AT&T.
AT&T will not unlock iPhones period. Contact the seller and get your money back.

I bought my I-phone 5 from a Verizon store back in October 2012. The sleep/wake button was not functioning right so I took it to the Apple Store and got a replacement. I asked the employee at the Genius Bar was my phone still unlocked, because I read many articles stating that Verizon I-phone 5 is factory unlocked out of the box. She said that my replacement was not and that my original phone was not unlocked either, that it was locked to Verizon. She then proceeded to tell me how unlocking is illegal now, and how only 100 Verizon I-phone 5's were unlocked. I am traveling back to China this year, and I just want to know is there anyway to check if my phone is unlocked? Or do I need to just call Verizon to find out?

You're right that the 'locked/unlocked' terminology doesn't really apply to CDMA. In order to use a CDMA phone on a different network, it has to be flashed. There is no (legitimate) way to do this on an iPhone, even for carriers. Verizon is now allowing some iPhones to be used on at least one of their wholly owned 'bargain' carriers that offers pre-paid flat rate service, but in that case, the separately branded carrier is using the Verizon network, so there is nothing that needs to be done on the phone to allow that to happen. It's all on Verizon's back end. With exceptions like that in mind, it is not possible to take an iPhone from one CDMA carrier to another without altering the phone.
